It's open to the public for certain events throughout the year. We were here on St. Patrick's Day where a minuscule cover of $3 was charged. Beer prices were cheap and staff friendly. As you can imagine in St. Patrick's Day they were jam packed but the bartenders never lost their cool, never made you wait long and were nice. The crowd was crazy-fun and just a good time all around. The decor is older and lots of wood and kitschy stuff about including Kennedy family pics. Nice little gem in the city.

You truly have to be a member to go in. It's not fancy but would be a good place to hang with friends for a drink. The part where the reception was a nice size. There is a big dance floor and our tables weren't cramped which was wonderful. The bathrooms are nice, clean, and well lit. The bar is big and fully stocked. We had 2 bartenders. The food was really good. We had roast beef and Lemon Chicken Romano. Both were juicy and nice portion sizes. The presentation of the food was nice. I think everyone cleaned their plates. That's a sign of good food. The moms of the bride and groom had a huge cookie table. (One of my fav things about the Burgh). The venue displayed them nicely. However the best part was just how efficient and extremely nice the servers were. Good service is hard to find. This was definitely a great first impression.

They had a banjo band playing! You heard that right -- a banjo band! And... you they were good! Sorta gave me a Haufbrau house kinda vibe. Our fish came ( I got the small and it was plenty). The fries were good and the slaw is mayo based ( for those the are interested). Def make this one of our stops next year!

I got there around 5:20 and I wasn't very close to the front of the line. But because of the wait it was nice to talk to the people around you in line. There were even girl scouts selling cookies to everyone waiting which I thought was genius. They have a big fish sandwich and a small fish sandwich and then you get two sides. You can get stewed tomatoes, mac and cheese, coleslaw, or fries. They might have different mains other than the fish sandwiches but I usually just go for that so I don't think I looked at anything else. It is cash only but there's an ATM on site and you can order ahead for pickup. But if you have the time I would say sit and wait and hang out there because they have a banjo band that will also play polka. It's a really great experience and the food is delicious. Just know that you might wait a little bit but it's worth it.
