The rest of the place has a vintage theme that's comforting instead of chintzy or tacky. The fried chicken and biscuits with sausage gravy are delicious. When I got into the shower, I chose one of the larger ones. The only thing not working the 2 big control knobs were hard to turn . One adjusted knob amount of water going to each shower head, one up high other at waste height. The other knob regulates water temp, going to each shower head. This is one of Nebraska's true gems, a resource known to the locals but not so much to the outside world. With 2 full service marinas, 31,000 acre feet of water, and several improved and primitive campgrounds this is a great place to escape for a weekend or a holiday retreat. It's a little ways from large stores for stocking / restocking up on supplies so plan accordingly. Also this park has some Park Rangers with very serious attitude problems. But that being said the beauty of this lake warrants taking the time to share it's presence with the world. Along with fishing and boating in the main lake, make sure to check out the spillway. On a hot summer's day you can walk across the spillway and the water will cool you off quite nicely. The current can be swift if you have children hold on to their hands as you make your way out to the concrete where the fishermen like to setup. Overall, excluding the park rangers from hades, this is a solid 4 star place, well worth the time to drive to and check out! But shhh! Try and keep it a secret so hordes of people don't overrun the place!
