SM North EDSA's Slimmer's World is my mom's gym for years, and before she left for the US, she got me to enroll as well. I stayed there for maybe a year. I've moved since and SM North wasn't as accessible anymore. Looking back, the time I was enrolled in this gym must've been the time that I was in my best shape.
PROS: It's conveniently located inside a mall, which might be a CON if you tend to wolf down food right after a workout since restaurants are easily accessible as well. But it's a good thing if you want to run errands right after; It's quite affordable if you make the most of their promos, like P3,000.00 for a three-month membership; That membership includes classes like Pilates, Zumba, Aerobics, and Yoga; It's well ventilated and air-conditioned. So even if everyone around you sweats, you don't feel suffocated by the different odors; The trainers assist you for the first month so you could get your personal program based on your needs.
CONS: They don't really have state-of-the machines and equipment. Some of them need to undergo some maintenance procedures; The showers aren't really impressive as well. But at least it's clean and working; Gyms tend to get sweaty yes, but some of the gym-goers fail to spray and wipe after they use. Makes me want to skip using that certain machine; It gets crowded after office hours.
TL;DR: Mid-class and affordable inside-a-mall gym that meets your needs. read more
