A coroner's office by its very nature must deal with people when they are enduring the darkest,…read moremost tragic, sad times of their lives. Although the office interprets the causes of death of certain individuals, the office then turns those findings over to families and other government agencies. When dealing with families at this time certain care must be given to respect and cater to and SERVE families as their office should by providing reports when requested and in timely manner. From what I hear from others around me, It has not been only my experience that the Cuya. Cnty. Coroner's office is horrible at customer service and privacy protection but the experience of countless others as well. I hope this review serves as the gateway to open up awareness & dialogue to fix this failing government office. My father passed away 4/30/2010. He was cremated, but of course due to the circumstances of his death (which I am NOT going to talk about here) In order to properly pursue prosecution on all ends and in all shapes and forms it is quite simple that an exam needs to be performed, results must come in and then in turn that data interpreted. There is no guide for families enduring this process. There is no caring for the families that have been victimized. Very cold voices tell you every week and every day for 6months or more 'oh it should be here any time now" "oh the doctor is out on vacation" "oh we are waiting for results from toxicology" "oh any day now" GIVE ME A STRAIGHT ANSWER. I DEMAND SERVICE, RESPECT, TRUTH, and HONESTY thru this process. DO NOT LIE TO ME DO NOT PLACATE ME. Be explicit in the difference between Cause of Death and Autopsy report. Ask me if I have questions. PRETEND THAT YOU GIVE A DAMN. That is how your office should be run. I understand results take time, but if your operation is not working, why you wouldn't seek out additional resources, or at the very least communicate effectively about just how screwed up things are. I called their office starting in May. As mentioned I was told "soon" and "next week" repetively. Finally my sister called one day and they were able to give her cause of death. At this time we were explained that while although the cause of death had been completed, the official and completed autopsy report would take two more weeks. This was in about August. At this point we had learned the office was disorganized and could not properly communicate timelines so we figured it would take longer and asked to be notified when this was complete. In early November we were called and notified the report had been complete, it was offered to be sent in the mail. I did not care, I wanted to go pick it up....So I called ahead, told them my name and who's report I was to pick up. While I was en-route and on the phone with them asking for directions I was told I would need exact change $2.25. All I had on me was a 5. I asked if I could buy 2 for 5 and the response was "sorry sir, this is a government office, we cannot take tips" Are you kidding me? You don't have a petty cash/change box? You can't take a check? (Really talking old school there!) You can't take a credit card? YOUR OFFICE IS A JOKE. YOUR JOBS ARE A JOKE. YOU HAVE NO COMPASSION. I DEMAND REORGANIZATION I had left work early, on a mission for my Fathers Memory; nothing was going to stop me. I went to a gas station downtown and received proper change. I arrive at the office, go through securityand go up. I am elated that the wait is over. I am happy to finally be done waiting for results and dealing with this silly office. I make small talk with the desk person, seemingly professional, seemingly nice. If I remembered her name here you best damn bet id be posting it here, Oh yea its Elizabeth Nugent....she gathers my father's papers and hands them off to me! I was so excited I went back to work and scanned the documents to PDF. I email them to the prosecuting attorney and he notifies me half is my fathers and half is someone else? Are you F******G kidding me? I called and ahead told you who I was and after MONTHS you F up one more time? ROT IN HELL. You have no dedication and you have no pride. Get out of government service and go sweep floors; I couldn't even trust you doing that. I call HIPPA and file a complaint I call the Coroner's Office and ask to speak to the manager. This was on a Monday. She said she would put in the mail that day. I did not get it until the Monday the week of thanksgiving. You inconsiderate ! You Careless ! You complacent! Resign, go far far away and let someone else competent perform the duty . Elizabeth Nugent., You and your office represent a huge disrespect to the City and people of Cleveland in the County of Cuyahoga in the State of Ohio of the United States. YOU MAKE ME SICK.

I am going to talk to an attorney because if they are doing this to other families this is horrible. Autopsy report not for 3-4 month just horrible.

The grounds here are very well maintained with this memorial towering over everything else. The two volunteers working inside shared lots of the details of the place along with meanings of the different architectural features and works. The mosaic floors and alcoves were impressive but the 10 ton marble statue of Garfield is certainly the highlight. Centered in a circular room on the main floor, he is well lit above and surrounded by stain glass windows depicting the original colonies on all sides. The details in the statue itself are impressive right down to the laces of his shoes. Take the circular staircase up a level for a birds eye view. You can also sneak a good peak of the downtown Cleveland skyline in the distance. Head back down two levels to the crypt and see Garfield's flag draped coffin alongside his wife's. Admission is free but there is a donation box to help maintain things. Our visit lasted about 15 minutes and was well worth the walk from the Mayfield gate. Just follow the white line on the road to the left to reach it.

Learned some history about a president I knew very little of... We liked that you can go outside on the upper level and have a nice view of downtown Cleveland and walk around the perimeter for views of the cemetery. Definitely worth a detour.

It's a super cool shape and all glass on the outside. Near it is another giant piece of public art, a big hand. Parking can be a little difficult around the museum as it's a pretty walkable area, but there are a few pay lots within walking distance. The museum is 4 floors I believe and has constantly rotating exhibits. They don't collect or keep any pieces which makes each visit a new experience. The exhibits are typically interesting and sometimes they feature local artists. I've attended a few events here which are usually pretty cool. They have a large open space perfect for a dance floor, wedding, or any type party of event. They also have a cool gallery hall where they usually set-up the bar. You have to bring in for your own events of course. But another cool thing is that the museum is free and open to all Ohio residents Friday-Sunday!

Unfortunately, it really was unimpressive. I'm not a modern art person, but I've seen much better than this. The top of the stairs led to a bizarrely pointless overlook of very little of the interior. The most artsy exhibit had some abstract paintings that looked kind of cool but didn't photograph well. Another floor felt like it was basically a dare to dislike the art, with text framing the artist's identity as if this was very important, but the actual exhibit being childishly unoriginal and aesthetically bankrupt. Maybe future exhibits will be better, but the other reviewers don't give me a ton of confidence about whoever's making creative decisions here. The view of the neighborhood was nice, but I found that I spent barely half an hour trying really hard to get something out of the museum before giving up, and it really wasn't worth the time or money that I spent on it. And it was free!
