But after someone has said no multiple times, there shouldn't be that much pushback. The membership was a good deal, but I just didn't need a whole month of car washes. I was also in a rush to get somewhere afterward, and I ended up feeling like I had to give in just so I could move on with my day. It was honestly a really uncomfortable interaction. I've always had good experiences at this location, so this was disappointing. The older gentleman working there made me feel pressured instead of helped, and it honestly made me not want to come back.

The very next morning, I walked out in the daylight to find my 2018 Nissan Altima completely covered in hundreds of uniform, parallel, vertical micro-scratches. It is the textbook definition of damage caused by a dirty, malfunctioning, abrasive mechanical cloth drum. When I reached out to corporate, a customer experience agent named John tried to completely gaslight me. He sent a generic, copy-paste denial email claiming the scratches were "pre-existing" and that the wash just "made them more noticeable because the car is now clean." Let me be crystal clear: his explanation is a flat-out lie and an insult to my intelligence. This vehicle was located in Maui from 2021 until very recently, where it was exclusively and meticulously hand-washed. It has NEVER been through an automated machine tunnel in its life until I made the mistake of trusting Soapy Joe's. The paint was flawless before entering their tunnel, and ruined the second I left it. John then tried to claim that because "no other drivers reported damage that day," it couldn't have been their equipment. It was 7:00 PM on a Saturday night--other drivers didn't see it because it was pitch black outside, exactly like me! To top off the absolute disrespect, John openly admitted they have the video footage proving my car went through, but flatly refused to let me see it, telling me I have to file an insurance claim and pay a $500 deductible just to force them to show it. They are a massive franchise all over San Diego pocketing membership money while actively damaging people's property and using automated corporate scripts to cover their tracks. Do not bring your vehicle here unless you want your paint destroyed and your sanity questioned. Absolute scammers.

As a result, water and cleaning solution sprayed into my car, soaking me, my driver's seat, and my phone, which was sitting on my lap. I was furious, but I stayed polite and focused on making sure I didn't roll into the car in front of me. All the attendant said was "oh let me know when ur in neutral." Really?!? That's it?!? I had to go straight to my appointment completely soaked, along with the inside of my car. When I came out afterward and tried to plug in my phone, it had issues charging because it had gotten wet during the wash. This entire situation was completely avoidable!!! Staff should ensure customers are actually ready before sending vehicles into the wash. It felt rushed, careless, and showed a lack of attention to customer safety and property.
