Not pleased that they had 3 different sound tracks going on and you could barely concentrate on the relevant commentary. Not pleased by the unfriendly and frankly hostile bouncers imposing themselves on the friendly folk. Very not pleased that they did not have any sound for the Irish National Anthem, yet they did for the English. NOT IMPRESSED at all..... felt really sorry for those who were in front of TV's and screens that were turned onto another game after 15 minutes. Disaster and will not go back

They carry a large selection of great beers on tap and you must try the local ones from Theakstons Brewery... I loved their Best Bitter and their Old Peculier (yep - that's the right spelling). Decent pub food (sorry... "bar" food). Excellent fish and chips (tons of french fries)... super hot chili (on top of a mound of fries) and also had a decent chicken burger - with a huge side of fries... The place gets packed right at the end of the work day with locals and visitors... diverse mixed crowd (both suits and construction workers). They have a pretty standard bar selection, prices are around average. One gripe - unless you're a seasoned pro, I'd avoid the poker tables, things can get serious and a little heated, nothing too major, just the odd raised voice. But these are off to one side and can be easily avoided if you're just coming to play pool. A fun night out.

There are offers on each day in this bar, for example, Monday is burger day with a wide choice of decent burgers, Thursday is steak day with a choice of steaks. etc. Most of the offers are for two people and usually include a drink or a bottle of wine. Worth a visit! The restaurant (booking advised) provides a more upmarket choice of food in pleasant surroundings, the food is very good though the service can be a little slow if they are busy. The choice is extensive with some interesting combinations on the menu. I would recommend this restaurant.

Speaking of Reds, that's pretty much how I'd describe the branding vibe here, only they're preaching footie and boxing and other sports over ribs. What did I like? The bar staff -- these guys were really solid and good fun. Hard working, fair at the bar (I hate it when they don't serve in order), and made a damned fine drink. Before even getting started, he asked how I like my daiquiris: nice. I said a teensy touch on the sweeter side, but not crazy. To established cocktail folk, I guess that doesn't sound amazing. However, you'd be surprised how hard it actually is to get a decent one -- even though they should always be a basic balance -- so for that I was really chuffed. Clientele weren't my scene, but it was Friday night? Anyway. If you want a good cocktail, seems like they've that covered... which feels a bit strange when surrounded by spray tanned ex-Gatecrashers (I'm guessing?) next to Liverpool vs Arsenal (the first teams I could think of) but perhaps this quirky mix is part of the charm. FYI Tia Maria can work instead of Kahlua. They have created an outdoor area for the summertime which as a location has much to be desired (right next to a very busy road) but is still nice enough to be in the sun. The bar itself inside is nothing to write home about and is a little dark for my taste but they do have a pool table and a table football (not many have these too and I enjoy it a lot). I will be going back here, especially as it is dangerously on my walk home from work.
