If you are walking along the Monon Trail and decide to stop by the IAC, one of the first pieces of public art you will find is called "Slightly Romanesque / Newhall 43". It was installed in 1981 and is mainly a metal construct with a bit of concrete. There are shapes reminiscent of girders and cross beams with the concrete adding a suggestion of arches and detail.
The artist is Robert Curtis. The piece was purchased and donated to the IAC around 1998. The "Newhall 43" portion of the title refers to the artist's Newhall Studio in Milwaukee (the 43rd piece he worked on at that location.)
