We were both concerned for some of the animals that are not in their natural habitat just wondering if they were too hot. The train ride was a plus because we got to see animals on the other side of the park that would have been otherwise difficult to reach on foot. My favorite were the penguins, the the brown bear ( it was chasing a bird) the butterflies and the kangaroos.

It makes a brilliant day out in the Fresh Air on top of the Chilterns, with views for miles. We are members of the ZSL so can return as often as we like which makes the membership fee much better value. You can pay to enter and if you like the1 vibe, you can offset the cost of the visit against your first year's membership fee which also includes entry to London Zoo. There are elephants, lions, tigers, giraffes, and a large herd of White Rhino. The Chimpanzees have a very large enclosure. You can take the car in, which makes a picnic much easier. Go!

They have three main areas for different age groups ranging from toddlers to 10 yrs, including soft play, swings, slides, ball pools and go-karts. There is also a cafe providing reasonably priced snacks and drinks and also a little toy shop. The entry prices for children are fair ut they do charge for adults which I do not feel is correct. It is in the middle of a industrial estate which is a bit wierd to find but plenty of parking.

The centre has recently undergone a refurbishment and looks great for it. The staff are always really friendly and I take my son swimming here lots. They have a big swimming pool for adults and a toddler pool. Opening times are available on their website. We have also been to the small soft play centre upstairs (they hold kids parties) which is nowhere near as large as Snakes & Ladders in Houghton Regis but great for kids under 5. Much more informal than Houghton Regus also. We by no means use this lesiure centre to its full extent, but its very popular and we come from the otherside of Luton to use it in preference to all Luton's centres. HIghly recommended.

Obviously given the weather we didn't spend much time outdoors, but I was impressed with the size and quality of the wooden outdoor play area, and the Little Tikes outdoor activity area for younger kids looked really good, as did the ride on tractors and trailers. Shaggy's play barn is absolutely fabulous - the slides kept me and the kids entertained for hours - we only stopped sliding briefly for lunch! The kids also really enjoyed feeding the sheep and goats, although being at the age where they still put their fingers in their mouths quite a lot worried me a bit, even though I helped them wash their hands thoroughly - probably just me being paranoid!
