Very pleased with a terrific haircut and style from Marichu at the salon located in, yes, Wal-Mart on S Blue Angel Parkway. My husband and I moved here about 3 months ago, and with unpacking and settling in, having my hair cut/styled was not on my agenda. I've worn it short for years--now, it was getting fluffy and annoying. I booked with the salon at the local Wal-Mart because, yes, it was close. Honestly, Marichu gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in quite some time and I WILL be back. My hair is short, but I have annoying cowlick-curls in odd places, and I wear glasses. So a stylist has to work to those issues. Marichu did a fab job and she's a delightful person as well. We had a lovely time chatting as she snipped away. Again, very pleased. I think Marie did great on my haircut. I am not picky, but as long as you are able to cut my bangs in the style I like then I'm generally happy with the rest of my hair. She was great to talk to and gave me a great shampoo and cut for a great price $15. Their prices are low, I saw a color is $44.99 and up. Cheap and they are usually somewhat busy. I was satisfied. I will be going back to Marie again for a haircut. May try to see about color/highlites next time... read more

If you want a good cut and you don't want to spend a lot of money trying a new place, I highly recommend dipping in here. Ask for Cassie, the manager. Shes phenomenal! I've tried higher end salons and I keep coking back here. I let her wash, cut and dry... and I save the time for styling for myself bc I'm so picky. Who knew you could get such a great haircut at WALMART? Connie is so great, she listened & made sure I walked out happy! My hair is soft and full, the cut is fantastic! Was thinking about trying a new place for a haircut so I called to see how long the wait was. Sorry I bothered you it won't happen again...

I have used SmartStyles in several locations and have always been told you can call ahead but no appointments are allowed... well today I went in, there was one lady in the chair and no one else waiting. I was told she couldn't get me in because she had a full day of appointments it would be at least 4 hours. I asked if it was advisable that I make an appointment in the future? She said no, she just has her "own clients" she does appointments for them but Normally they don't do appointments. Seems unfair at a convenience hair place that they will take appointments for some and not others. I will no Ionger go to this smart style for my color,cuts, and products. That's likely $500+ tips for the winter while I am here. If they have rules they must apply to everyone. Feel free to explain this to me if you have an answer read more

Did an excellent job on my picky teenagers hair . Foil highlight and cut was under $60 and my daughter is very happy! Stylist Marie was extremely patient and listened to my daughter. She did an excellent job! read more

It's ok if you're in a pinch or just need a haircut on the cheap. Service was alright, considering I walked in at 4:45 on a Sunday afternoon. (They close at 6:00). Didn't have to wait long until I was in a chair, and showed my stylist the hairstyle I wanted. She was polite and friendly, but absent-minded and kept getting interrupted a lot by people and the phone calls. But, it *is* inside a Super Wal-Mart, so that's to be expected. The salon itself was kind of dirty and cluttered. (Floor had dirt stains on it, I'm not talking about hair on the floor; the sinks looked like they could have used a good scrub down and everyone's stations had stuff everywhere. A lot of things kept getting lost and they had to borrow a lot between them. I got a free shampoo, which was nice, however, what was NOT nice was the lady put something in my hair to "strip the brassiness" out. (Back story: I bleached my hair white-blonde for awhile but was starting to go back darker, so that "brassiness" was the hair color I had just put in not 2 weeks earlier!!) so when she did that, it stripped the hair coloring OUT of my hair, returning it to the white-blonde, but now with my darker roots showing...pretty heavily, I might add. I didn't have money to get more hair coloring done or buy a bottle of dye to tide me over, so now I get to go to work with a somewhat cute hairstyle (still not sure it's what I showed the lady) but with white-blonde/honey blonde-ish mixed up hair color with a nice dark stripe of roots showing. Not too pleased with that. Maybe if she had asked before doing it, it would have been more ok, because at least if I didn't like it, I could say "well I agreed to it". But since she didn't.......well. Overall, you get what you pay for. I paid $15.50 for a haircut, which I got, and it resembles the picture I showed her (glad I showed the one I did, because if I'd asked for what I REALLY wanted: I probably wouldn't have any hair left! Luckily, I don't think I'll have to use them any time soon. It had been at least 3 years since I used them last, and I'm sure it will be another 3 years or so if I ever use them again. read more

Meh, is exactly right. I went in for a trim and it felt so rushed. I think I was in the chair for around five minutes and when I got home I found a long piece that was missed. I don't think I will be going back there. read more

You have ONE job; listen to the customer and do what they say especially because THEY have to walk out of there. I don't know how the words "I want barely anything cut off the top" turns into "I'm going to cut it as short as the rest of the haircut." Honestly, I gave these people two tries and it turned out awful both times. The fact that I even walked out of there paying upsets me. Learn to listen or go back to school. Awful read more

I had a wonderful experience at this salon. I am a Navy wife and I was scared to go to anyone that would get scissor crazy like Edward Scissorhands. I went to a gentleman named Cory and he was fabulous! A friend recommended him and I'm glad I took her advice. The price for my trim and re-layering was $15. If you would like him to style it will cost an additional $15, but I believe it's worth it! When I came home my husband and I had no plans but since my hair looked so good we went out on a date. I would recommend Cory any day. We recently got stationed in another state and I'm looking for someone else to trust with my hair. read more

First, I went for a relaxer, he didn't base my hair so it burned my scalp HORRIBLY. THEN, I said that i needed my ends clipped. He said he was going to take off an inch..well it looks like it was way more than that and its a blunt cut so it feels horrible..so now it's short..then the way he wrapped it for the "silk wrap" was horrendous..I could have done better at home..and he even attempted to flat iron it to fix the horrible job he did with the saran wrap but it looked like an 80s hair do..and he had the nerve to want to charge me for it when I only asked how much it would be and he insisted on doing it because the wrap didn't turn out the way it was suppose to..I wouldn't recommend Frederick to anyone..I hate that I even had to pay him the $50 for the relaxer.. read more
