This is the itemized list of a Classic Queen size room.

I pulled up to the place in a taxi and didn't realize that this was the hotel. I had to stand outside in 90* weather at check-in. I didn't know that was because of the covid thing. Nobody is wearing a mask anywhere in sight, here there or anywhere in Florida. A few things were not explained to me. I booked a classic queen suite for ten days. The manager told me it was a petite suite that I booked, and generated a receipt at check-in that has petite suite on it. I didn't get what I paid for. Classic queen is on the first floor. Petite queen is on the second. Classic has ironing supplies, a desk, and a walk through to the adjacent room, tile or marble floor. I'm 6'2", I never would have booked the room. Luckily I kept my original receipt. The bathroom sink is a dentist sink cut in half and folded out. Luckily the small shower is next to it, so I could bring the water up to my face, w/o getting me and the floor soaked. No housekeeping at all. At the price I paid I should have at least gotten housekeeping on the fifth or sixth day. They should have asked me to step out and then do it; Nothing. A full-size mattress on a queen-size frame. The mattress had about four inches of space touching the frame. I didn't bother to change the sheets, I didn't come to be put to work. The wobbly ceiling fan was annoying. The towels were rough. About as rough as the young woman who answered the phone when I called the front desk for a simple question. The moment she picked up, I didn't want to speak with her; I asked for the manager, she said that she wasn't there. So I asked the question and quickly got off the phone. She sounded like she got her social graces from BET. I see a pattern from the people complaining. I didn't get what I paid for.

Such a cute place in the perfect location! We were within a short walk to the beach and local eateries ( less than a mile away for restaurants, pubs and such). Had motel bones with a modern boutique style decor that really utilized the space in our "petite suite" Room 19. Bathroom was adorable but tough for this tall, curvy lady with shaving legs in the shower or using the tiny sink. Beautifully decorated! An additional sink by the mini fridge and microwave would have worked out perfectly but otherwise all essentials were available ( toiletries, plenty of clean towels, beach towels, fresh brewed coffee daily and even beach chairs / umbrellas to borrow during our stay). The pool and courtyard are lovely along with a cute sun deck where we read and ate breakfast each morning! Some inexpensive drinks were available in the lobby and staff was friendly and helpful with local restaurant suggestions. Close enough to walk to Pier 6, Frenchy's Rockaway, Palm Pavilion, Clear Sky ( great for breakfast and dinner) and North Beach Pub. Beach is pretty low key and private at this end because Hotel Cabana is right at the edge where the residential portion begins! A short 10-15 minute drive to Clearwater Aquarium ( like a marine animal rescue/ hospital), grocery stores and a bit longer 30 minute drive to St.Pete's area ( Sunken Gardens and Salvador Dali Museum). My boyfriend golfed nearby while I relaxed at the beach. Will happily return and stay at this cute convenient location again! Thanks, Hotel Cabana staff!

Cute little hotel great location right off the beach and on the quieter end of it all. However management was unfriendly and didn't seem to want to have visitors staying. Also you pay hotel prices but it's run more like an Airbnb. Not many amenities and seemed annoyed when we requested sometWe'd recommend an Airbnb over this spot but location is hard to beat close to the beach.

    Sunset view off the pier

This cozy hotel is a perfect spot if you want to be close enough to the restaurants/shops but far away enough to not be bothered! The rooms are tiny, but very clean & decorated beautifully. The staff was friendly & wifi perfect. A minute walk to the beach, but they do not provide beach chairs (only some broken ones available). Parking is not guaranteed, so leaving in the car was a risk. We just walked or took Uber. It took 12 minutes to walk to Frenchy's, and 20 minutes to the Pier. We felt safe and happy here!

Beautiful hotel walking distance from the beach. Clean, looks exactly how it looks online. The staff is super friendly. The beach is literally right across the street and everything is walking distance. My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary here. We Loved it!

    Cockroach in the room

While this hotel seems cute, I would advise avoiding it. We checked in late and the system was not very secure as the front desk had closed at 8 PM. We were greeted in our room by a very large cockroach. Additionally, the deadbolt on the door did not lock from the inside. The doors open onto the outside, so this is more of an issue for this type of building than otherwise. When we raised these concerns at the front desk in the morning the staff member there couldn't even pretend to care. The excuse for the roach? "This is Florida, we have some big critters". Wow.

Sunset on the beach near Hotel Cabana

Wonderful location on the north end of Clearwater Beach. Beautiful pool area for the enjoyment of the guests before and after visiting the beach which is across the road. Great value for the price. Parking is limited during busy periods, parking seems not to be an issue mid week. Standard rooms are small, but clean and comfy, good A/C and decent TV in room. The hotel is away from the main strip, yet an easy walk to all the popular bars, restaurants, beaches, parks, the pier and sunset viewing. The hotel is newly renovated and well maintained and the staff was very friendly and accommodating, even with some COVID policies still in place. Check in and check out is done through text messaging and rooms are not serviced daily, but all you need to do ask someone if you need something, and the staff does their best to accommodate. This hotel has no frills, but is a true traditional beach hotel from another time period brought back to life, very nostalgic. We had a very relaxing and pleasant stay.

And not one spider or bug on that balcony the whole week we were there! Five stars just for that! All staff were very friendly, in fact I believe it was a manager that bought me and my husband drinks after we walked down 15 flights of stairs during a fire alarm. (I swear nobody else even heeded the alarm, we were the only one in the stairwell). We only ate breakfast in the main restaurant (which was good), but we did have room service a couple of times and enjoyed the rooftop bar, The Tropico, for food and drinks. (The kids menu burgers and fries was plenty for me!) All were good experiences. Hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants, shops and of course, the pier. We only hung out on the beach one day with the loungers and cabana. I was a little disappointed that they weren't included in the stay. The cost was $30 per day. Otherwise I was content to hang out on the loungers at the pool. A store called Surf Style is just a couple of doors down that has besides clothing, your snacks, drinks and all the tourist goodies.

PROS; -Walkable to just about everything! We didn't rent a car for our trip so it was perfect to be able to access nearby restaurants, shops, and more all on foot. -The pool deck is very large, well kept, and very well staffed. Tons of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Everyone working there was so dang nice! You can receive pool-side service for food & drink, or head up to the attached bar to grab what you need. Definitely a little on the pricey side, but a lot of good options. -We booked a one-bedroom suite and it was delightful! Sooo spacious, likely more than we needed. It was super clean and modern. Very nice, updated bathrooms and walk-in glass showers. Our patio was also huge, providing beautiful views of the Mandalay Channel. Beds were comfy, and they even so kindly provided us with a cot/crib for our youngest. Hugee for parents - that was super appreciated! -Literally every single person working there that we interacted with was beyond sweet! Five-star service and friendliness from all staff. CONS: -Little to no cleaning service in the room (unless requested??). Maybe I missed how this works, but it was a little of a bummer having overflowing trash cans and dirty dishes we weren't sure what to otherwise do with. They were very quick to bring fresh towels upon request, however! -Given the size of our suite, we would have loved to have a few extra usable items in the kitchen area, like any kind of napkins/paper towels, silverware, and soap do to a little washing up. Surely don't expect it to be fully stocked with appliances and plateware, but it seemed a little odd how big it was with truly nothing to use it for. All in all, we would absolutely stay here again, and would most certainly recommend it to others (especially families). Thanks for a great stay!

Every staff member -- from valet and customer service to housekeeping -- was kind, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. The property itself is beautiful, relaxing, and truly luxurious. They offer extra amenities which will make whatever you are celebrating extra special. I was celebrating a birthday during my stay, and my room was decorated for the occasion (available for an additional fee), which made the experience much more memorable. However, the experience took a turn when we were unexpectedly cut off after just three drinks each, despite being completely sober, respectful, and not causing any issues. There was no clear explanation given, which made it feel awkward and honestly a bit embarrassing. I wanted to leave 5 stars... But couldn't I want to start by recognizing the phenomenal staff members who made a positive impact. Brendan at the front desk provided a wonderful check-in experience. Randy in the Mainstays Tavern took VIP-like care of us every time we visited, as did Lexi during our dinner. Jordan out folding all the pool towels. David maybe giving rides via golf cart to beach - very nice and appreciated. I also want to thank staff for the thoughtful birthday note and the "sun and fun" package waiting in our room. Additionally, Debra was incredibly kind when we stopped in for breakfast!! However, I found the digital portal communication to be less than desirable. I had to report a smoking violation at least four times. I also reported guests using the hot tub after hours due to the noise while I was trying to get my family to bed. While I did speak with the front desk night manager, who was apologetic regarding these repeated nuisances, I left feeling that my value as a loyal guest was not fully recognized. There was just too many things that left us disappointed on our first trip here. There are 2 EV charging spots which was a lifesaver this trip and being a trolley stop was absolutely amazing for getting over the bridge into Clearwater Beach stress free. We saw pictures of a tennis and pickleball court online but those have been demolished and replaced by a grassy area :(. Thankfully sand bay tennis park is less than a mile away and the trolley does stop there. 3 volleyball courts which were great and sunsets 10/10! The Easter Egg hunt was a fun and unexpected treat for the kids :) well organized. I checked in early on the app, knowing it was a holiday weekend and there may not be rooms available early. We were able to pick up wristbands right away but we later found out these were not watched or enforced anywhere. In fact, you do not even need a key to enter the building from the pool/beach. I believe this added to the insane crowding at the pool. Could not find a pool chair at ALL - very stressful and had to set our belongings on the ground in order to swim. They could not keep up with the towels either and by 3-4PM, you could not get one at all. The pool bar had short hours and the line was insanely long every day. The pool bar shared the same line as ordering the food truck food which added to that chaos as well. On Friday the food truck shut down early as well. There was one water dispenser in the lobby but it was always empty. I felt like a bother asking the mainstay tavern for water. The food there was very good and we ordered to go. The gym was amazing 10/10. The beds were AWFUL 0/10 they are on a platform with absolute no give at all - ROCK hard!!! Had to walk across the street to the other Marriott location to get espresso coffee. The extra charges are too much - says $30/night to park but after taxes and fees it is $35 a night and $25 a night for the resort fee which doesn't cover anything but bikes as the trolley is already free. It is $45 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach. The resort fee should offset this cost!!!!! The location is amazing but these extra charges are just too much and our stay left a lot to be desired. I also had a fraud charge immediately following paying for parking even though I used the QR code at the front desk and have not used that credit card for any other purchases - I wish this was charged directly through the hotel instead. It is not gated.
