I have had a long time fear of dentistry which resulted in a lapse of oral care for myself and was bordering on this for my daughter. Marjan and her staff took such excellent care of both me and my child - and I feel absolutely and completely differently about it now! My experience was that this office was good at routine cleanings but my periodontist experience was traumatizing. When I had my consult with the dentist we talked about doing gum restoration on 1 tooth and then the morning of my surgery I was told I needed to do 5. I live in the neighborhood, and thought this would be an easy deep cleaning. I went to her and told her upfront that another dentist in the area practices shady practices like upcharges and ripping clients off, and she told me that she is honest and straight forward. I went in for a simple deep cleaning, and then she told me quickly as I'm in the client's chair that I had more work to be done, and if I wanted to get it done. She casually mentions the work, I said to show me the costs, and it came to over $9800 very quickly, which is a far cry and extreme difference from a simple deep cleaning. I told her I didn't want the extra work, and she dramatized the situation like if I didn't get that extra work done, that I would have severe issues in the future. I politely declined again and only got the deep cleaning. I get the cleaning done (was fine), but she told me I needed a 2nd process to it that I needed to come in again for because she didn't have enough time to finish that day. No problem, came in again and got it finished on the 2nd visit. On that same 2nd visit, she told me I needed to get the rest of the work done in one more session...I didn't really pay attention and thought it was part of the process so I agreed to come in for a 3rd visit. On that visit, she proceeds to add a numbing agent to my gums and teeth, and tells me that today's process was going to be an additional $550-600 (from my pocket), not in addition to what's being billed to insurance. I said to her I wasn't sure what she was saying as I only agreed to a deep cleaning only, not anything further. She told me it was in the paperwork. The paperwork clearly states me signing and saying DEEP CLEANING ONLY while the other things I did not agree to whatsoever. She pretended to be innocent and that the information was all there, however I clearly told her numerous times (as she was trying to hustle me to get more services) that I didn't need this service. In summary, she positioned this extra 3rd visit as a necessary visit and made it sound like it was tied to the deep cleaning. I clearly asked her on the 2nd visit, if there was any more monies to pay for today (2nd visit) and the next visit (3rd visit), and she said no. This is by far the shadiest most scammer dentist I've ever come across. I would forewarn anyone to go to this dentist as her practices are misleading and she should be investigated for her protocols regarding billing her clients. read more

Avoid at all cost!!!!!!!!!! She guilt trips you into unnecessary work that costs an arm & a leg. Also will bombard you with constant calls to return for more work. I had to block her phone number so the calls would stop after repeatedly telling her I now have a new dentist. She is the only one that works there also and doesn't have a dental hygienist, dental assistant, or front office employee. That should tell you a lot. I'm now happy at my new dentist office who are very transparent with cost and affordable. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE AT ALL. I strongly believe Marjan Mohammadi, the sole practicing dentist at this office engages in shady and deceptive insurance billing procedures, such as charging for more work than was received/performed. She displays a lack of attentiveness and no genuine concern for her patients and will bill you for any and everything. Her practices are upselling, money-grubbing and show a lack of professionalism for the dental practice. She will have you fill out and sign paperwork before explaining it to you and while you are already sitting/laying in the examination chair. Total scammer. If you look at some of the other poor reviews about her work, you can also she has scammed others before. After telling her that I was dissatisfied with her services, she began to SCREAM and YELL at me over the phone and abruptly hung up. She is the only dentist in her office. She has no receptionist, no office managers, no dental assistants, etc. This is probably due to her bad attitude and unprofessionalism, which likely makes it difficult for her to work with anyone else, so she attempts to poorly run the office on her own. Also, she will harass/disturb you with phone calls, calling at all hours of the day and leaving multiple voicemails. I immediately terminated her services and will be reporting her to the Dental Board to conduct an investigation. Upon terminating her services and requesting my dental records/x-rays, she told me it would cost $35 for me to obtain them. She is greedy, unprofessional, and will try to charge you for anything. Even procedures that you don't need. Once you start to question anything related to payments, Marjan becomes aggressive, hostile, and defensive. Lovely experience ! Went in for a consultation for Invisalign and was told there was a promotion for new people for 59 dollar teeth cleaning! Saw better deals on Groupon but everyone here was so friendly I am glad I used my money here! The dentist and hygienist gave me lots of tips and advice on dental hygiene and prevention of decay! Unfortunately the promo is pretty much just teeth cleaning and no whitening... and you can't get the X-rays to look at later... I was assigned to this dentist office when I got my new insurance through work last year. Setting up the appointment was easy and quick. Office environment is okay. Had my first and only appointment in August 2024. The appointment started off okay but got worse as it went on. This dentist is very rough and my gums were on fire/ so sore afterwards from how rough she was being during my cleaning. I wasn't able to eat the rest of the day from how rough she treated me. I've never had a dentist be that rough with my teeth before. During my X-rays she started to lecture me on my lifestyle choices and saying my teeth were going to get worse if I kept partaking in smoking weed. I started to feel very uncomfortable and judged. I have also never had any of my other dentist make me feel this uncomfortable about my lifestyle choices or even mention it during my appointments. She said that I needed to get my fillings redone because they were all bad. She also tried to sell me Invisalign, I have perfectly fine teeth and don't need them. I canceled all the appointments I had set up with her after the first one because of how bad the experience was. She literally made me feel so judged and traumatized that I never wanted to go to any dentist again. I had such a bad experience that I changed my dental insurance through work during open enrollment at the end of the year so I could get a new dentist(they offer two different plans). Which I just went to my new dentist and told him all of the things she said I needed to get done and how I needed to get my fillings fixed and everything she said was wrong with my gums and also how she said I needed Invisalign and he told my teeth were fine and didn't need any of that work done especially not the Invisalign. Grateful for my new dentist because I only went to him in panic thinking there was so much wrong that needed to be fixed because of what this dentist told me about my teeth. My visit to Dr.Marjan's office was an unpleasant experience. I went in for cleaning, she looked up my dental coverage and said one of the services was covered under my plan but after I was done with cleaning, in about 20mins, she said my insurance didn't cover it and I had to pay out of my packet. I didn't want to visit her office again because she wasn't transparent about charges. Besides, she tried to sell Invisalign by saying my teeth alignment was messed up which no other dentist had ever identified as an issue. She wouldn't stop calling me every couple of months to schedule an appointment even though I told I wasn't interested in going back, she was annoyingly aggressive with calls. I picked this location out of convenience and because my insurance was accepted here. I feel like Dr. Marjan knows what she's doing--I've had two root canals, onlays, a crown, and a couple of cleanings and not once have I had a complaint. No pain. I love that she always has music playing. She communicates well about her appointments. I don't know too much about insurance--thankfully she handles that. I do feel she's an amazing dentist. She even had me meet with a specialist and they both were easy to appreciate. I'm glad I have a good relationship with my dentist... it matters to me. Would not have written anything, except that that so called "crown" that they did to me 2 years ago was NOT an actual crown, of course they charged me for it like one and called it so, $$$$, however the next dentist I went to proved that what I had was not a crown per se. Even gave me a sad laugh thinking how could a "dentist" lie to their patients like that. Disclosure: Back then I did not needed a crown or a half crown, they ruined my back tooth for no reason but money, aside from that, like other reviews say, they harassed me for the next year and sometimes even to this day. I had to block their number. What a disgrace of a place. I remember even crying about the situation, the pain and the cost and they pretended they cared, I trusted them.. No more words. The date they told me is not even a date I have visited the office, another fraud.... They also mentioned that they went back and forth with the insurance about the payment, which is untrue as I also double checked this information. It is relaxing and has a pleasant atmosphere. Fillings were reasonably priced. The office seems really clean and you don't have to wait long. I finished my invisilign program. My teeth are much straighter. I'm don't think I would recommend it though. I was charged one year in advance for retainers (extra $300) but the main reason I would warn others is because Dr. Marjan Mohammadi filed my teeth down a little too aggressively in the beginning leaving them looking terrible (Not shaped like normal teeth) now they feel so weak at the front. (She was just following the invisalign computer but I think a good dentist would have shaped them better.) At the end of my treatment my lower teeth 22 (Canine) 23 24 25 26 (4 lower front teeth) and 27 all looked like they had been cut poorly and DIDN'T EVEN HAVE A REALISTIC TOOTH SHAPE. At the end of the treatment none of them came together well. (Actually 25 and 26 came together but out of all the gaps on my front lower teeth only 1 closed well.) The bottom middle ones were pointing in different directions. The lower canines looked like someone had cut them downward towards the midline and didn't have that pair shape that teeth have. She was kind enough to correct this which she did but it's a small consolation to shaving them poorly in the first place. Close to the end of my invisilign it was clear that it was not necessary to file my teeth down that narrow and the teeth contact points were really bad because of the way they were shaved. So so sad... this is where a really good dentist stands out. Dr. Marjan Mohammadi did correct some of the poor spacing by adding Composite filling to fill out the parts that were shaved down too much. She did Ok with the canines and they no longer had this uncharacteristic oval shape she originally made. ONE DAY AFTER SHE CORRECTED MY FRONT LOWER TOOTH (No 25) THE COMPOSITE FELL OFF THOUGH. Yest the front tooth composite fell out the next day. Dr. Marjan Mohammadi work almost always let me down. I also didn't like the forceful way she tried to impose preventative treatment on me. I was told I needed my wisdom teeth extracted and they were responsible for gum disease and other things. Dr. Marjan Mohammadi told me "You have early Periodontitis which is incurable unless you take a number of treatments". The cause being my wisdom teeth. We argued. (turns out food was getting stuck there often causing inflammation if I was not flossing) X-rays showed my wisdom teeth were coming in perfect (20% of the population don't need them ripped out) . Seriously I don't want unnecessary suffering in this life. Don't rip them out if they are fine. Please. And i shouldn't have to defend parts of my body like that. Twice Dr. Marjan Mohammadi has been a little to forceful with the periodontal probe leaving them in quite a bit of pain for 2 days after. Dr. Marjan Mohammadi would not take a impression and continue my treatment unless I paid for cleaning. I paid for complete invisalign treatment. If you need them really clean for impressions make that part of the treatment. It just doesn't seem right if you say "pay for this or we wont continue the treatment". My two top teeth started grinding together stopping a tooth from being brought down. Basically it's hard to bring a tooth down as it is, if it hits another tooth there is no chance. Twice it hit another tooth so there was no chance to bring it into alignment. If there was adequate space there would have been a much better chance for my teeth to follow the invisalign. Dr. Marjan Mohammadi could have said lets go back to Number whatever and see if we can bring it down with the space but instead rushed me along even telling me SKIP SOME RETAINERS. I think if there was a bit more time the results would have been better but maybe not. In the end I felt like Dr. Marjan Mohammadi could have done a lot better by paying attention to detail and being more passionate about what she does and the results she gets. Dr. Marjan Mohammadi is no Leonardo da vinci with teeth but the sad thing is i'm not sure she wants to be.! I was often really let down by this dentist and deeply saddened by the things she said and the results from her work. Teeth are as precious as diamonds and should be cut, shaped and treated with this much care. Seek out people that will treat them with the respect they deserve because they are precious. I would have given 4 stars if my teeth were cut and shaped good by Dr. Marjan Mohammadi. It was nice of her to try to fill in the poor spaces with composite at the end. read more

Great experience after a long hiatus of dental care, and was happy to get some work done with a deep cleaning here. In the beginning, it was a little confusing to be honest. If you don't have insurance, there is a lot of paperwork to be done. But if you DO, then the lady at the front will get down to work calling them and squaring away Coverage and details, pretty normal. I went in to get my X-rays, and the women who was working with me has a strong and specific character about her. The type of nurse you'd see in a hospital. Straight up, sassy and experienced, but getting to know her through the process she is a sweetheart and offers serious tips to keeping your teeth clean and preserved. Took lots of X-rays to see what my mouth was looking like, and then got the good news and bad news for what was going on. At this point, I had the option to do a deep cleaning, except I had to run some errands so I told them I'd be back later. Come back later, and then get right down to business. Insurance did what they did, and I went into the chair for the deep cleaning. Both the doctor and nurse worked tirelessly to clean up what they could inside the mouth, and really taking off layers of plaque and build up, to where I can actually feel my teeth! Now, it was very painful and aggressive, but this is the dentist, and without constant care. Pain is beauty right? So we worked out all the areas of the mouth and I feel like a different person. My coverage is not the best, so the price you pay will be based on what kind of coverage and insurance you have. This is standard for all medical practices. So people who are bitching about prices probably don't have the best insurance. Expensive or not, the work needed to be done, and I think everyone in the office did a great job Without insurance the cleaning would have ran about 1700, but with the insurance for my sessions it was only 480. So I suppose that's ok, it had to be done for the future of my dental health. Will return, and ready to fix my mouth for the better in future years. read more

I've been going to smile dzine since 2016. I liked the clean office and friendly staff. Even after moving in 2018, I decided to stay at this office. Unfortunately I will be looking for a new dentist. I was told by Dr Marjan to get a mouth guard for when I sleep because I clench my teeth at night. I was told this would be covered under my insurance. I got my mouth guard in July of 2019. I was contacted in Nov. 2020 (over a year later?!?) and informed that my insurance denied the claim and that I would have to pay out of pocket for it.... why would I pay out of pocket for something I only got because I was told it'd be covered? I get that insurance can be annoying but ... upon reading other reviews, it seems a little odd that payment is a consistent issue with this office....ok but furthermore.... I called the office yesterday at 2:30 BEFORE they closed to reschedule an appointment that I had scheduled for the next day. She called me back at the time of my appointment saying that without 48 hour notice it would be a $100 charge. If she called me back that day to let me know of this policy, I could've tried making it??? I had previously tried two other dentists in Beverly Hills, both of which gave me weird / rude / pushy vibes and were overcharging me. That's why I gave Smile Dzine a try and it was great! Dr. MARJAN should be ASHAMED OF HERSELF I RARELY if ever write reviews... I've been seeing this Dr. Marjan for about 4 years or so, and while it's a beautiful office, I now know why... and I am realizing she has been gouging me for money. She recommends procedures that are NOT needed. Keeps trying to sell me Invisalign, recommends I spend $175 per tooth x 4 teeth, to drill holes to prevent cavities,(I know stupid right) and insurance doesn't cover that procedure for anyone other than kids 16 or younger. She told me I had a cavity 6 months ago, And she has been giving me a shady feeling for years. I wish I would've listened to my gut instinct. I want to see my new dentist today, I don't have any cavities. I have no soft spots were cavities would be forming. My new dentist noticed in my x-rays that I have smaller roots on my two front teeth, because I have already had braces twice in my life. My new dentist does not suggest I get braces at all! I had a great experience with Smile Dzine! I came in for a cleaning on short notice & with new insurance, and she took great care of me - not just with a fast & efficient cleaning that was performed with the newest dental technology (two of my best friends are dentists, so I know what's up! There is a device that shoots water & scapes teeth at the same time, but also with her welcoming energy. The dentist asked me what tea/coffee/water I preferred as soon as I walked in, and sent me off with a goody bag of oral care samples to bring to my boyfriend (who I'll be sending in). I didn't feel upsold; in fact I *asked* to get fluoride (a cost insurance doesn't cover) after my cleaning, and the dentist was upfront about the costs + necessity of several other services I was/am considering. Contrary to negative reviews I'm seeing here, I never got a salesy vibe - naturally, all business owners (esp. during covid) have their livelihood to protect and this practice has invested in a beautiful office and the best equipment, so don't expect to get free care. As a career marketer I did not find this business schemy or "shady"; rather I appreciate that the dentist gives a damn about the office aesthetic / patient comfort, makes an effort to gain referrals (wise), and has a creative side (she displays her art & pottery around the stylish lobby - good for her!). Normally wouldn't post a negative review for a dentist office but I feel obligated to warn people about this place. One star are for the efficiency of the cleaning and X-rays. The lack of stars is for the extremely pushy and financially oriented dental exam. About 5 minutes into my first exam at Smile Dzine I was met with pricing for the thousands of dollars of recommended work. Dr Mohammadi informed me the receptionist would fill me in on price info and give me time to think about the treatment. After explaining that I didn't think Invisilign was necessary or feasible to me at the moment the receptionist left and Dr Mohammadi came back with the same papers explaining to me again why I need these treatments and why I need to book my appointment for them in the next week. I guess my time to think was the 3seconds it took for her to walk back. Said no to the treatment for financial reasons and felt as though the doctor was upset that I didn't want the cosmetic procedures. Then she continued to ask me about additional cosmetic procedures like getting a filling replaced with porcelain. Again I said no, that I wasn't bothered by my silver filling. Then, all of a sudden she told me that the filling would have to be replaced because it was not holding. Strange. On top of all this, there were only three people working in the entire place. It took 2.5 hours for me to receive X-rays, exam and cleaning. I sat in the chair for 30 minutes at least between each of these while there was only one other patient in the office. Just be forewarned that you will be waiting a long time for your visit and you will most likely be pressured into expensive dental procedures you may or may not need. read more

NOT TRUSTWORTHY I went in for a check-up, x-rays and cleaning. Everything was going well, until the dentist brought an invoice, which had a $95 irrigation fee. I asked what this was, after she explained it to me, I said I don't need that. Then she went on and on saying that you have to do it; and it got very awkward... I basically got suckered into doing it. Afterwards, I asked a few of my friends and family that are dentists about this, and they told me to "run!". Do not go back to her. I went here, because I wanted to find a good and trustworthy dental office close to my house. I guess, I will make the trip down to the valley to my regular dentist from now on. read more

Had some work done here a while ago. Incredibly unhappy with my service, the dentist was constantly trying to up-sell the same expensive cosmetic treatments on me every single visit. They performed unnecessary work on me that was later denied by my insurance, despite the dentist telling me otherwise. The front desk staff are also rude, uncooperative and incompetent. Please don't trust these people with your dental health, they have no idea what they're doing. This dentist was loads better than the last office I went to that was rather scammy. Dr. Marjan and Eddie were very nice, the office was very clean, and best of all, they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need! They were very transparent about prices, like what my insurance covered and what I would have to pay OOP. I asked the doctor questions about my bite, and she answered them thoroughly without pushing any products or procedures. She just gave me good advice and that was that. They talked with me about one problem I had with my teeth that I've known about for years, so it wasn't anything new or surprising. They asked once if I wanted fluoride in my cleaning and told me exactly how much it would cost me OOP, and when I said no, they didn't try to push it any more than that. The Doctor and her staff have always been more than kind to me and I've been going here for two years now. They never have an issue accommodating for my busy schedule and always check in with you a few days before the appointment to make sure you can still make it, that's very helpful! I feel like I can talk about any issues I'm having and they will be taken care of. I've never had that with a dentist before! The appointments are always quick and I leave with a brighter smile on my face every time. Great dentist! I went for my first check up and cleaning today. The office was super clean and nice, which is uncommon. I felt very comfortable there. There was no paperwork since I did all of it online. Elizabeth, at the front desk, is very friendly and fun to talk to. They had me inside and taking x-rays quickly and right at my appointment time. Having admittedly not taken good care of my teeth for most of my life, I decided to change that recently. I blame this on past dentists being kinda judgey and hyper-critical. Dr. Marjan and staff are luckily pretty close to where I live, and didn't judge me, like, at all based on how gross I'm imagining my face was after all that time shirking away from dentistry in general. Not only was the doctor and her staff super attentive and polite, but making appointments and scheduling is a breeze. Clean office, friendly decor. They also, most importantly, worked with me to find affordable solutions to my situation. So, after all that, I'd definitely say I'm incredibly satisfied with choosing Dr. Marjan over any other dentist. I've been coming here for almost a year. It's been a while since I had been to the dentist and I was surprised at how quick the cleaning is. When I was younger it would take hours, nowadays I'm in and out in just 30 minutes, Xrays too. I paid something like $132 for Xrays and a cleaning and I got some freebies to take home too. I don't know why everyone has a comment about upselling. It's how you run a business. I had braces as a kid and now my bottom teeth are starting to shift so she did tell me that they offer invisible aligners to correct that if I wanted them, but they didn't pressure me or anything. But it is good to know that if I want them in the future, they can provide them. Last year she also filled three cavities for me and again I was in and out in less than an hour and I haven't had any problems since. I'm happy. read more

It's been about 6 months now, and I haven't had my insurance issue resolved... my nervousness is growing the longer I wait for an update. Here's the situation. As stated in my first review, I had chosen this place after finding a groupon deal, read the yelp reviews, and confirmed with the receptionist that my insurance is accepted. I emphasized that I am only wanting to become a new patient if my insurance is accepted. After the first visit, I walked away not paying anything, because it was covered. After working out a way for me to get my cavities filled all in one day, the receptionist informs me that she cannot confirm how much is covered by my insurance at the moment, but will give me details my next visit. I had an idea of how much my plan would cover, but wasn't too worried because I was under the strong and direct impression that my insurance is accepted. After a few visits, I still did not receive a definite answer on anything. Again, I did not pay a copay becauase they said I was covered... Still waiting. read more
