Came here for my cousins graduation. Typical arena with lots across the street or down the street about 3-5 minutes. Seats Thousand Oaks of people and anywhere you sit is a great view of the stage. They have attendants helping and security machine you'll walk through. They don't like people crowding the front and pathways so make sure you move fast. They have student shops on the sides as well and it's pretty easy to navigate overall. read more

Came here for the Jonas Brothers, venue was clean and new inside. Big enough to enjoy the show but intimate enough to have a great view! We sat in the loge section 125 and had a CLEAR view of the stage. It also was a little warm inside the venue but once I took my jacket off I was fine. Sound quality was also good and they had large screens which I appreciated to see the performer's better. Merch lines went fast and no bathroom lines which was nice. Plus they sell drinks, snacks--your average stuff at a venue. We found parking about a 10 minute walk away and it was street parking so we didn't have to pay after a certain time which was nice. It was cold outside so walking was a little annoying but better than paying a huge price for parking. Overall great experience at this venue I would come back! read more

We parked a few streets over on the street and paid the meter. $38 FOR TWO BEERS, then they ask for a 20% tip for just cracking the lid. Such a disappointment. Had the time of my life at Phish in the box suites. The service we had was exemplary and the box itself was amazing. The slider hamburgers were great. The soft jumbo pretzels were great. The strawberry lemonade on tap was great. The box was fully sticked with grey goose, herradurra, jack daniels, poland springs, seltzers, and more. Also, they should mention that there are strobes, flashing lights etc so people know before they spend many hours to attend ceremonies they can't engage in because of said lighting and sound. It's a surprisingly spacious graduation venue. I was surprised with the number of people it was able to hold, but the space does get warm very quickly. You can feel the temperature change as you transition from room to room or from level to level. Given the space, its relatively comfortable to be in without feeling claustrophobic. Parking situation is pretty terrible. Both trying to find a parking spot or trying to leave after an event is over can be challenging. If you don't mind walking a few minutes, there is some street parking available. Security seemed pretty standard with a metal detector and some guards scanning individuals coming in. read more

We just saw Sebastian Maniscalco here- the show was awesome!- the venue was not! We had floor seats that were tricky to get to. We could not find anyone to direct us to our seats. He sold us on these cute souvenir plastic mason jars! When we got to the floor we were told by the usher that the plastic mason jars weren't allowed on the floor and that we had to empty our drinks into plastic cups! Attended the NCAA Regionals and the arena needs some serious upgrades. Ice was in terrible condition despite it being in the 50s outside. Goalie nets kept getting dislodged every couple of minutes delaying the game. Fans weren't happy either. Seats in the 200s were obstructed from the railing. Very odd design with the railings up there. The bathrooms kept getting locked up on the 200level which was extremely frustrating for fans during intermission. Some were confused as to why it was locked despite people coming out. Music kept playing even after the face-off, took until the second game for them to figure out how to use the mixer. We were then trapped for 60 minutes in between games and re-entry was not allowed! Absolutely ridiculous. There's nothing to do in this arena and the concessions were awful. Paid $11 for 2 bottles of water. I paid less at March Madness basketball the week before. Parking is also brutal around the arena. Some off street places were charging $45 cash which was about the same prices as the tickets. Ended up driving around a few blocks and found a spot. Give yourself enough time to navigate through the traffic. NCAA shouldn't consider hosting the regionals in Manchester. Heck this would have been much better overall being played at the Whittemore Center in Durham. I mean after all UNH was the hosting school. I've been to the regionals in Providence and Worcester and it was much better environment. The games were a lot of fun but the arena conditions took away from the overall experience. read more

The arena was built and the city planners *intentionally* rejected the idea of an on-site parking facility because they insisted that making patrons park somewhere along Elm Street would encourage patronizing many downtown restaurants & other businesses. The box office and security staff are fabulous. Bought tickets to see Cirque du Soleil Crystal - the Cirque show on ice. Bought the tickets in April for an August show. Spent almost $1k for 7 tickets. Lo and behold, a couple weeks before the show, my dad fell, broke a hip and was in a wheelchair for the show. The box office and security staff helped us exchange our seats - at no charge. And actually exchanged all 7 seats, so that the family could sit together. Security allowed dad to bring beverage in to the arena. So he would be able to take his meds. I had had a nightmare conversation with ticket center trying to exchange the tickets. But SNHU treated us with dignity and respect. read more

I went to the Jim Gaffigan concert last Saturday night. We arrived early and got food, I got a cheese burger which was surprisingly delicious! We sat in our seats, but be careful to sit in your section. Look up before sitting and make sure the section listed at the top is correct. It can be confusing. We heard the music playing which was fun but then it stopped working. A song would start then stop. New song start then stop...for like 15 mins! Then during the show, the TVs were flickering the whole time and even went out a couple times. This is unacceptable, especially when this should have be tested out before people arrive to make sure it is functioning properly. Whomever is in charge of the media, please do a better job of testing and retesting the equipment. read more

Quite simply the sound is horrible for concerts. From their first concert until now, it does not appear they have done anything about it, even though they get regular complaints. It is no wonder this mismanaged venue is turning into a Manchester white elephant. read more

SNHU ARENA I've been here several times for concerts, Monarchs hockey games, Wolves (disbanded) arena football games, and other special events. SNHU Arena (formerly Verizon Wireless Arena) is a good place to watch sporting events and the circus since the arena is not large with about 11,000 seats and most seats have pretty good views of the action. The security staff does a good job at keeping the crowds in check. As for concerts, the lineups coming here have been pretty solid including Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, Fifth Harmony, Poison, Def Leppard, 3 Tenors, and many others. However, I've been a bit disappointed (not with the lineups/acts) since the acoustics are not very good. For instance, I attended a Britney Spears concert here in 2004 and the sounds were bouncing off the ceiling sounding like I was in a large tin can. If I can, I prefer attending concerts at TD Garden in Boston and at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY where the acoustics sound better to me. This is still a better place to see a concert (sound) than the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. Overall, I'll continue to see my favorite music acts & bands here, cheer on the home teams and enjoy the Monarchs games at this nice little venue. read more

Doors were supposed to open at 2:00 for a 3:30 show. SNHU staff kept saying the band (TSO Orchestra) was late, and the band wouldn't allow them to open the doors? Baloney! The band doesn't own the arena. The doors should have been opened at or near the announced time of 2:00. Instead, SNHU staff were extremely rude. They provided no information, except to say they could not tell anyone when the doors would open. They kept almost 10,000 people, including a good number in wheelchairs, or using walkers or canes, out in the cold until after 3:00. When we were finally allowed inside, no one made any apologies. Also, the corridors were filled with greasy smoke from the food stands. It was like walking through a smelly fog. Terrible venue. read more

The venue itself is a good place to see a show. The arena has an intimate feel that you don't really get from stadiums, etc. If you are placed on the second level than prepare to make a haul down stairs to use a restroom. Mind blowing, I know. Unless you're seating in the "club/suite" than the second floor restrooms are off limits. Strike one. The vendor that they use for their food and beverage, "savor.." shameful. The lines are insanely long. If you want a drink and think going during intermission is a good idea? Think again. You probably should start waiting in line the day before. There was a point where I observed a gentleman who worked for the vendor pouring beers into a cup where half of the cup was a foam head and not using all of the beer in the can. I mean holy moly. People are paying astronomical prices for beers and not even getting their monies worth. And to top it off half of the Cupid foam. Strike two. Strike three? Well, there isn't one as of yet. We will have to see how the next visit goes.. read more

Got the biggest run around from any venue I have ever gone to. Was told on the phone that buying tickets directly from the venue/ticket master was cheaper then buying them elsewhere. That is great news but however I get there on this recent Mothers day to purchase such tickets as the monster truck event was still going on. Went to the front door and was told by staff that it closes 10 minutes before the event ends. Wasted a lot of time driving there to go home empty handed. I think ok fair enough we got there to buy tickets at 2:15 and the event stopped at 2:30. Got caught in the traffic from the event ending at that time and seeing everyone leave also at that time. My brother who is legally blind calls up SNHU and gets this lady named Cathy on the phone. Says to him "buy cheapest tickets at the start of the event and they'll be upgraded" just say Cathy sent you. This is for Wrestling that happened on June 4th. Again sounds fair enough and we show up to said event. Now we go to ticket lady and she of course gets a confused look and of course doesn't know any said Cathy. Oh great!! Now she goes and talks to said manager, insists still nothing known of said Cathy. She even goes as far to say that she has been working there for 12 years and that the Monster Truck event stopped at 2:00. First of all I have been working in customer relations for 10 years I know the tricks. Second of all if the event stopped at 2 then please explain why everyone was leaving at 2:30. It was mothers day and while you won't say it but I am sure you left early to enjoy such day. Now the kicker is that we get handicapped seating because again my brother is legally blind, there is also a person with down syndrome. Yet the handicap seats didn't accommodate someone who is legally blind. My brother had to watch the show through his phone. The other thing is you couldn't leave the building and re-enter it. Now it could be me but what if someone you love or and a family member forgot say an epy pen, their incilin in the car and someone went to retrieve it. Sorry can't leave even for a medical reason and come back. The whole bright side was the tickets were worth the experience of the event itself. Other than that it was a disaster read more

I actually liked coming here for a recent concert, because: 1.) the concert was NOT at the cavenous TD Garden, 2.) the concert was NOT at the challenging to get into/and out of Gillette Stadium, 3.) it was so easy to get into a parking lot before the show, and then after the show, make a quick exit onto the highway. The acoustics were comparable to the other stadium venues I've been at, heck it's not Symphony Hall. The only downside is that during intermission, I couldn't walk all the way around to stretch my legs as I could at some of the other stadiums. I would come back for another concert for the convenience factor alone. read more

Great Arena, easy to find all seats are decent, since it isn't a large venue. Plenty of parking in the garage across the street (typically $20 for an event at the Arena) or in impromptu event lots around the venue. My husband and I went here to enjoy the Monster Truck show which was fantastic. After the show, the hallways were packed full of people rushing to leave. I am still recovering from a leg injury and can't walk fast so we waited. As we were waiting a security woman came up, snapped her fingers and said "we have another show you need to leave now." We tried explaining pur situation but she literally stood in front of us and stared awkwardly until we left. Not at all handicapped sensitive, very unprofessional. read more

Great mid size arena. They get some decent shows when they play secondary markets. Awesome arena to watch hockey and its never over crowded with all the seats where you can actually see all sides of the rink. It's easy it navigate around the arena and there's plenty of parking outside of the arena. Parking is usually $20-$25 bucks around there and there is a lot of street parking for $1 also. The event staff is very friendly and there are lot of options to eat outside of the arena. It's always nice to see some quality hockey and not pay $100+ for a bleacher seat. The kids playing may not be stars now but they will be in a few years. You can say I saw him in the minors back when. Great atmosphere for kids. read more

Went to see a concert at SNHU. First, trying to find parking in the area is a chore. We had to park several blocks away on a back street. Obnoxious staff all the way around, from the ticket staff, to the ushers to the security clowns. They routinely allow wealthy patrons who park in the VIP area to literally nose their Escalades through the crowds trying to get out of the exit doors that dump into that lot. Boston prices for the concessions, dirty bathrooms, bad traffic flows in and out of events, and everyones favorite, sky high ticket prices. Quite possibly some of the worst acoustics and sight lines ever foisted on an arena. Many artists use this as a low cost place to rake some cash up and often leave their full shows in Boston, or send them on to the next big venue. Reduced shows are the absolute norm in this low grade hole. Unless you know for sure that the artist appearing is using their actual sound system, and their actual sound personnel avoid shows at this tub like the plague. read more

Good - Easy to park on a side street, easy to get in the door with Ticketmaster phone app, security was fine, lots of helpers to get you to your seat, event started on time. Good stuff Not so good - I'm so uncomfortable with the amount of merchandise crap these venues always have available at ridiculous prices. I really feel for the parents with little kids that don't know how to say no. Also, I wish these types of venues would diversify their food/beverage offerings. Piece of Crap! Got tickets for Def Leppard on the second floor. Sound is terrible, there was no bathroom on my floor. Only 3 bathrooms for 10k people and only about 8 beer stands for the same amount of people. Only one merchandise tent, and did I mention the sound is horrible? Fight broke off between 2 girls no security or event staff to help them out they fought for about 5 minutes till someone finally helped. I go frequently to Monarchs games here. This place is underutilized. It could host more teams for New England second/third tier sports. Look, this is Manchester, NH. While our city is on the upswing (IMO), this is NOT the TD Center in Boston or anything. So if you're expecting a Madison Square Garden level arena- get your head out of the clouds. It's a second-tier hockey and concert venue. So give it a little break here. The place is easy to navigate, has reasonable parking in the city and ticket prices for a hockey game are fair. While the food and drink vendors are an expensive rip-off, it's a arena, so that's typical in America. All in all. This place (and the Fisher Cats stadium) are a huge asset to the city of Manchester. My crew has spent some good weekend nights going out to eat and then watching some local hockey. It's a great (and relatively cheap) way to spend an evening. It also helps that the Monarchs are a kick-ass team that usually wins. read more

Yes, there was some technical issues (as mentioned by prior reviewer) with music before show but this is just filler music while people are seating so who cares and there was one glitch with the video during the show which did not take away from my experience. Been here often for sports (Monarchs and Wolves) and concerts (Aerosmith, Barenaked Ladies, Rascal Flatts, etc.) and have to say that it is MUCH better as a sports venue. The accoustics just aren't particularly good and the view isn't much better. If you can catch the same concert at a different venue, I would do it. Now, for hockey and football games, this is a great venue and I would recommend to anyone to check it out. The food and beer are not cheap but I'm not sure you can find stadium beer less than 5.50 and a dog for less than 2 bucks anymore. It is clean and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. Review is based on Manchester Monarch games. I've been to a few Monarch games and they have all been good experiences. The area around the arena is easy to navigate and they have solid traffic control near the arena. The arena itself is laid out similar to what you would expect if you have been to other venues. Ticket prices are relatively low for good seats. Pricing of food and beer is on par with professional level sporting events. If you reserve tickets directly from the Monarchs be prepared for calls from staff trying to help you purchase more tickets. Once your name is on the list, they are persistent and will try. They have always been friendly but it can become a bit annoying at times. Overall, we always have a good time. I wish the vending prices were a bit lower, there was a better parking readily available and I wasn't being chased to buy more tickets after the events I attend. read more

This review is based strictly on the Kevin Hart show I attended last night. I am not sure if the terrible experience was due to the arena staff or Kevin Hart's staff but it was completely unacceptable. Prior to the show, I received an email that cameras and phones would not be allowed during the show and if caught, you will be removed from the facility without a refund. Now, I completely understand this policy because as a comedian, you are doing the same act across all shows and do not want it to get leaked. I get it and respect that. However, we arrived at the arena at 6:45 (show was scheduled for 7:00, no one went on stage until about 8:00) and multiple people were already being escorted out because they had their phones out. The couple next to us were using their phone to find their seats because they had the mobile app and when they sat down, someone mentioned that they should put their phone away because they were kicking people out. The couple thanked them and stored their phone in their purse. Five minutes later, the "event staff" ran over to them and asked to them leave and they didn't even have their phone out. They didn't care what the couple said and made them leave and were extremely rude to patrons. I just don't understand how they can ask people to leave, who paid a lot of money to attend a show, when the show wasn't even happening. The signs specifically said no cell phone use DURING the show. To top it off, the sound system was pretty terrible. There were a few comedians that went on before Kevin and you could barely understand them. It was too loud and echoed through the arena. Other times, it was muffled and you could barely hear them talking. Then, when the show was over, the flow of people trying to leave got completely stopped for a good 10 minutes. No one could get out and people started pushing- I can't imagine if there was an emergency or a fire. As my first experience with this arena, I am not sure I will be going back. read more

Watching hockey is decent here because the arena is not too large. Hockey is better in smaller venues like this (under 10,000 seats). (We were in Manchester for the NCAA Northeast Regional.) The experience is made worse by the terrible sound system, the odd hallways that do not permit full access to the second level (cannot walk all the way around the arena) and the world's worst video display. I could deal with all of that but the city of Manchester needs to hire a competent traffic engineer or the arena has to warn people how to best drive from the south. If you exit 293 at the Granite St exit (#5), you should plan to bring extra food and water because you will be stopped in traffic for several days. Leave a little early and use exit 4 (Queen City Avenue) instead. Take a left at Elm to get to the arena. As a professor of electrical engineering, bad engineering really frustrates me. Thus, in addition to bad traffic engineering, I also have to point out the bad electrical engineering at the arena, which may be saving the worst for last. If you can believe it, the Verizon Wireless Arena has bad Verizon Wireless service. For most of the games we saw, the response I got from my two phones (HTC) and that my daughter got from her phone (Apple) were marginal at best and sometimes stopped completely. I point out the variety of technology used to show that it was the arena, not the phones. Manchester is the home to some outstanding technological talent. It is the home of FIRST Robotics and a bunch of other Dean Kamen enterprises, There was a good article in the Globe about the Tech Cluster there.
