The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating in the garden. The garden area is lovely and there are even shades available if it begins to rain or if it is too sunny. We began eating outside and then moved inside. If you are coming during the summer, I recommend making a reservation as it is a popular spot. The restaurant is dog friendly. Service was warm. English is spoken.

The place had tons of history to it and is a historic landmark. The food came up from downstairs via dumbwaiter. My husband was dying to have the boeuf burguignon and this seemed like the best place. We were not disappointment. We started off with the cassolette of snails. It had a nice rich mushroom cream sauce with a flaky pastry baked over the top. The boeuf burguignon was so moist and tender and the sauce was a very nice rich flavor without being too cloying. I had the Pikeperch with mustard and blackberry cream. It was very moist and had a great crust to it. The mustard with the blackberry cream was superb and was such a great compliment to each other. I had the chocolate fondant and it was so rich and delicious!! The wine was wonderful and had a great selection. The staff were very helpful and friendly!

Expect a pork terrine, a fish, a soup, a lamb, a ravioli, a duck and a salad. I was a little worried as it seemed very limited, but everything ended of being phenomenal. We shared the delicate cheese raviolis to start, covered in chives and cream. Then I had the fish and my husband had the lamb. All their ingredients are local and organic. The fish was so delicate with perfectly cooked veggies. The lamb was rich but fork tender. I stole more than a couple bites. For dessert we had the mascarpone tart and the gingerbread and vanilla ice creams. So, so good. We had two bottles of fabulous burgundys (yes two, because when in Rome!). The wines were silly good. This dinner helped affirm that I love Beaune.

So often we hear in the states that the French are arrogant and pretentious. I've found that to…read moremostly be false, until this afternoon... I was very much looking forward to dining here but the restaurant canceled our reservation just a couple of hours before we were supposed to dine. When we arrived, on time, we were turned away. Apparently confirming the reservation multiple times in the weeks leading up to my trip wasn't enough. During a tasting this morning at Dujac, in a cave with no service, I missed one final email confirmation. Because I guess three wasn't enough. God forbid people keep their phones away and actually live in the moment. There were empty tables when we arrived so this was clearly a matter of them simply not wanting to serve us before they closed for the day. Unfortunately I have zero desire to return and give them a second chance to redeem themselves. I hope this stain serves as a reminder that people are human and should be shown grace. I've spent two decades working in the food and beverage world. Many of those years in a restaurant. If one of my employees pulled something like this there would be swift action taken and we'd be inviting the guests back for a free meal. We ended up across the street at Brasserie Le Belena. Where we had no reservation and they were filled to the brim. Nonetheless they welcomed up and sat us quickly. We had an exceptional lunch and we are very grateful they accommodated us. I'll be leaving them a nice 5 star review after this. I'd suggest literally any other restaurant in town at this point.

It wasn't chewy - and in fact, it was flavored by the sauce it was stewed in. The sauces had me salivating. The waiter/owner brought out a mushroom soup- made from local mushrooms, as an extra dish not mentioned on the menu. It was quite delicious. The dishes were creative with a variety of purées and other items. The plates were colorful and delicious. I had the panna cotta and the berry flavor was savory with a wine flavor that was perfect - not too strong or mild. The service was excellent and the owner observed all clients and attended to their needs. It was not very busy, but we felt like the service and good should bring lots of customers.

It was a Monday and most things are closed in Beaune but, much to my surprise this place was still fantastic given our limited options. One of the best things about France is the sheer number of prefix meals during lunch and dinner. There's always an incredible array of dishes to choose from and the prices are just right! This time around I opted for the following: - Terrine - My first one of the trip and lived up to the hype. A hodgepodge of every meat, liver that makes it so great. - Beef Burgundy - Braised for 24 hours, rich and concentrated flavors. - Trio of Fromage - Easily the greatest trio of cheeses I've ever had, no joke. If I spoke french I would have asked our server because they were that legendary. Anyone wanna look at my photo and help a brotha out?! We ordered a bottle of the 2009 "Clos Des Marconnets" Premier Cru that was fantastic. Very lean, acid driven and a perfect accompaniment to the richness of the food. All in all, it's a great lunch spot and worth the stop. It should be noted that this place is know for their seafood but, when in Burgundy... :)
