The main buildings sit back from the road but their entrance and signage are fairly easy to spot on Frankfort Ave. I also appreciate the ample parking near the main building. Several steps lead to the front door so check with the Olmstead's team if you need a ramp. If needed, a coat check is in the lobby. The main foyer sits in the middle of two ballrooms. For conferences and weddings they can utilize both sides - i.e. one side for speakers / ceremony and another for lunches / reception. A stage is available and at one wedding the ceiling was beautifully decorated. Food is fairly basic but I've always enjoyed it. Servers came around regularly to clear plates and restock drinks. Bathrooms are located off the foyer and have a few stalls to manage a crowd. Outside the main building offers outside seating and lots of greenery. No issue with sound, whether it's speakers hooked up to wireless mics or DJs and classical ensembles. The screen projection for conferences is very clear too. My only issue is seating when attending a conference. The chairs are metal and not comfortable during a full-day session.

We paid for a full, open bar with quality spirits and wine. A bartender stood out to our guests for being rude. After the wedding, we had several guests share with us about the bartender and her inhospitable attitude (which is very aggravating considering we paid thousands of dollars for our guests to happily enjoy the bar). In addition, there was an issue during the closing of the wedding that rubbed us the wrong way. A security guard made a guest very uncomfortable as she was scrambling trying to find a lost shoe on her way out. He made a comment implying that he would put her in cop car if she didn't leave right away. As well, another issue with the bar, the bar manager accused a guest of stealing after a bartender (appearing to be her own daughter) accepted cash for him for a drink which she seemingly pocketed. The poor customer service definitely left us questioning the integrity of the event, if a bartender would easily pocket cash what else could have been pocketed? We paid at least $50,000 for our event. For this price tag, one would expect impeccable service toward from beginning to end. If we could have copied and pasted the kindness and professionalism of the coordinators to the rest of staff, the night would have been perfect. However, the rude bartender, security, and even seemingly bar manager was the overall issue we had with our wedding reception.

It was a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival there were red velvet ropes going into the venue with our pictures displayed on placards, a nice touch. We used the upstairs space, the Loft which has 2 seat high top tables, 8 top round tables, couch settings for 6 to 8 folks scattered throughout the space. It probably can accommodate 100 to 120 folks. It is so professionally decorated with beautiful flower arrangements, tableclothes, gold placemats and creative, fun wall decor. We were able to hook our phone, with our playlist to their speakers via Bluetooth. The space is elegant and could not be more perfect for a festive gathering. We opted to use one of their caterers who offered a charcuterie board in addition to a selection of 4 additional appetizers. The charcuterie board included the following: Watermelon, Strawberries, Pineapple, Grapes Prosciutto, Pepperoni Broccoli, Carrots, Celery. Gherkins, Cucumbers Olives, Ranch, Fruit Dip Vegetable, Ham and Turkey Pinwheels Chicken Salad in Miniature Cups W/ Crackers Pepperjack Cheese, Smoked Gouda, Extra Sharp Cheddar, and Colby Jack Cheese Assorted crackers. We opted for meatballs, Benedictine sandwiches, quiche and turkey sliders as our 4 appetizers in assition to the charcuterie selections. The food was good. Couple of issues, the food was late being put out, they were still setting it up when our guest started arriving. I paid for food for 100 people, we had 80 guests and there was not much food leftover. If all 100 guest would have attended I fear we would have run out of food and that was disappointing. We were also told there would be a microphone for our use but it was not working and not available for our use. My daughter did the planning but it was pretty straight forward. It was nice to not step on anything that hurts when you are in the middle of a game. They have all the necessary things in place for a fun evening of volleyball. I would love to go back soon and play again. Plus, i would enjoy spending some more time on their patio. Especially since it appears that you can bring your dog with you.
