This place is amazing! The staff couldn't be friendlier--shoutout to Reagan, who went above and beyond by sharing local spots that aren't even in the tourist guides. That insider info really made our trip feel special. Breakfast was solid--nothing over the top, but definitely good! It's a great way to start the day and save a few bucks. I especially loved the waffles and the coffee! Even though the hotel is right next to the airport, I barely noticed. I didn't hear any plane noise at all, which was a pleasant surprise. people here are so helpful and nice. i didn't catch the ladies name, but the lady at the front desk (i'll add it later if i catch it) was so sweet, we were in the hot tub and the wind was blowing hard. she picked all our things up and moved them so they wouldn't blow away. she was more than generous. we also asked if they had other water because the vending machine ran out of the one we wanted, as we don't like Dasani.. We asked, and she said she can check, she ended up giving us her own personal waters, not just one, two. she was very kind (march 28 2026 9PM). such a sweet lady! very clean hotel, aswell no complaints for this place! read more

The management took my credit card immediately and used it for the room without my knowledge, when I asked to see the room which I am glad I did, The room looked nothing like the photo's and there was a horrible smell coming out of the room like embalming fluid. This place is totally gross. I went to the management and they yelled and screamed at me and told me they would not refund me as I left the hotel and thankfully I did not stay and disputed the charges on my credit card. Please do yourself a favor and don't stay here. It should be condemned. Oh also, the people working the front desk compromised my credit card information and have tried to make illegal charges. This hotel needs the board of health, the attorney general and the BBB and consumer complaints to the Clear Choice brand. P.S. Apparently, some of the rooms were damaged by the last hurricane so instead of giving us the king room we reserved, we have a double room with two tiny little beds in it. We reserved several weeks in advance. If they weren't able to give us the room we reserved we should have been notified so we could make other arrangements. We have a king bed at home so this is either going to be very uncomfortable or my husband and I will be sleeping separately. read more

The location of Sleep Inn Clearwater was wonderful. I was greeted very kindly by Reign she had a beautiful personality and was VERY helpful. Pam was also wonderful to interact with. I loved the views of planes flying over the establishment. I did not hear planes while in my room and that was a plus. The room was NICE for a solo trip. It was very clean and actually cozy. The bed was cozy and comfortable for me. I toured the grounds on my own and found the building to be greatly taken care of. The fact that they had cameras EVRYWHERE made me feel SUPER safe as a female guest traveling alone. The breakfast was great and fresh ie. eggs, bacon/sausage, fried potatoes with onions and peppers, sausage gravy and biscuits, make your own waffles etc. I don't really eat breakfast, but I did while staying here every morning for a whole week. I did not have to travel far for any stores. The cleaning staff were very nice as well. I can't say enough about my wonderful stay. I even had the opportunity to meet the owner awesome gentleman. Where do I begin..... the moment you pull in to the hotel the outdoors is stunning very well kept Elegant Chic my style Then you walk in and it's welcoming wonderful sweet front desk attendants. We where checked in in Minutes. Took the elevator to our room that was overlooking the pool. The pool was very nicely kept the hot tub was my favorite even tho it was 120 degrees outside I still used it yes, I am a New Yorker we always cold. The breakfast station was well stocked with goodies. The maid service was amazing changed sheets daily moped, dusted, left lots of towels for us. We got to the hotel after midnight, and we were kindly greeted by the desk attendant. He was kind, helpful, and efficient. The lobby was clean. It also had a clean smell throughout the hotel. We got to our room. A light was on and the AC was running. The room was immaculate. There were no hidden dust bunnies, or a shower that wasn't clean. The mattress and pillows: so comfortable! 10/10. The walls were thick and we didn't hear any hall or outside traffic; and our room faced the main road. The breakfast was great. Waffles, all types of breads to toast, cereals, eggs, sausage, potatoes, yogurt, coffee, juices and teas. Our future flights to St. Petersburg will include or stay here. read more

From the moment you walk in it smells the freshest and cleanest EVER! ALL of the employees were friendly and really went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as enjoyable as possible! Sharron and Pam make this place warm and welcoming!! HOT breakfast in the morning with eggs, sausage, & biscuits and gravy. Make you own original or blueberry waffles in the griddle. Bagels, toast, muffins, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, & fresh apples and bananas. Coffee, tea and fresh juices. You name it and they probably have it. Very nice large outdoor white tile and brick patio area with pool and hot tub. Lots of comfortable seating with cushions and plenty of lounge chairs for soaking up the sun. The pool is fancy with water that spills into it on both sides. The parking lot in maintained nicely with ample parking. Don't let the location right next to a smaller airport fool you. We didn't hear the planes inside the hotel but it was so cool to watch them takeoff and land from the hallways or the patio/pool area. (They offer park and fly service to the airport.) Affordable pricing and conveniently located to Tampa and the beaches. We would DEFINITELY stay here again! Highly recommend. For a hotel, this place is top notch! read more

One of the most important things for me when traveling is whether the room is quite or not. Despite being right next to a small airport and a busy road, the room was incredibly quite. The bed was comfortable and the blanket and sheets, clean and soft, not bare thread thin like so many hotels. The price was reasonable and its location was easy to get to from the Tampa airport. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Location near a number of fast food and sit down restaurants is a major plus. Would have no problem recommending this hotel to friends. read more

Did not receive the room we booked, the elevator broke down while we were in it. The manager never apologized for the inconvenience, but told us that we weighed to much for the elevator. It was a 2500 lbs capacity elevator, guy was a prick would not recommend staying there at all. read more

I was having a nice (4day) stay here until the last two days. I have a documented seizure security animal who's been in the room since the first day, and today (the last day of my stay) I received two calls in a row from the front desk staff- followed by the management/owners of the hotel. "This is not an animal friendly hotel, we have to charge you a deposit!" Very urgent, phone call around 8am Meanwhile my floor is non smoking, and my room smells like someone next to me is chain smoking. This is not the best place to go if you'd like to relax, especially if you have a service animal. Needless to say, I'll be checking out early and staying across the street at the Marriott. I'm not happy about this, nor would anyone else be with a service animal. read more

My hotel stay this month started great. Staff was pleasant and even gave us an upgraded room. The hotel was clean and nice location for a cheaper hotel but not too far from the beach. Once we got home and saw a double charge on our credit card for our room, I immediately called the hotel. The manager (Shastine) told me that the morning we left she went to our room as there were dog hair and charged us $107 for a pet. She also said she had photos of the hair but I never received them. First of all, I do not have a dog, second of all, if I had a dog and needed a room, I would not have gone to an hotel that does not allow dogs. I told her it was a mistake and to look at camera footage of us for the one night stay, as you can clearly see we did not walk in or out with a dog or any other bag that could have had a dog in it. She insisted it was our room that had dog hair and the $107 extra charge would stay. I travel around the world and stay in many hotels and this is my very first time that I had someone so rude and so insistent that I had a dog in my room without any camera footage or proof. She would not back down on the charge and insisted those hair in my room were from a dog. I had left the room spotless since I only traveled with my husband. What an awful experience and what a turn off in ever staying at this chain. I also had left a nice 5 star review on another site before I found out about this charge. I was planning to return to this hotel, but obviously it's not going to happen. Watch out for unproven accusations! read more

I just helped a friend get to PIE airport. Stayin at This SLEEP INN was a Delight. A trip to the airport is available for $7. While not a hotel supplied shuttle, the flat rate negotiated by the property is excellent. A 5:45 AM pick upas ordered, cab arrive @ 5:25, and waited patiently. James at the front desk was excellent. Made sure we had FRESH coffee and grabbed us a little bite as breakfast was not for a while. in a cluster of hotels, this SLEEP INN is the Bargain with a bit extra. I am leaving this review on Yelp for the whole world to see and also because the person who runs this hotel wont have control over what I write. This is the WORST hotel I have EVER stayed in, in my entire life! Do not let the name Choice Hotels fool you, a large hotel umbrella with several well known chains underneath their name, inlcuding Sleep Inn. They will do absolutely NOTHING to help you and they will also send all the communication right back to the hotel and the person who caused the problems. They offer no refunds, solutions, and simply try to give you a free stay on your next visit. This hotel counts towels and they are proud of that fact and will let you know upon check-in. After you leave, they will spam your email begging for a survey. To get rid of it, you will do the survey and leave honest feedback. After that, the manager SHASTINE MAIRE will go underneath that very public review and reply. She accused me (as well as others by reading other reviews) of SNEAKING EXTRA PEOPLE INTO OUR ROOM, all in an effort to make some kind of excuse on the towel situation here. When you call down to the desk to ask for extra towels, they will immediately give you an attitude and then say "sure, you can have some extra towels but youll need to bring all your dirty towels to the front desk" .......... WHAT?!!?!?! The pillows are square size, they had four of these little bitty sponges for two people. When you call down to ask for a pillow or two, they will tell you that Housekeeping is Closed for the night. If you do not leave the pool by the hours posted and right on time they will have their maintenance worker come out and shoo you away. If you dont leave quick enough, he will go ahead and lock the doors essentially locking you into the pool. Not safe if you are by yourself having to make a trip on the outside of the hotel to get back in. And finally, on a two night stay, they will not clean your room. When you leave this information in the review that you write, SHE will also LIE about that and say that you posted a Do Not Disturb sign on your door. I have NEVER been treated like this before....anywhere. This chain Sleep Inn and Choice Hotels, do NOT care. I tried to be professional and polite when I saw the flat out lies written about me on their website. Who does that? Ill tell you who -- a hotel with management that is allowed to run all over people with no consequences. BE FOREWARNED and remember this review. NO REFUNDS if youre dissatisfied and didnt get what you paid for, and NO ACCOUNTABILITY for customer service. The breakfast is typical frozen and micowaved 'free breakfast' food. For a less expensive hotel I was truly pleased. They are redoing the lobby etc but the room was very nice. Staff was extremely nice. Bed and pillows were pretty good - not too hard, but firm. The tub was some kind of new age bubble. It was a little slippery because the floor wasn't totally level. The shower was great though - water pressure and temperature. The shower and toilet were in a separate room. It's also convenient for me so I can put on make up while my husband is in the shower. It saves time. Breakfast was decent as well. I liked the scrambled eggs, sausage and they had gravy. They had waffles. The coffee was delicious with a couple different flavored creamers. There was hard-boiled eggs, yogurt and some pastries. They need to fix the set up because there were people cooking waffles and the juice machine and silver ware was right there and the coffee was close too. People took a while getting coffee so there was a little wait. No one was on the side with the refrig and bread. It was a quick taxi ride to the airport (PIE) that cost $7. read more

1st off, the location isn't near much or walking distance to anything you'd want to see. Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk for several minutes. As we walked through the hotel to our room it did look very clean and squared away. Our room was very modern and clean. However a room with a king size bed for 2 people only came with one towel. A very polite maid happened to be cleaning the room down the hall was quick and courteous in getting us a towel. We went down to the pool and there was no spare towels on the shelf. When we asked the person behind the counter for towels for the pool it was as if they were made of gold and there were few to go around. The pool and hot tub appeared to be clean, but the gym was lacking in equipment and when I tried to turn on the only treadmill on it wouldn't work. The following morning we came down for breakfast and found the eggs to still be frozen in the middle and the juices extremely watered down. Also not enough seating and only 1 waffle maker. I had to struggle to squeeze me way in to make a cup of tea. In all, not a horrible experience if you don't mind the noise from an air conditioner that doesn't condition much and the sounds of airplanes taking off and landing through out your stay. The staff appeared to put in as much effort as they could but lacked the resources that they needed. In conclusion I guess this is a case of you get what you pay for. read more

My family and I chose Clearwater Fl for my daughter and nephew's birthday.we booked sleep inn - St. Petersburg due to the reviews, price and amenities. We booked 3 rooms to accommodate our group. While checking in I noticed charges on my card in addition to total amount for the stay. The front rep stated the company placed a hold for the first night , I was really uneasy, But I figured my family are in FL to celebrate. So upon entering the first room , I noticed a disturbing smell. It was a smell that would go away even after cutting the air conditioner and spraying the room. The front desk rep came into the room and said yes it does smell , and she sprayed Lysol, the smell won the battle. Same with the second room, there was a smell as well. Now for the big finale, the 3rd room, there were live bed bugs on the bed. I actually laid on this bed before I noticed Bed bug shells at the foot of the bed. I took a napkin and wrapped the bed bug up to show the rep. She said "it's alive". So she calls the owner and goes into the office. the owner says she is allowed to give the 3rd room a refund.I asked well what about the other rooms, She stated she's unsure about the other rooms. I explained the rep, the rooms should have been cleaned prior to our arrival. She stated all the rooms are cleaned but customers can bring in bed bugs . I told her if the rooms were cleaned wouldn't room service notice there were bed bug shells on top of the comforter and bed bugs underneath the pillows. If the rooms were cleaned why were there gummy bear wrappers in the first room trash can. Help me to understand . So the owner decided to give us all a refund but I feel that's a given. There were no accommodations made for my family and I. Mind you it's 10pm and we have to figure out a place to stay. Stay at this hotel at your own risk, especially if you have children. read more

The first room I couldn't open the door and then once opened couldn't ge the door to lock Krystal (hope I spelt her name right) was able to find me another room. I totally understand the smoke smell as I'm an ex smoker and in a hotel now a days it bothers me. The staff is so accommodating and the rooms are so much better than another in the choice franchise, that's why I chose once again to come to sleep inn after My Carolina stay. The room and the place is clean and the only statement I can find which is minute and not so important minor facelift and I mean minor. Some painting in the room but so minor it's not worth taking a star off. And the smoking should be stopped. Short and sweet, it was a nice place for the price. After a bad experience earlier in the day, my girlfriend and I were so happy to have come across a nice place at a reasonable price. The bed was nice, entire hotel was recently fully renovated, microwave, mini fridge, and a flat screen TV were in the room as well. We checked in at 11:00pm right after the Rays game and a long day and the staff were super friendly. Had a nice time joking with them and shooting the breeze while they got us checked-in. Same thing with our check-out, quick, painless, and courteous. However, there were a few things I would've changed. The A/C wasn't very strong. I don't know about you, but when I go to a hotel, the A/C is blowing hard and I'm usually freezing. This time, it was pretty warm the entire time. Also, the bathroom door was a sliding door and wouldn't completely close all the way and would get jammed. If you startle real easily, you may want to think elsewhere since it's right by the airport. Luckily the airport wasn't so busy so we only heard a couple planes come through and we thought it was hilarious. When you're looking for a quick place to stop in, get some shut eye, do some work, and have a quick continental breakfast, stop on by. I looked and looked for mos for a hotel in fl near my son to stay and my biggest fear and found W most hotels in fl was the damn DAMN BED BUGS. I HAVE A BUG PHOBIA AND I WAS FREAKING OUT. SO Finally had to choose a hotel for me and my son and never being in this area or knowing anything around here I went according to the reviews both on TripAdvisor advisor and Google and just jumped in. I even called and asked them about bed bugs. Well to my surprise when I got there I had both my sons look around room for bugs and anything else the would be out of the norm and I found NOTHING. I WAS VERY HAPPY. The only thing I did not like that I looked forward to was a bathtub. Now I know that may not mk sense to most but I pay for water at home and I wanted to sit in a darn tub. This place not only didnt have a tub. But the shower very small and my son is 6 feet tall. Other than that. The place was great. Nice complimentary breakfast every morning and employees were very helpful and polite. I would definitely go back to this hotel again. Ppl complain about the airport next to it but it's a small airport last plane about 8pm and watching them come in was breathtaking. read more

Be careful of some of the other hotels in this area. Just check it out before you go, as some of the hotels on the same road have alot of shady people staying there. I am an evacuee of the FL keys. Staying here with my two cats and dog. The staff here have been so lovely! I can honestly say that each member of their team that I have interacted with have been authentic and truly kind. It really means a lot given this difficult time due to Hurricane Irma. It is a typical hotel of its kind, except for the staff. They are exceptional! It makes all the diferrence to me and a I am gracious for their hospitality. This place would get no stars if I could not because the place wasn't clean and a nice new renovation. But the staff at the front desk is rude and I am pretty sure the women at the front desk with all the tattoos is a racist she was extremely nice to the person who checked out before me and when it was my turn she was rude and snappy. I asked for a receipt and she advised me that I would have to talk the manager because of the way I booked the room. The manger then blew me off with out any explanation.
