She is perfect for him, we absolutely LOVE her and the relationship they quickly built!!!!!! It's typically challenging to find him a good match since he uses ASL "she knows signs" . I'm already seeing improvement with him using his ASL spontaneously. I should mention that he's probably had in the last 10 years over 20 different SLPs over 5 different offices/companies and hands down. This has been the very best place for him. Thank you OAS center for working with kiddos like my son, to improve the quality of their life....

I came to this clinic needing special therapy services for a child with autism…read moreand 1 time 5 years ago there was a good therapist employed there that worked with our child. The owners bio made me think that this was a stand up place with integrity and values. I emailed for weeks trying to setup an appointment with any therapist- occupational, speech, adaptive physical education etc. The owner kept giving me the run around- I genuinely thought he was working hard to help me find resources. Then, a school nurse appears to assess my son- from this company! Turns out she didn't even know how to conduct a nurse assesment, didn't know how to write a proper report, and had very little professional knowledge, nevermind integrity. I now realize this is one of those exploitive therapy clinics that's not actually interested in ethically treating special needs children. So disappointing given the needs that exist and the potential this place had. Would not trust this center with any kind of evaluations or treatments. Beware. Also everyone should know that you can file a UCP complaint against this company or any employees of it that you work with who engage in unethical practices. You might think since it's a private company you can't do that, but they are given public taxpayer funds to operate and therefore are subject to the same procedures as if a direct employee of the school. Feel free to reach out if you are unfamiliar on how to file a complaint. Parents must keep charters and those working with special needs accountable.

We find them through an approved list from our insurance carrier, Kaiser. The office is clean, & check in process was some of the smoothest I have ever experienced. No shoes are allowed once you cross out of the waiting room. The front desk ladies are friendly & really got to know my son in such a short amount of time. They always knew he wanted to show them whatever toy he brought for the day & there was always a sticker he enjoyed getting they'd let him pick out. Payments were automatic and I never had any issues there. Within one session with both ladies, we were able to get him using words we knew he had in there-they just helped him bring them to life. My son & I were both bummed when we ended services due to him starting preschool & getting the services while there. Emily really grew on him. He would absolutely light up seeing both ladies. My son, his attitude, behavior, and speech all elevated by coming to Milestone. The absolute patience the staff has is incredible. My son had a couple sessions of occupational therapy and we absolutely loved our therapist as well. I felt included in each of his sessions with all the ladies & there was something we worked on each week to improve the next. My son went from saying a handful of words to now speaking sentences. We game together and he fully understands that we need to take turns. Started off as a super worried mama, and left confident that we would be more than okay. Thank you, thank you, thank you again to Milestone. LOTS of parking & super easy to find. Delicious cafe not far from the entrance!

I waited about 3 weeks for the clinic to contact me after our pediatrician put in a referral to see PT for my childs torticolis. When I did not hear back I called the office, the first lady said she could not find any referrals then I spoke to a second person that said the paper work sent over was incorrect. I told her since this is a time sensitive issue to go ahead and put me in as a private pay so at least we can start the evaluation and make future appts if needed. Made an appt for an evaluation, only to be called by another personnel to cancel the appt because they are not able to figure out if they are contracted with my insurance. I told them I would still want to come in for the evaluation since its already been over a month and I would pay as private pay until insurance is sorted out. I ended up seeing Miss Paige and Miss Hannah. Both are great PTs and did help improving omy childs torticolis. I ended up using 6 or 7 appointments, 3 months had passed and each time they wanted to cancel my appt because they couldnt figure out insurance coverage. Long story short I finally had to email all the claims and what my insurance had cover and my copays that I had paid for them to finally realize what was happening. Insurance companies suck I get it. I deal with them on a daily basis at my job. But not having trained personnel to deal with the insurance complexities is not acceptable in the health care industry.

Despite the important work being done in the ABA field, the company consistently fails to support…read moreits employees in meaningful or sustainable ways. One of the most concerning issues is the lack of communication and transparency. Employees often receive no notice when clients cancel sessions, resulting in wasted trips and unpaid time. In such cases, you're either told to clean the facility (an unreasonable expectation outside the role of a Behavior Technician) or you're abruptly reassigned to cover another BT's session without context or consent. The pay is among the lowest in the ABA field, especially when weighed against the emotional and physical demands of the job. The work environment is poorly maintained, with cleanliness being a recurring problem. The facility does NOT look like those posted online. The children's bathrooms and common areas are often unsanitary, raising valid concerns about hygiene, safety, and the general quality of care. A particularly troubling practice is the use of personal items like wipes brought in for one child that get used on other children, without the caregiver's knowledge. Additionally, BTs are often left in the dark about health-related issues like lice until after the situation is already "handled," which puts both staff and other clients at risk. Unsurprisingly, the company suffers from a very high turnover rate, which reflects the broader issues within the organization and further destabilizes the workplace. Overall, they show little regard for employee well-being, professional development, or proper client care. Even by looking at the reviews the only 5 star reviews are for speech therapists, not from the work being done!

Not like…read moreGizmo chugging Liquid Death after midnight terror, but he does have tendencies to act up. What makes it harder is that he was diagnosed with ADHD and moderate-to-severe autism. Like many others with his conditions, he has speech delays. Naturally, our family sought out help and Kayla and her courses turned out to be game changing for the successful upbringing of my nephew. My nephew was non-verbal for about his first 2.5 years. Because his parents were a little concerned, they got in touch with Kayla and picked up the course. Her course advised communication with sign language which has helped tremendously. The next time I saw him after they started the courses, he was speaking with his hands constantly. I was surprised how quickly he picked up signs like "I'm hungry" and "all done". Silly me thought at first his hand motions were his natural mannerisms because he was born in the Italian part of New York City. Eventually he would speak by repeating everything we were saying. It hit me. He had a photographic memory and he was like a computer just copying everything into his hard drive. I looked at my little card counting machine with dollar sign filled eyes. I immediately booked us a suite at the Venetian on the Vegas strip. To our demise, I found out that little kids are not allowed at the blackjack tables so I had to cancel our trip. Also, his mom was not fond of me taking him to a smoke-filled room packed with degenerates like myself. On top of that, it turns out from Walkie Talkie's videos, his repeating is a matter of speech development. It is an interim stage of him practicing his words and sounds but not fully using them for communication purposes. But you hold on tight little buddy.. we'll crack the casinos together one day. Fast forward a few months and there was one incident where I found him shrieking like a bloody murder was happening. I couldn't tell if he had just gotten stabbed in the back by OJ or if he was practicing for an audition of an Amber Heard marital fight scene. At that moment, my training from the videos kicked in. I asked him in a calm tone, "what are you feeling right now?" He screamed: "It's a lion!" I jumped out of my seat and turned around to see if there were any furry feline predators that had escaped and entered my living room... In my defense, I do actually live pretty close to the San Diego Zoo. Apparently, I hadn't watched enough of the Walkie Talkie videos because it turns out that he was expressing his feelings by describing an animal that makes him feel scared because he was hanging out with me and missed his mother. Once I learned about this, I couldn't have been more proud of the kid. Even fully grown adults aren't able to identify their feelings sometimes, let alone have such colorful descriptions of them . Throughout the lessons, I learned that a nephew like mine has the ability to unlock his communication skills in many ways that may not be taught or catered to in a traditional school setting. I know that he is a really intelligent human being and will be able to strengthen his verbal skills through the exercise and training that Walkie Talkie Speech Therapy offers. Through these courses, I can see my nephew reaching his optimal potential which is to become the next Elon Musk minus his douche-baggery and twitter account. To rate Walkie Talkie Speech Therapy anything less than five stars would be to condemn life itself.
