I called and a wonderful person named Heather, searched and finally found the package in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked to get it redirected and it arrived today! YAY!! Zeeland Post Office is a great example of small town friendliness and helpfulness!

I was surprised at how small it is inside, especially compared to my home branch, Yankee Clipper. It reminded me of the tiny library I grew up visiting. We were greeted right away as we walked in. I always like browsing the new books at any branch, and they were displayed nicely with a decent sized selection. There is free parking available in the lot, as well as metered street parking in front. There's also a voter ballot box outside, which is really convenient and I've dropped off ballots here multiple times. It's nice to have this library near my home and I'll stop in again next time I'm in the area.

I told him that's not allowed. He insisted yes it is.Well we get there and they wool dnt take my husband because...... You can't have one appt for 2 people! Ya duh, which I knew! When we came together at the window, the lady working the window was terrible. She had a nastier than dog doo doo attitude.. I was asking questions that I needed to ask. She was irritated to the point that her TONE and BODY language was dismissive, rude, short smarty pants, and downright mean. It really was unacceptable behavior when dealing with people as customer service tellers.. We was Shocked really. We didn't do anything to deserve the treatment she was handing out. I stayed sweet and kind and allowed her to be rude to me for no reason at all. This though went beyond just a dad day and we did not deserve to be treated so bad. Afterward I asked for a mgr. The mgr. Came to the front, spoke to me and said "oh we don't take 2 people on one appt." I told her the man making appts insisted. She said "no mam, he didn't do that." By then I was getting angry now. Because she was basically calling me a liar. Finally I told her the date and time and told her run the tapes! She deferred. Then I spoke about the lady at the window. The mgr also did not address her behavior, instead said "she's probably having a bad day." Mind you, if I was a vengeful person I could take this to the top. (That's how bad the teller was.) I'm not exaggerating. I decided to write this post instead. However If it happens again, I'm putting out names of the people who mistreat me for no reason at all other than they are having a "bad day" The point is, The mgr. Needs to do a better job because this place is pretty out of order.

I…read moredon't remember ever visiting the West Side branch before, and I was pleasantly surprised at the large, light-filled reading room. I wish the new book section was larger, but I had fun browsing and looking at the records available for check out. I also got some new to me CDs to listen to. I was trying to print some things, but the room where the printer is was very crowded with people on computers and the printer was occupied, so I went to another branch for that. I definitely could have been more patient but felt like it was a bit cramped in the room. I parked on the street but it looks like there is a parking lot behind the building, as well as hold lockers outside which I think are super nice. I wish my branch had them.

The Grand Rapids World of Winter event 2025 brought me to a lecture, "creating outside your craft"…read moreby Mark Schentzel. This was being held at the establishment of downtown Grand Rapids that I am reviewing now. I would like to mention that this historic building was designed by Solon S. Beman and completed in 1892. Even has been the site of many important events in Grand Rapids history, including a campaign speech by Vice President Theodore Roosevelt in 1900. The Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. (DGRI) is the organization responsible for city building and place-management in the urban core of the City of Grand Rapids, Michigan. There is a parking garage across the way. Everyone who attended were provided a voucher for attending the event so I was able to park for free. This lecture highlighted If you ever wanted to learn the how to creating sculpture and public art this was the event to see. I have never been to this building. Walking up to it was a sight. Clean, classic and very well decorated. I was greeted promptly when I entered and given a tour of the establishment. Loved the mural painted on the wall by Ten Finger Fish. The facility was clean, well lit and had a comfortable layout. The lecture took place in the back of the building. The space was lovely and a perfect fit for the night. Glad I was able to volunteer to help, and attend this event.

Love love love the library. All of the staff are so kind and helpful. They host so many wonderful…read moreevents for the public and have so many resources that you may not even realize! You can rent things like records, video games, and they have even had tickets for local experiences or attractions. The library is such a necessary community space. Definitely sign up for the summer reading program, it's open to all ages.

We were welcomed in as we entered and I was so impressed by all the great book displays. I particularly enjoyed the "Celebrity book club" display as I had read many of the books! There is a nice teen section, children's area, and some space to sit and work/read. I also liked the bells outside the library and the bright mural near the back entrance. This library is so cute and cozy, I would stop in often if I lived in the area.

I visit this branch weekly, as it's the closest to my house. It's not a huge library, but it's…read morebigger than some of the other nearby branches and the employees are so friendly and helpful. There's ample parking with two lots, and it's right by a bus stop. One of my favorite things about this branch is the whiteboard near the entrance, which always lets me know what "Day" it is (something fun/silly like "national don't be scared of bugs day") and has a fun prompt. One of my favorite prompts recently was, "which medieval cat are you?" and had several different printouts of medieval cats in varying stages of terror. It always makes me smile and I like reading what other people write for each prompt. The new book shelves are always full of great selections, and I love the staff picks table, where I often find something new to me to read. I utilize the library's printer on a monthly basis (you can print up to 50 pages per week for free) and it's easy to send documents from home that you can then release when you arrive. Just be sure to only send things to the printer during open hours! The drive up book drop is nice, and it checks in your books as you drop them into the chute. I do sometimes wish they had the after hours hold lockers like I've seen at other branches. I love GRPL!
