You can find them at various farmers markets throughout the state, but you can also now find them at the relatively new Woodinville farm. This smaller farm serves as a base of operations for Puget Sound. But it is a working farm, and the Tonnemaker grow many vegetables right here. Cucumbers (when they are in season) are also available as you pick here. The farm stand sells the produce from both Woodinville and Royal City. It's open a couple days of the week in the early season, then moves to a seven day a week schedule as the season progresses. Everything here is fresh and organic--and delicious! The veggies themselves are super fresh and it's a great variety. We've definitely had more variety when we were in CA since it's bigger farms but we still walked away with chard, Tokyo Bekana, 2 types of lettuce, delicious beets, herbs and more. Super happy to have access to the fresh veggies for the remainder of the season and having it be an interactive family outing and learning for our 2.5yo daughter. Stephanie and Claire are amazing and have such great customer service. Due to the heatwave we brought our fruit from the Redmond market in and in our rush, we forgot it there and by the time we got back, someone took it on accident. Stephanie called all the members with fruit pickups to see who mistakenly took it. To our surprise they found the person the day later and we're getting our fruit! (Was super sad since I couldn't find cherries and stone fruit of the same caliber at PCC yesterday).

If you are unable to find street parking, Redmond Town Center offers a free parking garage that is only a short walk away, making parking convenient overall. I absolutely love the Redmond Saturday Market. It is one of my favorite places to visit on the weekends. They always have fresh produce with a great selection of fruits and vegetables, along with many local vendors selling handmade jewelry, artwork, baked goods, and other unique products. Further down the lot, you'll eventually see the white tents. There's plenty of parking for the market, which is a win. I've been here a few times, and Redmond Saturday Market is one of the few markets on the Eastside that has my favorite cheese, Samish Bay Creamery. Now, I specifically come to the Redmond Saturday Market to get my blocks of gouda and will walk through the market to see what other goodies I can find. But honestly, the fact that they have this particular vendor has me coming back. The market is small, but has a variety of vendors, such as prepared foods, farmers, artisan crafters, etc. There's a covered eating area in the middle of the parking lot, which is nice, especially since we're nearing fall. When I shop there, I mostly concentrate on their dry goods such as sauces in jars, sweets, and easy to cook foods like frozen perogies (dumplings). Amongst the sweets, the Polish Wawel Mieszanka Krakowska chocolate covered jelly candy is a welcome treat. I enjoy wafer treats, so the Roshen wafers from Ukranine is my choice. I haven't had much luck with their produce; I skip them. (FYI: The business uses the Yelp photos to post the latest produce that has arrived, which is perfectly legitimate. But because they don't delete the previous photos, the Yelp photos suggest they may have a bigger produce section than they actually have at a given time. I was confused the first time I stepped in.) The shop is located in a strip mall with plentiful parking. The space is older, which I honestly don't care as long as it is clean. I don't require much service since I only need to pay and go. For me, this store doesn't serve the deli or the produce function in its name. But I do enjoy exploring their different items and choosing something new-to-me to try. That is good enough.

I've walked around this trail a couple times in the past. It's good to walk here when it's not peak…read moredaylight hours as there's not much shade then. This year I finally participated for the first time in the popular U-pick blueberries at the farm! They have a larger one at Mercer Slough too, but I heard it got more crowded there and decided to try Lake Larsen instead. I went on a Sunday morning before peak hours at around 10 am, so there wasn't a line or crowd. Price is 2.50 per lb and the minimum is 2 lb, so if you pick less than that you need to pay a flat rate of $5. I thought the price was pretty reasonable, even with the minimum 2lbs, you got a LOT of blueberries. It's a fun experience, being able to hand-pick fruit yourself and to take it home and either eat it, bake it, turn it into a jam, etc.. They also have a produce market later in the day where they sell fresh vegetables from the farm. The farm is well maintained, the area wasn't muddy when we arrived and it was pretty clean. They give you a pail to pick blueberries and then you can weigh it at the end once you're done. If you don't want your berries touching the bottom of the bucket, I'd recommend getting some bags or plastic grocery bags from home to put them in. You don't need gloves as the trees are around our height and don't have thorns or anything. Website recommended bringing bug repellant. There is a sign saying there are active wasps/bees nests; I didn't see any around, but it's probably better to be cautious and watch the ground as you walk. Don't know how it took me so long to finally visit the blueberry farm, but I'm definitely coming again every year! Super fun experience

I've been a former member of Root Connection for 4 years now and was so sad to see Claire et al…read moreretire from the business. But when Alex and his crew came, I was so happy that he kept the UPick element from Root Connection and a lot of the produce was still the same which was wonderful. There were also great additions. The highlight in the summer was definitely the cherry tomatos. They were plentiful and so sweet, I can't go back to any other tomato again! Ecolibrium did so much to accommodate the members and they did amazing for their first run. They even heard our suggestions to switch the layout for pick ups where we can now directly pick from the bins. Kate and Helen are amazing and such a huge help at the front end of the store. They also stock from other local farmers. Their milk and chocolate milk is soooo good. I did the full share for summer and full share for winter. My suggestion for winter would be to decrease the price point and not have a UPick because it was challenging for me while pregnant to pick in the rain and I skipped a lot of UPick opportunities. I recall Root Connection didn't have a UPick either... maybe for the reason of bad weather. I personally might skip the winter share if the price point were the same. I also didn't think there was enough variety for the winter but what was produced was top quality and I never felt the weather had affected the quality of the harvest itself. I might be open to another winter share if there were some adjustments made but still overall a 5 star worthy place! If you're considering a CSA membership, please consider Ecolibrium. It might seem expensive but for the yield of what you're getting and the quality, I think it's worth it! They also produce for local restaurants too like Deru in Kirkland!
