Long overdue review: We have been doing Soccer2gether for 3+ years. At the recommendation of a friend, we signed up for S2G after a negative experience with another local soccer program, and S2G was EXACTLY what we were looking for at age 4-5. It's a great introduction to soccer that isn't a "league" where the focus inevitably becomes who wins/loses. As others have noted, Coach Nitzi is outstanding. From the first practice, he knew my name and my son's name, and we immediately felt part of a community. Fast forward to present day and we have done all the S2G offerings -- classes, camps, winter indoor soccer. My son has turned into quite the soccer player and S2G absolutely contributed to both his skill development and his love of the game. It's a great option for families who are pretty serious about soccer (like we are), but also for kids who just want to have fun -- it really is a range and Coach Nitzi is able to accommodate and challenge all skill levels. He has great awareness and is very adept at dealing with a large group of kids with different learning styles and personalities. I say this with great admiration as a fellow soccer coach with much less patience. ;-) All to say, if you are looking for a soccer option that is not a league, or an option to supplement your kid's league seasons, or a great camp option, I highly recommend S2G! read more

Coach Nitzi creates a welcoming, inclusive, safe, and fun environment. This is the one camp my son did last year that asked for again, and after 1 day of camp this year, he was already asking to do it again next year. The coaches connect with the kiddos and teach soccer fundamentals but also balance it out with fun games and some youth led activities, which is the best way to introduce soccer while ensuring play. These are the moments kids remember, impactful for sure. In addition, the individualized care is something to note and one all parents appreciate. Last year my son was having bad grass allergies, and Coach Nitzi made sure to stay in regular communication with me and went out of his way to help my son stay comfortable and active. read more

My 5 year old is in Soccer2gether for the 3rd season. We switched from another more serious club in Oakland (yet it had inconsistent, unqualified, teenage coaches) and this was a much better fit for a kid just learning and not super confident. We've had both coach Nitzi and Coach Peyman and they, and their teenage helpers, are great. Very playful and low pressure, but focused on teaching fundamental skills in a fun way. There are no scrimmages in the 4-5 30 min classes which is perfect for this age. I would recommend this soccer club to any kids first starting out in particular! Coach Nitzi is also extremely protective in communicating, and during the crazy rains, scrambled to find an indoor solution. We have had nothing but the best experience here. read more

We love Coach Nitzi! On the admin side, he is so reliable and organized. On the human side, he is all heart and fun. My son says he likes the scrimmage, the coaches, and meeting other kids, and says it's fun to play against his friends! He's learning valuable skills with less pressure than a full team season, and once he joins a team he'll be much more confident with skills and strategy. It is a bit of a pain to drive from Oakland to the different places in Berkeley, where they hold their classes, but overall we feel it's worth it! I highly recommend Soccer2gether for East Bay soccer instruction for children!
