Janelle was the artist I worked with. She was fantastic. This was my 5th tattoo, first at Iron Quill. Like most people, getting a tattoo is still a big deal for me. They are meaningful, each are well thought out, personal, and purposeful. Obviously everyone wants the tattoo to look great, but I also want the experience to be positive. Everyone in the shop was outgoing. The owner bought everyone (including me) subs for lunch. All around it was a great experience. Janelle was super friendly and funny. The tat looks fantastic. I put the hoop back on but could not figure out how to close it. I called blue Lotus and asked if they would help me re close the hoop. It's all of maybe 1 minute and after $130.00 plus purchase they're not willing to help a customer! Don't expect customer service once they're done. Very expensive and shitty customer service. First, I was offered the 2 o'clock time to come in by your phone answerer and she could have told me about the charge at that time, but didn't. Second. No price was given until drive the 20 minutes to your place. In fact I was told it's up to the person doing it maybe he'd charge maybe not. When I got upset it was because someone sort of yelled out, I'm charging, but no mention of price. Still I didn't yell at anyone, I merely stated you'd be getting the review you deserve, and left. Third. As for wishing me luck, I ended up getting a new gold hoop and put in my ear same day, no form to fill out and here's the kicker. You guys totally ripped me off last year. Ended up losing the pliers and just pulled it out from the outside of her nose. She then continued to try the stretcher needle (typically used for gauges) to try and RE- PIERCE her when the inside of her nose was closed. I almost got out of my chair and told her stop because I could see something wasn't right. Apprentice's name was Zoie, after reading other reviews about the SAME apprentice others have run into issues with we never want to go back to Black Lotus. The vibe was uncomfortable and it felt like they are judging you as soon as you walk in. No hello either, just immediately asked for ID. Seemed very eager to try to just poke holes in skin rather than fix the problem. Also the owner responding to bad reviews uses AI prompts to respond to customers input, goes to show how bad this business will fall on it's ass when enough people hear the bad parts. Good luck lol.
