Had to call two times both times we were having a problem with her mail both times we were treated with respect and everyone was so kind but better yet problems was handled fast and we received the packages . I should add the problem was not the post office , one was the apartment did not have mail boxes and the other one was our fault but they went above their duties ! Great people and they do their job ! Thank you Durant Post Office, happy grandmother

I went to the Durant OK PO to purchase an inexpensive scale to weight the claims packages we send…read moreto the VA for veterans. I told the worker that and they sold me a $35 scale. my wife has a $3.00 scale that does exactly what I need. On the 14th I went to return the scale and was told by the same worker he did not know how to do that and to come back and talk to the post master on Monday which I did. At the same worker station he told me to wait while he talk the the lady in charge. He came back and told me the receipt said not returns due to covid. That is bs the receipt states no refunds on stamps and postage. I told them that was wrong and asked to speak to the post mater. the same one he just spoke to and was told I could not. If it was my money I would not give a hoot, but this is for the DAV to work for the veterans and I hate to see arrogance on the part of government employees against a veterans organization. Unfortunately our little city in notorious for having off the wall post masters

What an amazing resource in the heart of town. I'm not sure if folks realize all the various things…read morethey can do and learn about at the library and community center. In the entrance there are pamphlets and guides on filing taxes, while inside the library there are guide books on how to start a small business, file for divorce, and/or create official landlord/tenant legal documents. If you're curious about genealogy there are historical references with family information from Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, etc dating back centuries. There are even old microfiche machines in the back in case your kiddos have never heard of or seen one of them. Currently they aren't in working order but all microfilms have been converted and are available for viewing in a digital format consistent with today's media viewing. There is a kids section with picture books and a young adult section with every dystopian novel or series you can think of. If your kiddos aren't excited for regular books they even have huge collections of graphic novels and anime type books. If you can't sit and read a tangible book for long periods of time or find yourself on the road a lot they have tons of audiobooks and are also a part of a consortium of libraries for e-books/audiobooks. And lastly if reading isn't your cup of tea they have tons of movies to choose from. Movies paired with the books they were made to mirror are available at the front. I was so impressed with all of the materials readily available here - for such a small space it certainly offers much more than meets the eye at first glance. If you need something printed they do that here for $0.10 a page and if you need help with something the folks that work here are super friendly and are able to help with a myriad of things. Lastly they have a cafe and good wifi available to utilize, along with tons of programs to help with literacy, tutoring, community outreach (including free meals), etc. For all those that didn't know before, now you do! The city has done well to provide this resource that more folks need to utilize and appreciate. Mario and her team have done wonders for this space with the resources available.
