Gloria ironed my Dads last outfit, Rudy is a Deacon which gave a special touch to the vigil, they have a break room for people to sit and share a meal and memories. Losing our family member was an awful experience, but the kindness, warmth, and respect that everyone at Lake Ridge (especially the manager) showed us brought tremendous comfort. All of the planning and arrangements were done efficiently, professionally, flawlessly, and beautifully. They took care of every detail, including coordinating the church service that happened off-site, taking a picture and making a log of every flower arrangement sent to us so that the thank you note process would be easier, and putting together a beautiful slide show. (The list goes on, but my memory from the days surrounding the memorial is foggy.) The building itself is comfortable, clean, and welcoming. My heart goes out to anyone reading this review because it means that they have lost a loved one. You will be in good hands with Lake Ridge. They make you feel like part of their family.

They were much better priced than all of the other places we looked and went above and beyond what we expected. Having to buy a monument is never something we look forward to, but we have already encouraged other friends and family to buy here as well. Our daughter's University had sent us flags to place on her grave and Sadler's even set the flagpole for us, again, at no extra charge. There is no way to make losing a loved one a happy experience but I am so pleased with how they made it as good as they possibly could. We are already planning to pre-purchace our own stone from them. We truly felt like they cared about our loss and wanted us to be proud of the way we chose to honor our precious daughter. I did inquire for a friend and they do make and place stones in surrounding communities, not just Slaton or Lubbock as I had thought.

Someone told me when I was in high school that if you put a quarter on the angel's feet at midnight it would turn into the angel of death and chase you. Um, I never tried (not a good runner). But this cemetery is pretty cool and a little creepy in a good way. It's on the east side of Lubbock (not the best part of town), by railroad tracks, and a big grain elevator (or something like that). It's also the third-largest cemetery in the state of Texas with 60k+ graves. Please be respectful.
