When my mother received an FTB enforcement notice in 2026 for a missing 2022 California state return, I contacted the firm for help. I spoke with Hannah Huang, who was unhelpful, raised her voice on the phone, and dismissed the issue by saying it was 'too long ago.' No accountability was taken for the missed California filing obligation. I would not recommend this firm to anyone.

Additionally, I feel they do not respect their clients, not even their boss. Over the past five years, my experience with them has been poor, but I was too busy to switch. This year, I decided to use a different CPA, and I just realized how bad Chris Huang CPA really was. Their price also 30% higher than market average. Hi Hannah, My feedback was real, I just used a alias name for comments, because I just don't wanna dispute with your company , it's tired. Actually my colleague recommended this CPAs to me years ago. But the experience was poor, I just realized how bad it was when I chose a new CPA company this year. Hope you do better, I will leave this comments for at least one year.

6 month follow-up update…read more. I know you may have been waiting with bated breath, so I'll try my best to keep this short. After 20+ additional emails (between both parties), we were finally able to receive our federal and state abatements from 2024. While this is good news and we are pleased with the outcome, it does not negate the unpleasant experience. After the last review, they took note and designated someone to call the IRS on our behalf, instead of repeatedly sending papers in the mail that the IRS would never receive. After receiving the federal abatement, we then had to ask them to help with the state abatement. In case you aren't aware (since I was initially not educated on this matter), you are allowed a 1-time federal and state abatement. Meaning, if you are in good standing, they will erase your fines, but not the interest. Some additional notes: 1. They are a global team, as their new name implies (Unified Global). This means that your team may be located in various time zones and countries. 2. Their software is straightforward and simple to follow, which I did appreciate. 3. Their timelines for filing, in my opinion, do not include a sufficient buffer if you have additional questions and/or corrections. We were asked several times to remove the last review, and after some thought, I have chosen to amend it. Similar to prior Yelpers, I believe that it they have improved their services, my initial review will just be background noise as the one off.

Previous experience have shared little to no context/information as to what and why they need or want something and assumed I know what to do afterwards. I've been working with Lee in this office. She's been amazing in keeping my wife and myself informed/educated with everything that goes into taxes, calling out any errors to fix/adjust, and simplifying things enough for us to understand. Very educational and helpful in every step of the experience here.

They started by charging me $800 to do my taxes, and it kept going up, eventually to $1500 this year. Then they suddenly dropped me with some vague excuse of COVID and lacking resources. Maybe they didn't like that I was frequently last minute with itemizations, but so what? I'm paying for their time, and they work for me. Now I have to find someone else for this year's taxes, and get them up to speed. A year's notice would have been much less unprofessional.

These folks were responsive and use this really good online software https://basecamp.com/…read moreThis enables tracking of tasks and todo's clients have to like submitting W2s, etc. So much better than e-mail threads which get confusing. Even with the simple process of a joint return it enabled my wife and I to be aware of what we each needed to provide. Pricing was very competitive, less than the accountant I had last year who I very disappointed with. I see negative reviews and I wonder if these different experiences could be due to getting up to speed on the portal. The negative reviews seem to be similar though not as bad as experiences I have had with the previous 2 accountants. I can say my experience was positive and I found Stephenie responsive and our taxes were filed correctly.
