As a fellow yelper said it so well.. are we really going to rate USC on Yelp? LOL!!…read more I am delighted and thrilled to share I am now an alumna of USC. As a yelper here for over 13 years, I don't sugarcoat my words (or in my reviews), and I don't intend to do so here either. The USC program is rigorous and not for everyone. There were so many readings that I often genuinely wondered if it was even humanly possible to get through them all. Granted, I am a slow reader, and that certainly did not help. Beyond the beautiful campus and the prestige that comes with the school, more importantly know that there is no financial aid for tuition fees for master program. Education does not come cheap. Still I am grateful for the learning experience and for my many professors who were simply wonderful and amazing professionals. A big shout out to Dr. Julianna Kirschner, Professor Monica Koyama, Dr. Muthuswamy and Dr. Courtney Pade. P.S. I do wish I had been in the class of Dr. Bracero and Dr. Akira; I have heard so many amazing things about them.

I didn't attend this prestigious University; however, I joke that I am an honorary alumna. My brothers from another mother all graduated from here, and I attend Homecoming with them every year. In fact, I used to work with Eddie Tannenbaum who discovered Traveler (USC's Mascot) when he was a junior in 1961. The campus is beautiful and features several Romanesque Revival style buildings. A portion of the main campus was entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. The Coliseum is in walking distance. I've attended many football games here over the years and have seen Clay Matthews, Reggie Bush, Mark Sanchez, & Matt Leinart play. I remember the glory days of Pete Carroll. Our favorite tailgate party is the one hosted by LAMBDA. They have a great DJ, delicious food, a premium bar, fun activities and, of course, fabulous attendees! This year we were treated to yummy eats from Bludso's BBQ & tasty treats by Ice Cream Occasions. When the party was over, we all headed to the Coliseum for the match between the Trojans & the Huskies. Sadly, we lost this game but we will continue to Fight On!

OMG, I stumbled out of my comfortable cozy bed and stumbled into the kitchen. I checked the fridge and suddenly remembered that I am not to eat anything before my ultrasound! I'm fasting until after my ultrasound. Grrrr.. I navigate back to the bedroom and I open my closet and retrieve my bathrobe and head over to the bathroom. I turn on the shower and grab my towel and then jump in. SCRUB SCRUB RINSE RINSE... meh.. repeat? Meh... repeat. Jump out and towel off robe up and back to the bedroom. I see the time of my uber and retrieve my clothes for today. I grab my messenger bag and place my needed things inside. Grrrr.... I might have dozed off, it's like 7:30a and I decide to brush my teeth again. Lol I check my email and see that I'm to arrive 20 minutes early and so I call and adjust my time for pickup. OMG, it actually feels a bit nippy. I grab a old silk windbreaker and head out to meet my driver. Oh no... he's a talker and he's rather annoying. Lol traffic is backed up and my driver is like "WHATEVER ".... I just take a deep breath. I arrive at 1520 and head in... for some reason I don't quite recall where I go for my ultrasound. I'm greeted by a friendly security guard who directs me down the hall to the elevators and I begin to press the button for the lower level when 2 female doctors rush to the elevator and they greet me with a GOOD MORNING. I reply and I ask for the ultrasound department and they literally walk me in the direction of the department and wish me well. I walk up to the desk and was greeted once again with a smile and cordial greeting, extremely professional. I was invited to take a seat and was informed that they were a bit delayed and that I would not be too much longer. I was called probably no more than 10 minutes by Ana a very welcoming and professional technician. I was walked into a lab and handed a gown and asked to remove everything from the waist up and place the gown opening from the back. Another stellar ultrasound. Ana asked about my day and if any symptoms were being experienced? ... Ana was impressed by my ability to hold my breath and ask how I developed this skill. I shared that I swam in grade school and school and jr. high and so on... she shared how as a child she did aquatic dance? She laughed as she spoke of her "Russian coach" ... and how if she felt that you didn't perform to the best of your abilities then she would yell at you and punish you. Lol she was funny, I shared how my coaches would react when we lost and we both chuckled because we just knew. Tomorrow I get to return to keck for my follow up with dr. Lipman and I'm thinking that I might get my covid booster tomorrow. I checked out the pharmacy right here and the wait was about 30 minutes. I was already feeling kinda exhausted. Tomorrow then!

I got a chance to visit this year 2024 when my cousin Jerico N Dimataga finally got his Bachelor's degree in Engineering. I love the campus, I love the vibe. I love the students, the teachers, and all the employees. It is a jewel in LA lifestyle, and really relevant in enrichment for youth and lifting up the people. Way to grow from humblest Methodist beginnings to I guess investing in Los Angeles and taking care of wants and needs of basically your constituency, and what and whom you want to represent, especially in helping solve our planet's problems. This is a cautionary tale:…read more Cal State LA's downtown location is a nice facility with some programs designed to help you acquire your degree. Unfortunately, their care, cost, and execution are lies. My wife is finishing up her bachelor's degree this semester and has talked to counselors many times during her 2 years as a Golden Eagle. CSULA has waited until now, weeks into her final semester, to inform her that they will not accept a general education class and one of the major courses does not count (which was selected by the program, not her). This means we will pay for the "all inclusive" program and now for additional classes out of pocket for her to finish her degree. I toured schools with her and while CSULA put people out that said they cared, they actually are unable to care for their students because they lack the ability to council them and provide the degree they advertised. If you are considering CSULA's downtown program for convenience, I beg you to consider elsewhere, as they have left us high and dry to pay a premium for these night classes, but also pay for additional classes now that they have mismanaged her schedule over the course of 2 years. It seems it would be easy for educators and administration to admit their fault and offer to correct the problem under the cost of the special program, but instead we have been met with an explanation that amounts to "this is a YOU problem" and a hands off attitude. I hope their professors leave for other schools and their program implodes so that others can learn from great professionals while not getting swindled by what's apparently a greedy administration who has used this opportunity to upsell additional courses. In dealing with many people who can or could choose to fix this problem, Debra Meir is the one with the ability and position to solve this problem. She is largely responsible for being the person who is not accepting school accountability for mismanagement of scheduling, lacking oversight of courses needed, and adding additional cost to an "all in one price" program.
