They assumed I was a teenager even though I'd just told them I'd graduated college, which they acknowledged, but I guess forgotten... And then ignored my concern for my personal safety and belongings. It's very concerning because if I were a teenager without the means to support myself, the situation would've been dangerous. I believe it was Officer Kennedy, and one other officer. They both attempted to fraternize with the individual who destroyed my things and physically attacked me, and they treated me as if my concerns were irrelevant or dismissible. As a former cadet at Public Safety Academy, this behavior is not what I was taught to expect from our public safety officers. I was beyond ashamed of the experience, and hence avoid calling the police because I doubt they will be able to provide much if any support.

He said that the audio taping was legal and that she was well within her rights. He was obviously uneducated on the penal codes, and the 2 way consent on audio taping laws in the state of California. He would not take a statement from me or file a report documenting the continued harrassment. I asked him if I could cover the cameras with a cloth, he said "yes, you can cover them as long as no damage to cameras is done". He told me to just move out. When I got in line, there were only 3 people in front of me. When I walked out, there were at least 15 people in line. When people say "get there as early" they mean it. If you're going to file for divorce, have them filled out before you go or go directly to the family law facilitator. As a father, I struggle to understand how limiting a loving, capable father's time with his child serves that goal. From my perspective, the family court system gives judges tremendous discretion, and it feels like there is very little accountability when parents believe a decision is unjust. This review reflects my personal experience in this court. I hope the system continues to improve and places greater emphasis on preserving strong relationships between children and both loving parents whenever it is safe and appropriate.

I want to acknowledge one of the most professional and attentive police officer of all time. His…read morename is Connor Johnson. I was in a car accident and was so anxious at the time. I reached out to the dispatcher who was focused and caring. Officer Connor Johnson arrived on scene and I was nervous and frustrated because it became a hit and run. This young man spent time with me explaining what would happen and what to expect after the fact as they were trying to locate the driver who happened to be intoxicated. I was hesitant because he was an officer. He was such a professional and a gentleman the whole time. If all officer was as kind and respectful as this young man was. It would totally improve the relationship in the community. He got my information as I kept most of it in my phone e and at the moment couldn't recall the info to unlock my phone. His patience and assurance at a time I truly needed helped me to calm down and regain my focus to get into my phone. He sat with me as he processed the information and made sure I was calm enough to make it home. Oakley Police Department he is a keeper and I am saying give this young man the biggest raise because he represents r this department is best light and provides such wonderful service to assist me. I have put in several calls to have a meeting with Chief Beard and have been ignored. Since OPD refuses to do their job, I will now be forced to take legal action. It's a shame that officers take an oath to serve and protect and can't be bothered to even complete a report properly. I learned how to do this when I went through the Police Academy so I'm not sure why veteran officers cannot do their jobs properly. Next time I have an incident in Oakley, I will be calling the Sheriff instead. And one final point....the action (or better said, inaction) on the part of your officers is why so many Americans distrust law enforcement. What a shame!
