They offer bingo on Monday and Friday nights and offer a Stag dinner the last Tuesday of every month (steak, windsor chops, ground steak, and shrimp) for a very reasonable price! Yes, Minnesota only joined the Union as the 32nd state on May 11, 1858 but contributed significantly to Union efforts. About 22,000 Minnesotans served; 2,500 died in the war. Minnesota formed 11 infantry units, 4 cavalry units, 4 artillery units, and an unassigned volunteer unit. This monument was erected in 1914. "Erected by citizens of Freeborn County, Minn. in memory of Union Soldiers and Sailors of the War of 1861-65" and "Dedicated to Robson Post No. 5. G.A.R. of Albert Lea, Minn. The red brick, sandstone and limestone building is definitely impressive and worth a visit. Freeborn County was created in 1855 with territory separated from Blue Earth and Rice counties. Freeborn County was named for William Freeborn, an early Minnesota pioneer, merchant, and territorial legislator. The county is in southern Minnesota and has one border with neighboring Iowa. I've been to a lot of counties and a lot of county government administration buildings and rarely am I called on by my conscience to rate them. In this case, I couldn't get my thumbs moving quick enough. And, if I can let you in on a secret, I really think this is a five star location, but people never read the five star reviews, they think five stars is probably some shill, some county employee boosting their local stats. Guess what, I'm none of those. I'm just a careful observer of what works and what doesn't in county and city administration buildings and this place works in a big way.

I'm not from the area since the mid 80's, so I enjoyed everything from Rabbits to goats and Mexican food to corn dogs. The area that I live in doesn't have a county fair, so this was a nice thing to reminisce by.

Chert was used by Native Americans to make tools. Settlers in the area have covered most sites with farmland, but kept finding tools and arrow heads. This area still has sunken land, which was abandoned by the tribes over 600 years ago. Sites along the trail include The Grandfather tree and Grandmother Tree. Sitting area of stone recreated as meeting areas. Signs along the way interpreted what we are seeing.

In my bag I had the exact sizes for carry on. They took half of my legal shampoo bottles etc, to which LAS did not. As per the tsa agent at Rochester, I was told their rules were the same. I did question him, and was rudely met with. Just dealing with these kind of people, I can understand why they only make $11.00 an hour, and that's way too much !!!
