Whilst in Västervik we decide to give this place a go. We went after getting off a boat from Idö. We managed to get seated at a table, which was a surprise as the place was very busy. The waiting staff were of a high standard and never let the stress they were obviously under (there was only two of them) show. I order the wood pigeon with fried parsnips. I'm not normally a fan of parsnips but I love pigeon so I rolled with it, the dish was great. After a was a cheese board with some of the best cheeses I've ever had. Thanks to our great waiter, I now have the names of these cheeses and have managed to find one of them here in Stockholm. In Västervik then go to this restaurant, probably the best in the town. read more

This charming little place is tucked away just off the beautiful harbor. They have a quaint outdoor seating area and a cozy indoor room full of interesting decor. I had the scallions (which was basically a delicious, creamy soup with one seared scallion in the middle) and the beef tenderloin which melted in my mouth. By what the waiter told us (who was super helpful and attentive) they change their menu often, so these specific dishes may not be available. Over all, this is great place for a date night or to take visitors to have a fine, Swedish meal. read more
