I had the 3-course menu and started with the chèvre salad. The goat cheese came as a small brick wrapped in crispy phyllo dough. The dressing was excellent and that usually makes or breaks a salad for me. Hubby had the beef carpaccio salad; he was very happy with it. For my main I chose coquelet (small rooster?) with mashed potatoes. The meat was tender and juicy and the mashed potatoes were perfect. Hubby had the beef Provençal stew; homey and hearty as this dish should be. For dessert I had tarte tatin, or apple tart. I've had this a few times and this was a solid version. Husband had a noisette (shot of espresso with milk) accompanied by an assortment of small desserts - creme brûlée, chocolate moulleaux (cake) and lemon tart. Each dessert was excellent and I would gladly order a full portion of any of these at this restaurant. The only slight negative was that our waitress was very short with us. Not quite rude, but very obviously tired at the end of a long day and probably tired of dealing with non-French-speaking tourists. Though I do speak a little, and tried, she just wasn't having it. I can't blame her because I empathize with how hard servers work, but we were very nice and don't deserve to be treated as an inconvenience. The older man who was serving along with the woman was very friendly. I highly recommend eating here or at least stopping for a coffee and dessert break.

Our French is very bad and the waiter's English didn't exist. Nevertheless, he was able to figure out what we wanted. Apparently the one guy is the chef, the host, the waiter, and maybe the owner??? We ended up ordering another round of pizza... Overall the meal was amazing. So glad we ended up here. We also ordered a bottle of Rose wine and were it sure what to expect... it was very good. My daughter says, " wow, I'm so happy that we ended up here. This meal was amazing! Best pizza of the entire trip." (She is very very very hard to please.)

But when you are seated on the beautiful and cosy front terrace you imagine yourself being in a little, quiet Provence village. Surrounded by nice plants and trees and protected by large parasols you can enjoy a good meal. It's a grill restaurant but you can have fish as well. There are meals available especially for children. I had a large portion of salmon who was fresh and well cooked. My wife a good size steak. My son's steak tartare whas fresh and well prepared. Desserts where a bit disappointing compared to the very good main courses. My moelleux au chocolat whas a browny heated in the microwave. The fresh fruitsalad had a strange taste to it... But please don't let this stop you visiting this restaurant. It serves good main courses for reasonable prices and the staff is correct.

We had just come from four days in Paris and this three course meal was by far better than anything we had while there. Our reservation was at 8:00 and we were the only people in the restaurant that night. Why this restaurant is not more popular is beyond me because the food, presentation, ambiance and service were all top-notch. It was amazing to us that one man did everything from greet us, to serve us to preparing our meal and collecting payment. A one-man show, and this made it an intimate experience akin to being seated at the chef's table, only better! This was a three course prix fixe meal and each course was expertly prepared and presented and thoroughly delicious! I opted for the 2019 La Nerth Les Cassagnes Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, which was drinking beautifully and a great accompaniment to our sumptuous meal. If you are in or near Avignon I highly recommend you give this restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed!
