She recently took the engagement shots for my fiancé and I, and well...to put it mildly, we're both extremely awkward and geeky whenever cameras are around. My lip curls in a very unattractive way. My other half refuses to show teeth and instead opts for a sideways smirk. It's not pretty... Jeanette knows exactly how to deal with our awkward type though. She made us forget the camera was there and instead just snapped away while we did our thing. It was super laid back and didn't feel contrived or forced. In fact, to our amazement, Jeanette made us look like actual human beings that know how to smile and look good for the camera. And what's better is we got some really, really great shots that we'll be able to display proudly at our wedding later this year. Who knew we could look that good?! Being new to this, I didn't know what to expect but I did predict that I might be a little bored. I predicted myself being anxious to get it over with and move on to the point where I got to share the results with friends and family. Let me tell you how wrong I was. From the moment we got to her studio we were greeted with a warm welcome and compliments over our son's awesome hair as I took him out of his car seat. Mom and baby went first and I was instantly in awe over the poses and creativity she brought to the table. The mother of my child is gorgeous and yet Lindsay found a way to make her look even more radiant. I went next and though I like to be the center of attention in a full room, I'm not comfortable in front of a camera. She made the whole thing relaxing and my girlfriend was standing back behind her crying tears of joy. I genuinely can't wait to see what all the fuss was about. It was then all about the little man. Let me tell you, watching Lindsay work with our son had me in awe. She was gentle, patient, creative, focused and really, really good at her trade. I could have sat there for hours watching her work her magic. It was simply amazing. We were referred to Lindsay by some friends and I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with her. She is a true professional with skills that far exceed the norm. She is and always will be our photographer and I genuinely can't wait until our next session but at the same time I don't want him to grow another day older. Although it took quite some time, it was worth it. I used Iris Nelson Portraits to photograph my children. Not only did I do them, but I also included myself and my mother in the photography session. It turned out beautifully. One of the items I was concerned about was whether my children's real personality would come out in the photograph. The one thing I really liked about Iris was she only shoots on location. We were not stifled with being in a studio. As a result, she truly captured my childrens' personalities and little quirks. My children are 2 and 6 and I know some day they may no longer make the expressions they make today. I now have those moments permanently captured in both my heart and on film. Also, she really captured some very special moments with my mother and the two children. I can't even truly put into words how spectacular this session was. In fact, after the results of this session; I hired Iris again to do a photography session with my in-laws. Once again, I was blown away with the results. She was able to capture some very special moments again with my husband's family and we were a much larger group this time. I thought for what I needed done i wasn't going to pay those high rates, so I went with a photographer that was less expensive. she called me today to follow up from the email she sent about 2 months ago and i told her i went with another photographer that was less expensive and she said in a rude voice "thanks for letting us know and getting back to us". and then hung up. WOW! After she hung up I was really appalled about how she runs her business. Lets just say I am glad they didn't take my families picture. My pics came out great for less than half what she was asking me for!

I was looking up baby photographers all over the valley. Many didn't return my call or were booked. Cortney was the only photographer that was able to take us. I was so thankful. Newborn photography is far from as glamorous as the photos come out. You are trying to balance sleeping and eating habits while in a photo shoot. Let me tell you there is a lot of poop and pee involved. A lot! Cortney is her own boss and the families she shoots for adore her yet she still manages to get sh$* on daily! Ha ha! She once ran her studio from home, but professionally she desired the move to a studio outside home. It was beautiful. Backdrops and props galore. So relaxing and comfortable. Amours and dressers filled with clothing and headbands use to put together the finishing touches. Cortney really invests a lot of time shopping and turning over inventory to keep up on the latest and greatest fashion, themes, and backgrounds. This is all included in the photo sessions. She is talented and also quite the baby whisperer. We did the Baby's First Year Package. It was so worth it. She takes clients all over Arizona to do on site beautiful indoor and outdoor locations. Maternity, family, and so much more. Holiday seasons she always has amazing surprises. Every year she has the most handsome classic looking Santa. But I don't think she even looked at the pictures before moving on to another shot. Some of the shots were oddly crooked and eyes were shut.
