The cleaning service worker was really great. The problem is no one answers the office phone and no one returns phone calls when you wish to book a cleaning. I gave up. I truly love their sister company, Smart Chimney Service. I would give the cleaners 5 stars and give 1 star for terrible communications from the office. read more

This place is horrible do not go there. my friend went two weeks before prom to get her dress altered and when she picked it up the entire dress was ruined and unwearable. After the fact, seamstress claimed that the alterations she asked for weren't going to work no matter what but failed to say something before starting the alterations. There was no compensation and it was very difficult to arrange a conversation at all. Don't waste your time or money. read more

I needed a button sewn on for an upcoming event. I went 2 days after it was promised and it wasn't ready. I was surprised and told the woman I needed it for an event the next day. She tells me she's not the owner and to calm down. How about an apology and say you'll take care of it right away? Instead she was patronizing and put out. Never again. I can understand it not being ready, things happen. But talking down and rudely to a customer (when it's your mistake)...no thanks. Back to Breit Cleaners. read more

I lived around the corner and patronized Smart Cleaners regularly. I found them to be fairly inexpensive and they hemmed a few pants and did a couple of sweater repairs which were cheap and satisfactory. They have always been timely and very pleasant. I read a review that lamented that burnt buttons and not quite crisp shirts can occasionally be expected at all dry cleaners, but I never experienced that here. Pay when you pick-up and yes, they accept credit cards. Kitty corner from the Oak Park blue line stop, and right in front of the Oak Park Ave. bus stop, but parking can be a pain. read more

I've never had a dry cleaners not be able to find my clothes after I'd given them my phone number. Had to drive back home and get the receipt, only to have them call me and say they found my clothes after all when I'm almost home. Very frustrating and annoying, will be spending my money elsewhere. read more

I made the biggest mistake by taking my wedding dress to Smart Cleaners in Oak Park. When my husband dropped off his suite and my dress they asked my husband if they should fix the hem line since it had come undone. He said no. When I picked it up and took it home I saw that the hemline had been altered, further there was some kind of adhesive used! I immediately went back and inquired about what had happened to my dress with the woman that works there. She said that although my husband had said no to any alterations the place where it was sent off to had done it anyway. I told her that was unacceptable and that I wanted my money back. She refused and acted like I was crazy. She insisted that it was common practice of all cleaners to make alterations. I reminded her that we had specifically said not to do that. Now a section of my dress hemline has an obvious stain from the adhesive and the silk hardened. Again I asked her for a refund and she refused and offered to fix it instead. I told her that I did not trust her place of business and I would like a refund so that I could take it elsewhere to have it fixed. She had the audacity to laugh at me. I told her that I was disgusted with her lack of professionalism further that she found humor in what had happened to my wedding dress, and worst she didn't even offer an apology.
