When it comes to Food in Ladd, people mention the chicken place across the street from this gem. Your other stop should be here for Lunch or stay the night and come here the next day. Why? Hands down the main event is their Pork Tenderloin! I know Pork Tenderloin is a big topic in the IVA so far as who has the best but Softails provides a great product! The nod goes to Chris who pounds and that tenderloin daily and provides a stellar product! Their added bonus is the fresh cut fries. The cost of this meal is truly reasonable. There is enough parking in this area so no worries there. Also they have a friendly staff to boot. Once your done, you can hang at the bar or play some slots. Chicken tased burnt, ordered cauliflower and was brought combo (2 1/2 x's more $) and was billed for it. Fries were burnt and hard. Beets on salad bar were only positive part. One and done for us. read more

Stopped in on New Years eve. No reservation. Did not have a excessive wait. Got a drink at the bar. I normally drink hard cider. Bartender said it was not in season they did not have. I did not realize it had a season. She suggested whatever Samuel Adams they had a tap. I paid whatever but gag. I am not a big drinker. Sam Adams IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE for a hard cider. Bartender was not helpful. Got to our table. Limited menu which I understand for the night. Small salad bar. Not bad. Open bag of brad everyone has bern gapping from. Gross. Ordered the chicken parm. I have no idea what the sauce was. Sauce had no italian flavors. Did not finish. Did not take home. They would be better off with a bottled sauce. Best breaded pork in the Illinois Valley! Sandwiches were huge and the waitstaff very friendly. Definitely worth a stop.

Called to place an order to pick up and they were super rude. I asked a couple questions about the menu because their menu seems to change from day to day. I was told they didn't have time to answer questions about the menu. I have never gone to a restaurant where I was told they were too busy to take my order. And the funny thing is they are never very busy. I am happy to cross the street and go to Rips..much better food! read more

Softails is a good place to go and have some drinks in peace and quiet. I've never had food from there but I've had quite a few drinks there. Their bartender is really friendly and makes good drinks. Ladd is a good place to go drinking if you don't like to get too wild. There are a few more bars in town but I think I like this one better than the others. read more

We stumbled onto this by default. We were traveling on motorcycles on Labor Day and 3 other restaurants were closed for the day. There were 6 of us. The food was delicious, service was fast and friendly. They make their own French fries and pork tenderloins! Pricing was just right for the serving sizes. The atmosphere was fun and interesting. I love their pork tenderloin ( and I'm not much of a pork fan ) the chicken salad sandwich it very good and recently had their bacon cheeseburger and fries, ( the fries weren't quite like I like them, but still good ) .
