One of the most wonderful campsites I've ever been to . The…read moretents and cars are located in something that you could call a garden, with palm trees, rhododendrons (comes in spring, so you can see them blossom, some of them are gigantic!) , very quiet -- but it was off-season so I don't know what it's like in high season. In a distance of not more than three or four minutes by foot you are on the bank of the river, in a Baroque castle garden in French /Italian Baroque style. You feel like you are spending your time in a museum or something similar. The castle itself is being inhabited by the owners and founders of this campsite, so you cannot visit it inside, but you can enjoy the very well-kept garden with very old trees, the river bank, everything in the outside. You can have a bath in the pool, you can enjoy the very clean and well kept kitchen and shower and toilet facilities. Lights in the night are well positioned, so you can find your way in the night end always see beautiful old stones. Right next to the campsite is a golf course of 9 holes, where you can have your first golf tryouts or lessons, if you want -- you can lend bicycles to explore the surroundings -- you can have something to eat in a good restaurant on the ground, the there is a little store, a little bar, you can spend your whole time here. You can go to to Quimper by bike or by bus, it is a very nice little city with a historic center. I spent my time painting in the garden, watching the beavers swim as the tide came in, walking in the old gardens, taking pictures all the time. Lanniron is a bit more expensive than usual camp grounds, but you get much more for that price, too. I was lucky enough to meet the landlady herself, who was so friendly to explain the history of the castle and the campground. The persons at the reception are extraordinarily friendly, and multilingual, you feel like you check in to a five-star hotel that rather than a five-star campground. So if you know what it's worth to have a quiet, decent, historic place to stay at, you should definitely think about coming here.
