This is not your ordinary dental office..... the staff is fabulous and you are treated like family the minute you walk in..... every one of them has a great personality!!!! In my past experiences, you don't always find that!!! Shelby did my teeth cleaning while I had the option of watching TV or listening to awesome music, not elevator music..... Dr. Solomon came in to check everything and I was good to go...... At check-out, the staff had already printed out services for that visit PLUS the schedule for the next visit, all I had to do was stand there and smile with my pearly whites!!!!! Honestly, I left wondering if I had really been to the dentist or was it just a wonderful dream!!!! Thank you Dr Solomon, Shelby and staff for a fabulous dental experience...... I had been a patient for several years. I had a broken tooth and went in for an appointment asking for a temporary repair so that I could make a business meeting the following day. The suggestion from the dentist was to either do a 4 crown bridge for $8200 or a 6 tooth bridge for $10,200 - that day. I asked if something temporary could be done while I thought through my choices, the answer came back NO! I left (paying my appointment bill) wanting to think through these and to see if other options were available. A 2nd dentist gave me 4 options that could have been done in a single day. Two of the options were the same (although priced 30% less) and 2 were quick fixes to get me through my meeting, which would have given me time to make the right decision for me. I ended up getting a permanent wire retainer (small wire behind 3 bottom teeth) and only 1 crown on the single broken tooth for $1800. Additionally, I didn't have to have 4 to 6 teeth extracted out of my jawbone. This firm is all about money and being too aggressive with the treatment of patients. It's worth looking at options... I went in for examination and cleaning, the dentist told me I need some crowns and filling, having EXTREME anxiety about any dental work I told them I wanted to do all the work at once under sedation.They told me a price and I agreed I thought I clearly communicated that I wanted all work done very clearly however on the day of the procedure, I was not reviewed with anyone what was being done and woke up not having all the work I needed done. They refused to discuss it with me till the next day since I still had the sedation meds in me. When they finally talked to me they claimed I elected to have only partial work done due to cost. This is something that never crossed my mind and I have NO memory of asking them this. I am not sure how this got miss communicated and feel EXTREMELY ripped off. They are extremely over priced and rude I would highly discourage anyone from going here. read more

Go somewhere else! I spent $1,500 on a crown. It came off yesterday so I dropped by today to see if they could put the crown back on. The lady behind the counter told me it was gonna cost another $95 to reattach the crown. Then she laughed at me when I got upset. I needed to find a new dentist after recently relocating to Texas. I always turn to Google and Yelp to help me decide on these types of things. I was extremely impressed by the wonderful reviews for this office, so I booked an appointment for my youngest son for a routine checkup and cleaning. This dental office is far superior to any that I've ever been to. From start to finish, this place was incredible. From the front office staff, to the assistants, to the the hygienist, to the dentist, start to finish absolutely incredible. The quality of care is exceptional. The entire staff is extremely kind and caring, and the entire office is immaculately clean. They took such great care of my son. Currently my husband and I do not have dental insurance for ourselves, and when we were leaving I asked about out of pocket costs for a cleaning and check up. I was completely shocked at how affordable their prices are, especially for such a regal and professional establishment. So happy we came here, and we will continue to come here for years to come. read more

I went in because I wanted someone to crown my two front teeth. Then I was prepared to leave and come back for further work=extensive work. I told the girl who answers the phone I "need my two front teeth worked on today" and she said, "sure; we can do that!" Upon arrival I waited for over twenty minutes, alone, in the waiting room. Then a lady insisted I have a "Panex" X-ray (over $100 for that) and my front teeth x rayed. Then I waited in a dental chair for over another twenty minutes when the dentist came in. The next hour is almost a blur. She began (this is a new process most dentists are doing now) talking, explaining, having a nice lady write things down about my teeth with prices. I paid the bill and left. It dawned on me I had NOTHING done that day and it was a half hour drive. I did, however, leave with a folder of papers with a $9,400 estimate on the bottom line. So here I sit with three visible cavities, two horribly broken front teeth and my estimate of $9400. Where is the dentist who will actually FIX ONE TOOTH on your first visit? Someone who doesn't want you to leave after 1.5 hours with the same cavities and bad "smile" you came in with? Plus, they said the Panex x ray didn't "work." It showed nothing, they said but I can come back in for another one! Look; I don't mind a couple x rays but why do I have to be in a dental office for an hour of technical chit chat and writing only to get absolutely nothing fixed? And then walk out with a multiple thousand dollar estimate to get EVERYTHING FIXED? It is the new thing with dentists: "The Everything Fixed Estimate" on your first day that would strain any millionaire's bank balance. Do you have a cavity or two and want them filled? Forget it. They will not touch those teeth until you agree in writing to have EVERYTHING FIXED and they'll help with your financing through Care Credit. I can picture a party packed with Tyler dentists all standing around laughing about all their patients who caved and signed up for almost ten grand (or more) who just wanted a couple things done. I'll try somebody MUCH closer to my home and try to act civil in hopes of walking out with at least one repaired tooth. It's My Mouth and My Money and I feel it is my decision whether or not I want every single tooth in my mouth repaired. If I want to let some rot out it's my teeth, right? My wife has been there several times and it has been the best experience you can probably expect to have at a dentist office. The entire staff is super friendly and makes you feel very special. The dentist walked her through the procedures every step of the way so she always knew exactly what was going on and what to expect. I was a patient of Smith Dental and loved my dentist, but when I can time to get my teeth bleached, it was a total nightmare experience! I was quoted a price over $400. I was bleaching them for my daughter's wedding so I was willing to pay the price. I talked to them extensively about the cost and procedure. Never was it said that I would have to pay an additional $65 for an exam, until I got a text message the day before the appointment. When we discussed the price prior to me making the appointment, I was honest with them and told them I already has an appointment with another dentist to have my x-ray and teeth cleaning (half the price of Smith Dental and he was an excellent dentist and his staff was amazing) and they said that was fine. Now here it is the day before the appointment and they try to hit me with an additional $65 charge. Needless to say, I canceled the appointment and will not be going back to Smith Dental ever again! It isn't about the $65, it is about the sneaky way they tried to up charge me!! read more
