I called ahead and said I'd come on in and if she didn't have time to wash or style, that was fine. I sat down and gave her the skinny. She brushed and ran her fingers through, then took me to the shampoo bowl and washed and conditioned my mane. She trimmed it EXACTLY how I asked and even blow dried and hit it with the iron to put a little wave back in and most importantly,,, she took the frizz and split ends OUT!!! I'm very pleased and would recommend to anyone local or visiting to stop in this little downtown joint!!

First time to visit Candace's Hair Flair after reading some Yelp reviews…read more If you want Candice to cut your hair you'll need to make an appointment weeks earlier as it seems she might have lots of regulars. I went ahead and made my appointment with Lindsey Banks and can honestly say that I was pleased with the cut I got. I wished the clippings would have been cleaned off better but didn't take away from the cut itself. Yelp reviewers were right on about this place and I will definitely be back. I guess my only negative is the location houses a nail salon and it reeks. A good thing my allergies didn't act up after visiting this place. Some folks with bad allergies would probably not handle it as well as I did. Thanks Lindsey! You do really good work!

I watched for a couple of months as the old Chamber of Commerce building was slowly being converted…read moreinto "something." I didn't know what the business would be, but there was great attention to detail in the craftsmanship during the remodel. It opened as a barber shop with a stylist in the back of the salon. On a whim, I decided to see if they accepted walk-ins so I could get my hair trimmed. The barber I spoke with was polite, but said he didn't cut women's hair, and suggested I speak with the stylist. She informed me that she was booked a full week in advance, so I left. As I got to my car, I decided to give the barber a shot, if he would take me as a client; after all, when I was stationed at 29 Palms, John the Barber cut my hair like a pro. I asked him again if he could just trim up the sides and back, and he admitted that he did not know how to cut women's styles, so I suggested he just clean it up like a little boy's haircut. Reluctantly, he cut my hair. It was PERFECT. There was no need for him to be worried. He cleaned up my neckline better than any stylist ever has, and I LOVE HIM FOR IT. The barber is a craftsman and just like the attention to detail which was paid to the renovation of his building, he took great care in my cut, even though I was indifferent. I will definitely go back. I will add some photos of this quaint little joint as soon as I get this posted.

My son has about 86 cow licks on his head and Jamayla (probably spelled wrong) fixed it without breaking a sweat! My daughter has a double crown and three cowlicks (isn't it awesome lol) and she also fixed HER hair. Now both my children have hairstyles that have gotten even better as they grow out. So I decided to give it a try. I have an undercut, shoulder length hair that I am growing out from the last time I colored it with Henna. So I have a 2-3 inch strip of roots that are my natural color (blonde) and the rest is fifty shades of red/brown.... My hair was a hot mess. Jamayla fixed it! She trimmed it up without hacking it all off, she softened the look of the undercut, she curled my hair for my anniversary date with the Husband, and she made me feel like my roots showing are going to be the next cool trend. She is just amazing.
