I was told, not asked and no discussion about final charges. I was told if the final charges were not paid, he would file whatever so I couldn't get an occupancy permit to open and/or file a lien against the property owner.
Never discussed with me, no prior notice, I made a few changes to electrical, I was present every single day, well aware of what was being complete. I was present for every inspection, and walked along with each inspector, I even had certified architectural drawings that everyone received well in advance. A Wilkins electric worked past 4 pm once maybe 2 times, started at 9, 9:30 am, no weekends and no pressure from me.
Most of the additional charges were for the demo work that was clearly printed in the drawings, simply removing wiring no longer in use, because new runs were going in place. 1, one item was flagged tethering 20 lights to the ceiling, that prior electrician did not do, that was it, 8,697.42 in additional charges. A Wilkins Electric had 1 electrician onsite, 99.8% of the time. Which meant this same electrician (owners son) had to go up and down the ladder many, many, many times as there was no one on the other end to feed wiring over to to tether the light fixtures. Ceilings are maybe 9-10 ft high. The electrical shunt trip breaker that was required being installed, took 2 hrs to install, i was there and googles for around $800.00.
There were no permit issues, I did the bldg permits and nearly all of the other permits myself, no problems at all.
Additionally as the small business owner there were ceiling penetrations, quite wide, left open, never sealed off, never closed up as the certified drawings specifically mentioned they were to be closed up, along with a sizeable garbage bag of electrical end pieces for me to dispose of.
Also electrical ductwork for the kitchen exhaust fan never sealed, rain water leaked into my commercial kitchen space and I had to pay roofers $175 to correct, which I have proof of to post if I get questioned or something legal comes my way.
Problem with 220 receptacle, emailed A Wilkins Electric in February 2025, never a word back, again proof I can post if needed.
Didn't matter I tipped the only onsite electrician $200 as a small thank you. Note to myself to never do again, under any circumstances until all work and all billing is completed, and contractor fully cleans up. I was also left with a 16 lb bag of electrical remnants I had to find a way to dispose of.
