It's still by far one of the more affordable options for large bday parties in Houston though. Check it out!

I went to River Oaks Pilates studio for tango lessons with Pampa Cortes. He's punctual, strict, and consistent. The walls are a yellow orangey color. Wood floors give the space warm. There's a lack of space for seating, but with good music playing and people up dancing, it's not too much of a problem. I like the flow of the space- we hold tango events at a lot of different venues and this studio has one of the better room flows.

Fast forward to today, and while gym memberships across the board aren't cheap anymore, this specific location simply hasn't kept up with the times--or with other branches nearby. If you've been to the Clay location, the difference is night and day. Over there, the weight room is bigger, the amenities are better, the pool is fantastic, and the staff treats you like a paying member. Here on 34th: The facilities fall short: Other locations have solid steam rooms, saunas, quality pools, and great equipment. Here, the pool is mediocre at best, and the workout floor is cramped and desperately needs an expansion and more machines. The vibe from staff is hit-or-miss: Most of the staff are fine, but a couple of folks act like they're doing you a massive personal favor just handing you a basketball to shoot around on the court. Nobody should feel like asking for standard gym equipment is going to get a whole report written on them. The only real selling point for me is convenience--it's a five-minute drive from my front door. But if you've got an extra ten to fifteen minutes to spare, do yourself a favor and hit one of the other branches. You'll get better equipment, better amenities, and way less attitude.
