My son gets his haircut from big Nate every time and it's perfect every time! Nice vibes inside as well!

Just moved to area couple years ago and this is my go to... Great service and friendly atmosphere

I had Avery do my hair for the first time and I loved how it turned out. I had her do a solid color. I've been growing a bob out. She trimmed my hair and added layers to help with the awkward grow out stage. She asked a lot of clarifying questions to make sure she understood what color I was wanting. read more

Smylie's Barber Lounge - Barbers Near Me - Sutter Creek, California

If you call to book an appointment you'll be directed to their website for scheduling a spot. After you select a person, It's very easy to find an open slot and book it. There is an option to leave a message for a return call if you need to speak to a person. I booked with Chris for a trim and clean up for my daughter's wedding. It's been a while since I've had a proper cut, and I was able to tell the difference right away. Warm towel finish at the end is a very cool touch. I think I found my new spot. read more

Best in the country. I always get compliments on my haircuts. There are a lot of women who appreciate a short style. read more

Avery is the best!!! She just did my hair today and it turned out exactly how I wanted it!!! Definitely found my new hair chick!

I just found my new barber shop. Chris is awesome and I got this cut this morning and already have had several compliments. I will definitely be going to Smylie's again. read more

I have to say it's easily the best barbershop in the area and it's not even close. They're so much better than everyone in the area they're probably #1, #2 and #3. Chris and Brianna are exceptional and just as good as some of the bigger more well known barbershops in areas like Sacramento and they charge basically the same. I've always been really picky about barbers and my hair and I can assure You that you don't need to drive over an hour to Sacramento to get the same high quality bald fade with a straight razor, trust me. read more

I book appointments here for my son on a regular basis with Chris. Every time my son gets his hair cut you can see him beaming with confidence. Chris does such an amazing job navigating my sons widows peak, cowlick, and super straight hair that just grows directly up and out. Amazing work. Highly recommend. read more

Nicole was fabulous. Kind, thoughtful, accommodating and communicative. What a great experience and so thankful to have found a stylist for my father! Thank you thank you! read more

Chris has been cutting my hair for years and never disappoints. I occasionally am forced to get haircuts in Orange County and never as good as Smylie's... Love the new location in Downtown Sutter Creek across from Jon's Pit Stop. read more

Chris rocks! He is a young guy - husband and father and does a great job! I brought my brother "down from the mountain" for a haircut and beard trim for his son's wedding - he was very reluctant to cut his ponytail and his beard was outa control! Chris was very sweet and spent a lot of time cleaning him up - he even trimmed his eyebrows! Chris - I want to thank you so much for what you did that day - my bro looked great and I hope he comes back to see you regularly! Hope you had a great time in Hawaii! read more

Chris is so amazing that the Honey still insists on driving two hours to get his hair cut here. It's just a great lounge-type barber shop where not only can you get your hair cut, but you can grab a beer too. Yep, I said it, BEER!!!! Chris also does woman's cuts and colors and there are other stylists in the lounge as well. read more

I have been hearing about this place for quite some time - I just wish I had visited sooner. I took my son in to get a haircut, which turned out great. Afterward we played 2 rounds of pool and I enjoyed a beer and my son had a root beer. The staff is great and I now I cannot wait until its time for another haircut. Keep up the great work! read more

This small town barber shop is great. My self and my girlfriend have gotten our hair cut here. We love chris he listens and does a good job every time. read more

1 year, 8 hair cuts, and still coming back. Just had another great cut and hot towel treatment today. Not sure what Stacy P. is complaining about. Seems pretty simple to me, If you want a woman stylist to color correct your damaged hair, go to a female stylist. Keep up the great work, Chris! I'm voting you Best of Amador County! read more

While in Sutter Creek for my birthday getaway, we stopped into this spot after being referred by locals once they found out my SO is a Barber. They were so nice in there, and the place was interestingly decorated and had a pool table in the common area by the door. Looks like a family business, as the children were present, and had their own place to play with other friends. The wife cut my SO's hair, and he was pleased. The owner was busy with a regular. They had a dog, so the dog gravitated to me, and climbed up into my lap like a lil baby and fell asleep lol. So adorable! The wife said they can never get her to nap, and was amazed. Hahaha I can put anyone to sleep, from children & animals to my grown Fiancé. Lol!! I'm a Mimi Master!! . We loved this town and this barber shop. We will be back!! read more

My barber is sick so I came here for a cut. Nice atmosphere. Good music. Pool table. Cool artwork. Owners are nice and I got a great haircut. read more

I'm in the "growing out my bangs" phase and just wanted my hair trimmed. I was driving through Sutter Creek and noticed a sign: *Barber.Lounge*Haircuts,Color,Cold Beer*Men-Women-Children* I had to stop. I was pleased to learn this fella does not charge a different trim price based on length of hair; I had to ask twice to believe it because every place I have been in the past uses hair length as a ploy to raise a simple straight trim price! I made an appointment, got my hair cut the next day, and was so pleased with the results!! Chris gave me a proper trim, trimming off 3-4" to make my hair more full than its been in years! He even carefully trimmed my annoying bang stage. I am glad I stopped in and made an appointment ... you should too! read more

Chris has been cutting my hair since I was in my midteens, I'm twenty-three and moved out to Vegas now, but I mean you can't beat the quality! read more

Chris always gives me a great haircut. He remembers me even though I only come in once every other month. He also has a great beer selection. I will often have a beer while he cuts my hair. I have recommended him to many of my friends so I thought I would put a review on here too. read more

Chris has been our community's go-to barber for years now; I stop into his shop a few times a year, and he always greets me by name every time. I can nearly always make an appointment the same day if he doesn't have time to take a walk-in, and it's never a bother to wait with cold beer on hand, a pool table and a comfortable, calm atmosphere. In an area where good business people are hard to find, Chris's shop and his work speak for themselves. Definitely the best place for a haircut in the greater Jackson/Sutter Creek area! read more

Great haircut, great company. Enjoy a good craft beer while you get a cut. Clean store, great beer selection. I will be back!

I only get my hair cut here. I really like the service and it doesn't hurt that you can have a beer while you wait or play pool.

Chris is a great barber. He did a wonderful job on my hair first time out. He is personable and his place has great character. His prices are very reasonable as well. Love the hot towel treatment after the hair cutl. read more

Chris is amazing, very clean and friendly. I will go back for sure. He does a really good job, always taking enough time to clean up.

Was in town and needed to find a good shop. This place is legit and everyone in the place is a solid barber. 100% recommend.

Awesome haircut and great atmosphere. I think Harvard business school grads could take a lesson fr this business. Everytime I come back to Sutter Creek I will come in. I live in Denver Colorado and wish there was something similar out there. read more

Welcoming, laid back environment. Don't let the term "barber lounge" detour you from getting your hair cut here ladies. Nicole is fabulous and listens to what you want. Plus, the pricing is so affordable, $20! Anywhere else you'd be spending upwards of $50 for a women's cut. I highly recommend Smylie's Barber Lounge to everyone! read more

Kris is Fantastic ...best hair cut ever. I'd drive a 100 miles for a decent haircut, and I do!

I have been going to Chris about a year - great cut, hot towel, and relax with a beer!

My husband went here for the first time today. Nicole did an awesome job!! She was quick, competent, and friendly. The price was great, too. I'm glad he has finally found a place where he can count on a great cut! Very cool spot! read more

Now here is a good old barber shop with a few extras. Like pool and beer! Chris is friendly and thorough, right down to the hot towel and eyebrows. He took an 8 month experiment off my head and did a great job. Make sure you call for an appointment - he turned away 2 walk-ins and a few on the phone as well. His prices are wonderful as well! read more
