They asked each of us why we'd were taking the class and genuinely tried to tailor the experience and instructions to meet as many people's requests and needs as possible which I greatly appreciated. They went above and beyond to make us feel special and took time to answer all of our food and kitchen related questions, even if it didn't relate to sushi. We have tried making sushi at home before but always felt like something was missing or we would struggle with certain aspects of the process. However, many of the people in the course had never made sushi before so this was a great class for beginners of all skill levels! Besides the sushi rice & tempura shrimp tails being pre made and some of the sauce ingredients being pre-portioned out, we made all of the other filling ingredients! We started by learning the best way to julienne a cucumber for sushi rolls & then how to slice up an avocado. Once that was done, we made a marinade for each of our fresh tuna steaks and were able to sear them to our liking! Once all of our ingredients were prepped, we rolled two different sushi rolls, one with shrimp & one with tuna and both were so tasty. What I truly loved was that everyone had their own ingredients to make their own two rolls. This allowed each of us to not only have an abundance of food at the end, but we also got to test our own skills out and learn from hands on experience. I can't wait to bring these new skills to life in my own kitchen. We also got a miso soup at the end which was amazing. This was money well spent and I'm looking forward to more classes in the future!

I thought it was very scenic and that Nicole D. should maybe select a different stable if she were going to complain about the view. I also scheduled a birthday party for my daughter a couple years ago or so, and she and I absolutely loved it! Their horses were sweet and weren't stubborn or cross at all and when we rode, and when we scheduled for our five riders (me, my daughter, a few friends), they responded right away and scheduled it. I do have to admit, though, the ride was quite pricey for such a short ride, in my point of view. I think that Sunnyside should probably charge less as it is quite expensive. IMPORTANT: It does say that there is a minimum of 5 children on the website. Quote, "90 Minutes of horseback riding!! Please contact Ashley 651-895-4039 (text is best) for rates and availability. $45.00 per child, birthday child FREE (minimum 5 riders) or email rodeochick149@yahoo.com" - webpage on birthday parties Last summer, though, my daughter (9 @ party, 10 @ camp) took the summer camp. She said, and voiced this aloud, that she thought that the camp was more geared toward 8-year-olds, rather than the 13-year-old age limit that is said on the site. Apparently there was also a majority of younger kids in her camp and that made it less fun for her because she didn't make very many friends. Her recommendation is for there to be separate camps, one for beginner (6-10) and one for advanced (11-16) or something like that.

I thought maybe we would each make one piece, but we each got to make 4 or 5 bowl-like objects (you got to pick) and to paint them. We also used the break room to order food, since pottery in the morning was hungry work. Northern Clay is giant inside- I had not idea looking at it from the street. There is a parking lot right by the building, so you don't have to worry about street parking. We had a great time, and will be back to pick up or art in 3 weeks! I definitely recommend the group classes or private parties, which came out to ~$50 per person.

The pottery is grouped by artist, which made it easy to limit my browsing to only the styles I liked. I will note that (at least on the day I visited) they very heavily feature artists whose style is natural and rustic, which isn't bad, but for the prices they charge I was looking for something more sophisticated. I know all pottery takes a lot of work, but I'm not going to spend $80 on a misshapen mug. The items do focus pretty heavily on dishes and cups/mugs, which made gift shopping a little difficult, since I wasn't about to buy a surprise dinnerware set for someone. The person manning the front desk was very helpful and brought out more pieces from the back room of artists I liked. She was also able to share with me which pieces were and were not dishwasher safe. I left with a good selection of gifts and would definitely come back again.
