If I could give more than five stars I definitely would. We stayed here for our 10 year anniversary and what a pleasant surprise, our room was decorated with rose petals and a delicious dessert. The breakfast buffet was great, the almond croissant is to die for, beats the croissants I've had in Paris. The hospitality the staff showed was beyond measure. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit London.

This is a hotel close to my London office and I've stayed here numerous times over the years. Whilst not as celebrated as the Dorchester or the Mandarin Oriental, its level of services and amenities definitely rivals that of those other 5 star establishments. Most of the staff from the front desk to the restaurant and bar are either French or French speaking. The rooms are relatively roomy by London's standard. The hotel has also modernized its accommodations over the past few years. WiFi access is ample around the premises and the rooms are equipped with hot water pots and espresso machines. A power converter can also be found in the desk draw for those who came from 110V countries. The bathrooms are very well appointed and the huge shower head with plenty of water pressure is great to release some stress at the end of a long work day. Best of all, while the hotel is situated on corner of Pall Mall and Waterloo Pl., one can hardly hear any of the street noises because of the duo layers of double pane windows. The hotel also added a on-site gym a few years ago. While the gym is not very large, it has all the equipment I needed and they are fairly new and well-maintained. The breakfast buffet (available as a part of the room package or charged separately at £25) consists of a good spread of options. It's a very nice hotel at a very convenient location for those that prefer the West End.

Sofitel St James. The Mary Poppins of London hotels, practically perfect in every way. Oh so attentive and helpful staff really made the difference. From printing some work emails, offering water after a morning jog, to the most wonderful welcome drink. Attention to detail second to none. The bed was extra comfortable. I currently sleep lightly and so appreciated the comfort of a deep sleep even if for a few hours. The Hermes toiletries are refreshing and a quality addition. The hotel location was excellent, close to the bussle of SoHo, and the comfort of Sofitel was a welcome respite.

Amazing location and spectacular service! Mix in excellent dining and luxury around every corner and you, as the guest, have an extraordinary stay! Attention was given to every little detail before we felt there was a need. Lightening fast internet and a sumptuous and choice-filled breakfast made the day to day stuff easier. Plenty of complimentary water and teas/coffees to relax with at the end of the day. Hermès bathroom products that delighted the senses, in an elegantly designed bathroom. Close enough to Piccadilly Circus but far enough to avoid the constant noise, the Sofitel's location is ideal. We hardly took the underground because we are in the middle of everything we wanted to experience! Really and truly a perfect stay which we will repeat!

I stayed here last weekend during my first trip ever to London. For sightseeing, this location was good because most were 3 or 4 tube stations away. Located off of Picadilly Circus station (less than 5 minutes walking), I felt that it was located in a convenient area for young people. Picadilly area has many shops open late with lights (and even few casinos), and you can truly get that party feel during the night hours. Of course, if you are a bit older, perhaps you would opt out for more quiet area. My room was in the corner, so it was quiet. At the time of this writing, they are currently doing some remodeling inside the hotel and therefore gym is unaccessible. However, the hotel offers complimentary pass to nearby gyms for guests to compensate for this inconvenience. I can't really compare on price and value because this was my first trip out to London, but I felt that I got my money's worth from my stay :-)

    Best mojito in London!!

We were so happy to pick this hotel while visiting London this summer! If you want to be in central London, not use a taxi, then this is definitely a hotel for you. Perfect location. You can walk everywhere. Oxford Street is 10 min walk, Picadilly 5 min.... Checking in lasted only a couple of minutes. Everyone who works here is extremely helpful and polite. Great, clean room. We had free breakfast with our room and service and the food were fantastic. Great choices and great options. I will suggest, if you don't have breakfast included in the price, stay at the hotel and pay for it, because the food is fantastic. We end up one day 30 min at the bar and had the best drinks we ever had in London. There is a bartender from Latvia, I think, Lukas, who makes amazing cocktails. I had one of the best mojitos ever! The only place I was not impressed was The Balcon. We had dinner here the evening of our arrival. Service is fantastic. Every single waiter was French or spoke fluent French, so you really feel like you are in the middle of France... but unfortunately, we were not impressed at all with the food. I will not recommend this place for dinner, considering that you are in central London and there are some incredible restaurants around. Even with not so impressive dinner, this is still our new favorite hotel in London, and we will be staying here again on our next visit.

    Awesome tea room.

Very nice hotel and great service. This hotel has a great lobby area with a well designed bar and amazing tea room. The hotel staff is very friendly and demonstrated a high service level. In the room, the beds were very soft. They had some nice welcome gifts for us too. The only thing that drops it from a five star to a four is there was some urine on the toilet in the hotel room bathroom. We had to clean it off and it was not fun. That being said the room was great with a nice view. Great service level.

    They didn't forget our anniversary...

Excellent service... very clean, classy and smells sooooo good... from day one, complimentary welcome drink, tour of the amenities, anniversary treat... excellent!

It was my first business trip to London - meaning I would not have a chance to stay such a nice hotel on my own. Comparing other hotels I stayed - Holiday Inn and Hilton - this is the nicest one of all, which is understandable considering it's price tag. Coming from US, the first thing you notice is how you are treated as "ladies and gentleman" in a true meaning at this hotel. Whatever I ask for, even a tiny thing like such as scissors to cut a price tag of a brand new shirt, staple for my work docs, outlet adaptor to use US cell phone charger, their response was "absolutely" without second thought. It applies to every single staff I have spoken with. I especially liked a tea room with pinky, rosy, comfy chairs and tea tables used for a little waiting/meeting area, which made my meeting with clients very pleasant and comfortable. I will try their good deal spa this weekend - including steam sauna and a la carte massage for GBP 80 for 1, 150 for 2 persons. Miya

The hotel is located within walking distance of the tube, Oxford street with Selfridges as well as many restaurants. There is a taxi rank located right outside which was very convenient. The rooms were very comfortable with plentiful amenities like complimentary bottled water, mini fridge, robes and slippers, etc. The bed was so soft and there were a good variety of channels on the television. All staff we interacted with at the hotel were helpful and kind. There was a fire evacuation on one of the days we were there and an announcement came on the loud speaker informing us to leave and staff members guided us to the exit quickly. The buffet breakfast was nice with omelets by request, a variety of hot and cold items (bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, baked beans, pancakes/waffles, fresh fruit and vegetables, juices, cereal, yogurt, pastries). There were servers to clear your plates and provide drinks. We had drinks one evening at the bar and Marco was such an entertaining and efficient bartender. He made our evening memorable and put so much attention into making our cocktails and providing us with information about the signature drinks available. Overall I would stay here again! The location was wonderful and we had a very comfortable stay.

We are so fortunate to have spent four nights at The Langham, using it as our base for the trip. This hotel is steeped in history as the first "Grand Hotel" in London and all of Europe, pioneering amenities that were truly groundbreaking for their time. It's also where the tradition of Afternoon Tea was popularized beyond aristocratic circles and introduced to a wider audience. The Langham is also known for their signature scent, almost like a spicy rose, that we are still thinking about to this day. It is the first thing that greets you in the lobby but is not overpowering; you know immediately where you are. The service we received was nothing short of warm and attentive. Our Superior Room was ready upon check-in and very comfortable. We stayed in briefly to recharge from the jet lag and time change before heading down for Afternoon Tea at the Palm Court, which is an experience in itself. A special shout-out to our server, who was extremely generous with scone refills when my wife had to step away briefly after the long journey. Complimentary tea is also served downstairs each morning in a quick grab-and-go fashion, which gave us the daily energy we needed before heading out for a full day of planned activities and sightseeing. Marylebone is ideally situated in the heart of central London, with easy access to hot spots like Mayfair and SoHo. The London Underground is just steps from the hotel, putting most of the city within about 20 minutes' reach. Shopping, dining, and museums are all nearby, and the Hotel Concierge was proactive enough to reach out before our trip to help book activities. One highlight was the swimming pool, located beneath the hotel in what was once an underground bank vault. We didn't make it to the gym, but we did peek inside and it was beautifully appointed. We are fans of The Langham brand and can't wait to return to The Langham London and explore their properties in other cities around the world!

One year later we were back for a mother daughter trip with another mother/daughter. I originally booked the St Ermins again, but then thought it may be fun to switch it up and stay in a new area of London. A friend/travel agent recommended The Marylebone Hotel, which met all of our requirements: - easy to get around in London - fairly priced by London standards - good shopping/restaurant area We arrived a little cranky from our flight in Edinburgh after a 2 hour Uber from the airport. They greeted us warmly and even told me they had an upgrade for me, although ran out of upgraded for my friend which didn't make her happy. To be fair our rooms were right next to each other and I didn't see a difference so don't think mine was really "upgraded" The rooms like most in London were small. We had 2 twin beds pushed together. It was basically like sleeping in one big bed, but we had our own set of covers which made my 13 year old happy. Everything was very clean and nice, but small. The attached gym was great. It seemed to be a popular local gym so was quite crowded, but if there was room in classes hotel guests could join. I did a leg class one day, which I enjoyed...although got a great leg workout just walking miles and miles around London everyday. The surrounding area was so cute - filled with boutiques (some unique to London and other popular back in the states). There were lots of little cafes to grab a treat as well. We spent a lot of time in covenant garden to see shows on this trip, which was quite the walk but great way to get exercise. And when we returned from the craziness of covenant garden it was nice to be in a quiet area. Breakfast was included in our daily rate. The buffet was adequate and I enjoyed eggs and coffee from the menu. We also received a $50 room credit, which we used to raid the mini bar the last day for some airplane snacks. I thought St Ermins was the perfect pick for my family's first trip to London since it was right next to the tube and near so many sites, but this hotel worked out perfectly for a mother daughter eating, shopping and shows adventure.
