I'm not sure what the previous poster experienced, but our family's experience has been very different. Our daughter has attended for more than 2 years. The school is very well structured, with an excellent balance of circle time and sharing time vs. free play. They do fun things like put on music and have "dance parties." They play games such as musical chairs and hot potato. There is a sharing day every Wednesday where children bring two or more toys - one for them and one to share with a friend. This really helps them to learn to share without it feeling like so rough that you have to hand your favorite toy to someone else. There is just about every possible toy and educational manipulative you could ask for in this school. The children have just tons of options. They also get new toys and games throughout the year and build them in to the program.
The older children (usually around age 3 to 3 1/2 and up) are given instruction in writing and reading, with terrific results but very little pressure. It seems to flow naturally from the environment. I've been really surprised by how much she is learning. They have been working on counting and basic addition and subtraction too.
Also, what I really loved at this place is that the inside space is huge. It looks so small from the outside, but there is tons of room inside, much more than anywhere else we looked.
The teachers are very loving and my daughter gives them hugs almost every day on the way out. They will let you know if your child is having a behavior problem or some particular issue, but I think this is very helpful. It is better to know and work together for the benefit of the child. There is a hot lunch every day along with two snacks. Students keep a change of clothes for emergencies, and I've never once had a problem anything related to that.
The tuition is extremely affordable as the owner has had the building for many years and doesn't have to pay high rent or mortgages like other schools. This is really helpful. Also, the owner will work with you if she has space available to start part-time and ease into full-time if you are going back to work or looking for work. Her flexibility on this was an enormous help for our family.
The only thing that could use some improvement is the carpet. It is very clean, but dated.
Overall, this is an excellent place for kids to just be kids - to play, laugh, and learn. They also learn to respect other children, to share, to eat healthy, and to take daily naps. It's been great. read more
