    Strawberry milkshake
    Josh R.

We stopped here for ice cream one night. I ordered a strawberry milkshake, and it was pretty good. They use Blue Bell ice cream, so that automatically makes it good. FYI, this place is cash only, and they don't have an ATM onsite. There is one down the street. It kind of sucks because they don't have that posted on the door, and the only signage is when you go to pay (after they've given you the ice cream). Also, they didn't have their hours posted on the door which was a little confusing too. Overall, this is a good place to get ice cream!

So I'm on vacation in Bryson City, and my cousins INSISTED that we go to Soda Pops because it has "the best ice cream in town" and let me tell you they were not wrong. The place was soooooo cute and felt so homey. I got a chocolate dipped waffle cone with strawberry and peach ice cream, and it was delicious. I loveeeeeee strawberry ice cream, it's my absolute favorite, so I was very happy. Def coming back whenever I'm in town again.

It was hot outside and I needed something to cool me down, pronto! I was walking past Soda Pop's and saw ice cream shakes advertised as well as ice cream cones! My son and I went inside and were waited on quickly. The young man behind the counter was polite and must have seen sweat dripping off my brow because I had a huge ice cream cone ready for consumption in a second. The store was cool, the ice cream colder and the owner was friendly. My son and I definitely enjoyed this stop on our trip.

We stopped here for ice cream while in town. Such a cute little shop! They ice cream soda, hard ice cream, homemade flavored soft serve. It has a cute 50s soda shop vibe. Lots of memorabilia. I had an orange soda and it was delicious but huge! I had the small and it was two scoops of ice cream and a giant cup of orange flavored soda. The service was quick and most people were taking it to go like us but there are booths there for you to sit and enjoy. The staff are.fast, friendly and helpful. Explained all the options and were friendly. Parking is street which can be limited in the summer.

It's got that old school ice cream parlor feel

Love this place right in the heart of Bryson City, NC. It has the total old school ice cream parlor feel. They just moved about 100' from their old spot, still has the same street parking. Family owned, just like the way it used to be. Prices are average, but they serve Blue Bell ice cream so it's worth it. They have ALL the ice cream parlor favorites. You won't be disappointed.

They need a sign on the door that says cash only! Adorable decor and friendly service, though.

The bagels were very different from any we have had before, had a very home baked bread taste. The sweet potato bowl was very flavorful and hit just the right note for lunch. The staff is very friendly and will give excellent recommendation. The decor is rustic cute. Worth a visit!!!

The shop itself is adorable, clean, and had a steady flow of customers. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I ordered an iced dirty chai latte, which is my go-to whenever I'm trying a new coffee shop because it's a pretty reliable way to compare places. It was good, and exactly what I was hoping for. I also tried the cinnamon roll. It was tasty, but pretty standard. Looking back, I think I'd try one of their other bakery items next time. My friend ordered one of their homemade biscuits. It took quite a while to come out--around 15 to 20 minutes--and several other customers were served before we received it. It honestly felt like the biscuit may have been forgotten, which was a little disappointing. Overall, though, we had a pleasant experience. Nothing was overpriced, the staff was kind, and it's the type of local place I always encourage travelers to support. While there are a couple of other coffee shops in Bryson City I'd probably try before returning, I still think La Dolce Vita Bakery is worth a visit so you can form your own opinion. Every café has busy days, and one experience doesn't define a business. If you're looking for a cozy local spot for coffee and a pastry while exploring downtown Bryson City, it's definitely worth stopping in.

We stopped in on the recommendation of a local shop owner while we were visiting Bryson City, and I'm so glad we did. Being from the Tampa area, we're pretty picky about Cuban sandwiches. They're a staple back home, so our expectations were high. The owner happened to be there and confidently recommended the Cuban, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. There was a short wait while it was made fresh, but it was well worth it. The sandwich was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and honestly tasted like a little piece of home. We packed it up and enjoyed it before heading out for an afternoon of tubing, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The shop itself is charming, clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere where you can sit down and enjoy your meal. We didn't try the sweets this time, but they looked delicious and give us another reason to come back. Meeting the owner made the experience even better. He was friendly, welcoming, and clearly takes pride in what he serves. Whether you're a fellow Floridian missing a great Cuban or you've never had one before, do yourself a favor and stop by High Test Deli & Sweet Shop. It's absolutely worth it. This is an easy 5-star recommendation, and we'll be back the next time we're in Bryson City.

It's not always easy to find a place that delivers good food, good service, and good value, but High Test Deli did all three. We would definitely stop by again the next time we're in the area.
