This place is a joke. I've never in my life been told by a dental hygienist that I "cannot dictate care." Let me spell it out: patients absolutely have the right to refuse any procedure, test, or screening. That's called autonomy. It's the foundation of medicine. But apparently this know-it-all hygienist thinks she outranks the law, common sense, and even my own body. I wasn't refusing treatment--I simply declined a blood pressure reading due to white coat syndrome, a very real and well-documented condition. Instead of professionalism, I got arrogance, bullying, and a power trip from someone who isn't even a dentist. The audacity of a hygienist trying to lecture me that I "can't dictate care" is laughable. News flash: I dictate everything that happens to me, and the only thing this office dictates is how fast patients walk out the door. If this is how they treat people who advocate for themselves, imagine how they behave when someone is vulnerable or doesn't push back. I walked out and I'll never return. There are plenty of dentists who understand patient rights and don't let their staff talk down to people like they're children. This office? Nothing but condescension wrapped in a dental smock. read more

Excellent service...this crew went above and beyond for me on my first visit. Happy to have finally found a great practice!

I recently switched over to this dentist and have been having a great experience! I typically abhor going to get my teeth worked on because of previous trauma but their team have made the procedure very comfortable and seamless. They are very personable and professional and are using much more up to date dental technology that facilitates the process of getting impressions. Overall I highly recommend checking out this Dental office if you are inbetween dentists or looking for a better experience! read more

Victoria is the best dentist I have ever had. The team never tries to upsell anything you DONT need, wonderful and caring crew.

So I'm usually terrified of going to the dentist so I first found this place through a friend's recommendation. My experiences here have been so great that I feel I need to write a review. First of all the office is clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Diane at the front is so kind and personable which is so important. During my annual check up, Tammy took my xrays and she tried her best to make my feel comfortable since I tend to gag during those (I know, gross) and I didn't gag once! That part is actually what I dread most about my checkups. And of course Dr. Shack is great as well - she's funny and kind and makes me feel very comfortable. And her assistants always have big smiles on. I got fitted for Invisalign here and will be coming back to get my teeth whitened. My husband also comes here - he's gotten more complicated procedures done and he's had great experiences as well. LONG STORY SHORT: This office is so well run. Everyone and everything here is great. Go here and you will not be disappointed :) read more

FANTASTIC! The whole team at smile shack is great. I came in without being to a dentist in 7 years, I also had just ben in a motorcycle accident an had broken my jaw an had 5 teeth knocked out as well. I got the best general cleaning I've ever gotten completely painless an the amount of staining that was removed was astonishing, I had all my cavities filled an had permanent implants put in where I had lost them. My teeth now look worlds better than they ever did. I can't thank everyone enough ! read more

Dr. Shack is an amazing dentist. She's very sweet and gentle. My husband does not mind making his way over there even though we live in Queens now. His visits are always quick and painless. I do not visit the dentist myself, but I've been dealing witht the office manager Diane for years and she's also amazing. The billing is on point and she definitely knows what she's doing. She's very attentive to customers. She's very accommodating and understanding. I highly recommend this place. read more

Super Friendly staff with an amazing Dentist who is very personable and professional at the same time. Highly recommend to others who wants a better dental experience. Originally had seen Dr. Jan Scott Miller but when his office was sold, he suggested Dr. Shack 100% and now I can see why. Going from one great dentist to another is fine by me. read more

Went to see Dr Shack for my appointment today and I have to say she's phenomenal. As a doctor I not only judge a professional based on their bedside manner but also their technical skill. When Dr shack was with me she only concentrated on me. My procedure was painless and I can see the care and attention to detail she puts into her work. During my procedure the phone rang and the receptionist was away. Dr Shack never took her attention off me to answer a call, leaving only when she felt like a perfect job was done on my teeth. I have found a life long dentist! read more

Definitely the best dentist I have ever been to! Over the years, I've been to about 5 dentists. Each one has disappointed me more and more. It was actually the reason I had not been to a dentist in about 3 yrs. But then I found the Smile Shack!!! Dr Shack is gentle, patient and understanding, especially if you are a little scared and sensitive. But she has a firm hand and makes sure you walk out of her office with a clean and healthy smile! I'm from Queens, and it's a long drive, but she and her staff are worth every second and the miles. I love Dr Shack and her girls!! I look forward to growing old with her and her staff read more

I live in Brooklyn, but I make an effort to trek my way out to LI to see Dr.Shack, which to me speaks volumes as I m the type of person who doesn't like to travel far or wait a long time to get a checkup, especially if it is a dentist checkup. However, Dr.Shack is different. She is the sweetest and most patient dentist I have ever encountered. She is knowledgeable in what she does and takes the time to answer all your questions, unlike other dentists who just shoot you out the door once they are done. The wait time to see Dr. Shack is also not bad compared to other dentist offices I've been. I highly recommend Dr.Shack to anyone who is looking for a dentist for their checkups and dental work! read more

Ever since I was young, I was traumatized going to the dentist (too much candy and sweets are never what the dentist order) but Dr. Shack has put me to ease! She always greets me with a big smile and she is very patient when I voice my concerns. She doesn't rush through cleanings like some dentists I have visited in the past and she genuinely cares. If you are nervous about getting routine work done, this is the place to be. I no longer dread going to the dentist anymore. read more

Dr. Shack is the sweetest dentist you'll ever meet!! Quick and painless, still have never had a cavity!! *fingers crossed* So glad to have found such a great young dentist that I can visit for years to come! read more

Ten stars almost enough to rate the level of quality and care from Dr. Shack and the staff. Professional attention in conjunction with sincere concern for dental needs makes it a pleasure to be a patient. That's why I tell friends and family to divorce their current dentist and at the very least see Dr. Shack for a consult. It's more than two years now and my adult children still don't know that my upper teeth are not "mine." Dr. Shack and her team are the best! read more

If you're looking for a great, enthusiastic, and gentle dentist you should definitely come here! I had some fillings done and they went great, no pain or discomfort afterwards. Dr. Shack is a warm and inviting person. This is a godsend in a dentist! She is genuinely concerned about giving you the best dental care possible. She takes whatever time is necessary to explain procedures and what steps to take next in your dental care. I applaud the entire staff! They are professional, yet ALWAYS put you at ease. Diane, as office manager, is outstanding in her efforts to help you in anyway possible. I am treated so well here that it almost makes going to the dentist fun--ALMOST!!! read more
