It was started by a very wonderful lady named Mary. I swear she was sent from heaven. I started going there when I lived in Pottstown and they were only Friday nights. I was a fish out of water and Mary took me under her wings. She saw how frustrated I was getting so she spent time with me until I was enjoying myself. She was just so sweet. I didn't know her except for Bingo but when I just think about her I well up in tears. You can't forget her. Present time she is everywhere in the Bingo hall Pictures everywhere to remind you this was all her idea. And ALL THE MONEY goes to helping people that have to do with organ donation. Whether it's needing an organ or a family that can't afford it or even to fly people where the organ is. I made that up but I know they would do that. They also help with small business in the Pottstown area. So how can you not feel that when your there. It is just an awesome family and and an awesome business. AND AN AWESOME BINGO. Can only vouch for their bingo which I attended once after finding their event on Facebook. Bingo…read moreappears to be a big fundraiser for them and something they do on the regular. Best to "like" their page to see upcoming events. Bingo is one of my favorite things to do, and it's even better when you can help out a local fire hall in the process. This bingo is held at their fire hall. The kitchen was open and offered several food options, including homemade chicken noodle soup. Everything was very affordable. Bingo can be won 8 ways and they have those ways pictured on their board. While they do have a visual of the ball they call they don't have a "board" to check what numbers were already called. The caller was ok, a bit on the slow side, and I did have some issues "getting in the groove" with his "call" method. Regular games were .25/card. A volunteer came around and collected for each game. Special games were $1. The payouts were 1/2 of what was collected, some of the specials paid out in full. On average winnings were $15 per game give or take. They also had door prize tickets and 50/50. Overall the energy level wasn't there. I like bingos that are more upbeat and lively. At age 50 my friend and I were the youngest folks there. The specials weren't a shape or anything challenging - the only difference was the price/payout. They offer cardboard cards and plastic chips. I have my own magnetic chips and used those. It wasn't especially crowded but not really set up to properly social distance either. No one was masked. There were several "false" bingos called which wasted time and is looked down upon and strongly discouraged at other bingo halls. Here it seemed to be a normal occurrence. The addition of a bingo board would help with that. Overall it was a way to kill time on a Friday night and hopefully win a few bucks in the process while donating to a worthy cause. I do prefer callers that move a little faster and games that stay away from basic. Probably won't be back.
