Until recently they didn't even have a Yelp page. My recent stop changed all of that. My main focus when stopping at rest areas is generally to take a short rest break, perhaps obtain a cool refreshment, and continue on with my journeys. As with many of the old Ohio rest areas, this one doesn't have a lot of parking. As well, the building is very small and doesn't have much going on inside. There are separate men's and women's restrooms, a drinking fountain, a small phone booth with no phone, and that's about it. On the outside of the building, there is a sheltered area which holds snack and refreshment vending machines. The grassy areas alongside and behind the building are large enough to accommodate picnicking families with multiple picnic tables and charcoal grills set about. Walking of animals so they can get their relief is easily accomplished on the outer edges of the grassy areas. With the national shortage of adequate truck parking for trucker's rest periods, this rest area does not hold many spaces for large vehicles. This rest area is a favorite of mine for short stops.

They don't have to answer to any problems because nobody regulates this place.

Ashton pretended to be nice in order to get free stickers off me then would glare and refuse to speak to me afterwards. A staff member admitted they use Hispanic children as translators, but if no child is around they just hang up or don't help the patron. I emailed them kindly twice bringing up concerns just for them to treat me even worse than before. My kids and I would leave crying after interacting with staff because none of us could understand why our local librarians were being so mean to us. I asked for the Hispanic children's books to be put at an appropriate height for the age range of the books and that they be brought out from behind all the resource books because it felt unfair and dehumanizing to have them go all the way to the back of the room. Sending Hispanic people to the back? I also just wanted adult Spanish books to improve my Spanish, but because the director has added things for the adults in kids lives so I figured he'd be excited. Danielle U. seems to like to shove people out of conversations and talk over them. She also had no concerns for a child and instead offered to throw him out for me because he asked me for a ride. I feel she should've checked on the child and not try to kick him out. The staff nor director Gary seem to want to fix the situation or offer any form of clarity as to why they've been treating me along with other patrons so poorly

This is a beautiful covered bridge built to look as if it is old though it is rather recent. It is…read moremade out of different types of wood and has cedar shingles. It's a two-lane bridge and it has additional space on the outside of either lane so that pedestrians can walk along the bridge, take pictures and actually climb inside the trusses of the bridge. It is worth a visit.

Thie memorial rivals some of the more famous memorials in Washington, DC. There is no admission fee for the Harding Memorial.

William Harding was the 29th President of the United States and long time Marion, Ohio resident…read more The Harding Memorial is the burial site of President Harding and his wife Florence. It is also known as the Harding Tomb. This is one of the last elaborate presidential tombs ever made. The memorial is managed by the Ohio Historical Society. The circular marble structure is reminiscent of something out of ancient Greece. It has no roof in an effort to honor President Harding's wish to be buried in a simple grave under a tree and the stars. The memorial is the work of Henry Hombostel and Eric Wood. It was completed in 1927, but due to President Harding being marred by personal controversies and scandals at the time of his death, the Memorial was not officially dedicated until 1931 by President Herbert Hoover. It costed $783,103, which is approximately $15.3 million. It stands about 53 feet tall and has a diameter of 103 feet. The memorial is across from the Marion Cemetery and has a small private parking lot. The grounds are immaculate. It has a lot of green space and a small round structure at the base of the memorial that has informational placards about President Harding, his wife and his presidency/life. The President and First Lady's crypts are fenced off so visitors can not go up to them. You can easily view them through the fence though. There is not much to see on the backside of the memorial except the structure itself. This is not a very long stop but could easily be coupled with other nearby attractions such as the Harding Library, the Marion Cemetery, and/or the Marion Veterans Park to maximize your time.
