So, my very sweet and generous parents *awww* offered to buy us a new mattress as a wedding…read morepresent. Yayyyyyy!!! They have a Tempur-Pedic, which they both have highly recommended for years, and after doing some research on a few different types of mattresses, I was pretty much sold. I know that generally speaking, mattress companies dictate the prices, so there isn't a lot of variance from store to store, but I did want to check around at a few places to see what kind of freebies we could get (delivery, frame, pillows). So we started here. Now I'm a shopping gal. I love shopping, for anything and everything. But I don't like pushy salespeople. Who does?? And especially who does, when you're rolling around on mattresses?? We went on a weekend night, and were the only people in the whole dang store. The salesman actually seemed like a nice guy, but so desperate for a sale. When he asked what we were interested in, we mentioned Tempur-Pedic, and he immediately brought us over to the most expensive *naturally* model, which was somewhere in the neighborhood of $7000. For a bed. That isn't made of GOLD. It just went downhill from there, with him not leaving us alone for a second, and just watching us while we tried out mattresses. It was kinda creepy, I don't mind telling you. After he had given us the whole shpeel, we told him we'd be back, and he informed us that if we wanted to "take advantage of the WEEKEND deal" *you guys have heard the Sleepy's commercials, right? They have a "sale" going all the time!*, we'd have to give him our information, and he could put us in the computer, blah blah. We were hesitant, but because the package price for everything wasn't bad, we were ok with it. Oh dear Lord. It took the poor guy forever, and then for some reason unknown to us, he was calling his district manager? to "confirm the price"? As soon as he said "My manager wants to know why you are hesitant to buy the bed tonight.", I was out. We made some crap up, and hauled tushy. I HATE pushiness, and I see no need for it. We probably would have bought the bed from them, cuz the price was pretty good, but that was a deal-breaker. Isn't it sort of ironic? You're buying something for comfort, peacefulness, and rest, and it's this stressful, uncomfortable experience?? Yucky. No "Sleepy's" for me! *Gawd, I'm witty! ;0)*

Someone was recording me for no reason, and the experience left me feeling confused, uncomfortable,…read moreand even a little powerless. In today's world, where almost everyone carries a phone with a camera, being recorded has become very easy and common. However, when someone records another person without permission--especially when there is no clear reason--it can feel like a violation of personal space and privacy. The situation started like an ordinary day. I was going about my business, not doing anything unusual or wrong. Suddenly, I noticed someone nearby holding their phone up and pointing it directly toward me. At first, I thought maybe they were texting or taking a picture of something behind me. But after watching for a moment, it became clear that the camera was focused on me. The person wasn't speaking to me, explaining what they were doing, or asking for permission. They were simply recording. This immediately made me feel uneasy. When someone records you without explanation, it raises a lot of questions. Why are they filming me? What do they plan to do with the video? Will they post it online or share it with others? In a time when videos can quickly spread across social media, the idea that a private moment could be shared publicly is worrying. Even if the person had no harmful intentions, the lack of communication created uncertainty and discomfort. Another reason this situation felt wrong is that everyone deserves a basic level of respect and privacy. While public places often allow photography and recording, that doesn't mean it is always respectful to record someone without their knowledge or consent. People should think about how their actions affect others. A simple conversation or request--like asking, "Do you mind if I record this?"--can make a big difference in how the situation feels. The experience also made me think about how technology has changed the way people interact. Cameras used to be larger and more noticeable, so people were more aware when they were being filmed. Now, with smartphones, recording someone can happen instantly and quietly. Because of this, it is more important than ever for people to use technology responsibly and consider the privacy and feelings of others. In the end, being recorded for no reason was a small moment, but it left a lasting impression on me. It reminded me how important respect, communication, and personal boundaries are in everyday life. Technology gives us powerful tools, but it also comes with responsibility. Recording others without explanation may seem harmless to some people, but to the person being recorded, it can feel intrusive and unsettling. Respecting others' privacy should always come first.

This happened right at the hight of the Covid 19 outbreak. Massachusetts completely shut down and during that time my warranty expired. I was tried to file a claim now and they said that they were not extending warranties since their customer service line were still taking claims, but waiting to fill them once they had reopened. How was I supposed to know that? I assumed that Bob's was completely closed. I mean they couldn't go into anyone's home so why would their customer service line be on. Eventually, after 2 hours of waiting I had to pay $80 to pay for a tech to come out. And they tried to give me mystery prices for the cost of any parts that might be needed. I pushed them on it though and was able to get the prices. I didn't want to pay $80 just for them to say that I need new arms that cost $100. I might as well get a whole new chair. They're customer service is terrible. I had to call 4 different times each call 1hr or longer to get someone to help me. And their warranty is a total scam. During a pandemic they should be extending them or freezing them or something. I've bought a lot of furniture from them over the years, but I won't be purchasing anything from them in the future. I do not reccomend!
