The most difficult part of the cooking class was finding it. The class is located on the 9th floor of a building that you can only get to through a different (low-rise) building. If you happen to enter from the correct entrance, you will see signage. But we didn't and we were wandering around the courtyard and in other buildings.
Thankfully, our instructor came down to guide us. She is a young and petite Polish woman who was a lot of fun and super friendly.
During the class, we worked in pairs and the first thing we made were apple pancakes. These were absolutely delicious. While we were making these, the dining table behind us was being set with an elaborate breakfast spread. It was so cool to learn about Polish culture and cuisine. After a breakfast break and a couple of shots of vodka we were back at it.
We made two types of pierogi. I loved the potato and cheese one although the meat version was delicious as well. There are so many ways to fold and decorate the pierogi, some were clearly more complicated than others.
Our class consisted of 8 students and everyone had a blast. We all left happy, full, and quite tipsy.
