Smith's Children is a family owned Montessori Children's Nursery School located in the historic city of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. Our setting has been graded 'Good' by Ofsted. Montessori approach to learning. Montessori 0 - 3 Classroom and Montessori 3 - 6 classroom Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage Freshly prepared meals consisting of healthy natural ingredients including free range and organic. A prepared Montessori Environment which encourages children to learning independently.

History

Established in 2009.

Smith's Children was founded by husband and wife Max and Pamela Gordon-Smith. In the early days they cared for up to 6 children at their rural home setting in the quiet farming village of West Wratting, Cambridgeshire. Very soon the home nursery began to grow in popularity and word spread until it became obvious that to continue growing they would need a larger premises. Finding suitable premises was proving a challenge, however Pamela persevered and after months of searching found St. Luke's Church just off Victoria Road. The nursery officially opened on the 3rd January 2012. The nursery is operated from a spacious hall on the 1st floor and benefits from lots of natural light which pours from tall arched windows and has underfloor heating. The Montessori school takes children from 3 months to 6 years. Our nursery school achieved a GOOD Ofsted grading in September 2013. We are very proud of our manager and her team.

Meet the Manager: Louise B.

Louise has been the Nursery Manger at Smiths Children Montessori since January 2013. She is responsible for the day to day running of the nursery supporting the owners Pamela and Max Gordon-Smith. Louise has been working in the childcare industry for 16 years and is also a qualified Montessorian.
