On multiple occasions we would show up for our lesson and nobody would be there! Once--maybe, but on several occasions? Unacceptable. We would reschedule and it would happen again. We asked for a refund and were told we would get one. It has been over two years and still no refund. We have called, emailed, sent text messages and they have not even had the courtesy to respond. They are unreliable & unprofessional and we are very disappointed. It's a shame because Karen is a great instructor!

By the end of the week, she was confident on the surfboard and in the ocean. The instructors are awesome with kids; encouraging and positive. At the start of our lesson, we did a warm-up/stretches to make sure our body was ready before surfing. Then, we reviewed how to get up on the board and balance/positioning techniques. I asked a lot of questions on surfing etiquette, conditions, safety getting out, etc. and Dan was helpful in answering all of them. I liked us progressive way of teaching as the lesson went in and my skills/confidence improved. We took a little break as I got tired and the waves got a big bigger (since I feel more comfy on smaller waves)...and then went back out to catch a few more. We called asking about longboards and Tony told us to come in and check out what he has. As soon as we walked in, I felt uncomfortable. He was looking me up and down and it felt he was already assessing my level of ability based on size. When we told Tony we were looking for boards he suggested soft top boards. Not a problem but we told him we had been learning on glass boards and preferred looking at those. He then proceeded to say "Oh! So you're popping up and riding waves? Wow. Not to sound like I'm better than you but most people who learn from non professionals are already doing 5/6 things wrong..." I then immediately walked out. Tony was extremely disrespectful and made my husband and I both uncomfortable. Do not recommend coming in at all. Highly would suggest not coming in if you are a woman of any larger build. Come on, Tony. Do better, please.
