I've had plenty of experience buying homes and well I've been communicating with Nilu Askari for the past week trying to get cross approved per the selling agent's requirement. We have already been pre-approved by BOA (letter) and have our first property with them, this is a second home for us and have been experiencing some major hurdles trying to get this done. I sometimes think that since they have messed up so much during this process that they have failed in gaining our trust that they would at this point delay in getting us approved so that they could wait for an other offer on the property we are interested in and try and gain that business form the next person. I'm a fair person and understand but when your site doesn't work and keeps refusing to accept your information, calls are not returned and you are pretty much not getting help well it looks pretty disappointing all the way around. UPDATE 7/30/12: THIS MATTER WAS NOT RESOLVED, My conclusion was that Nilu was not happy to cross-qualify us for the listing agent since she knew that she would not obtain the business from a qualified BOA buyer. So she did everything to delay this approval since her site was broken she wanted my wife and I to drive to her location over an hour away after a week and a half of trying to get her to accept our information over PDF files. Well I'm happy to report that we ended up buying the property with an all cash offer 15K below what we had originally had offered. This chick screwed the listing agent and the seller. She did this only to look after her own interest and not the interest of those who are referring business her way. GOOD JOB NILU, I'm exposing they way you really do business, I certainly hope that you lose that business from those who take the time to read this review since you deserve to be treated the way you treat others. SHAME ON YOU! ONLY IF THIS GETS RESOLVED:: Will I make changes to this review, I have tried in good faith each day to communicate with this business but I was only told and I quote message from my real estate agent: "but you can tell him (referring to me) that his sarcasm will get him everywhere.".... Obviously she meant that it won't get me anywhere however I expressed no sarcasm, actually I expressed my concerns since her web-site is broken and I simply asked her if all she would do is call us to gather the information she needed, it's that simple. As I said, I'm a fair person but if you are refusing to do your job and are holding up the opportunity for me and my family then I take it personal and I'll be happy to leave this review up and add in more details later. read more

My wife and I worked with our loan officer Josh L., who was recommended by the awesome agents Eli & Caroline at Teles Properties. Given the skyrocketing prices of homes in Southern California, my wife and I experienced trepidation with whether we could afford/qualify for a mortgage as first-time home buyers. Then we met Josh, who upon looking at our financial situation, wiped out all our anxieties like a Harry Potter wizard waving a wand. From the very moment we put down an offer to closing escrow, Josh was there providing guidance with dos and don'ts with our finances, answering (more like calming our fears of the unknown) our questions, and always acting in our best interests overall. This review wouldn't be complete if we didn't also praise our loan processor Darleen V. , who like Josh, was also very friendly and responsive. During escrow, I was e-mailing Josh & Darleen daily. Now that we closed escrow, I actually miss them. Have you ever had a medical procedure that you thought was going to be painful because everyone else told you so previously only to discover that it was not bad at all thanks to an excellent doctor? Well, Josh, Darleen, and Team Skyline are like those doctors. Thanks Skyline! read more

We were encouraged to use Skyline by our Dilbeck realtors even after securing a loan through a national chain. What a mistake that turned out to be. Delinquent estimates, delinquent appraisal process, extremely poor communication, the list goes on. When they finally provided our loan docs for notary/signature 2 days prior to close of escrow, my wife's name was misspelled. Had to resign everything again the next day, but by then they missed their funding and wouldn't fund until day of closing. Careless. Sloppy. Unapologetic. Unprofessional. We were advised to use Skyline, who while not offering perhaps the best available rates, made up for that with this supposed premium service and access. Big mistake - go elsewhere! read more

Mortgage Broker Jon Currie has made this experience of buying a home ( and a rather challenging transaction ) an absolute breeze. Honesty, integrity, and diligence around everything We needed for this to happen were the primary qualities which made us trust him and sleep at night. This review was previously removed due to "privacy concerns", except that the two individuals I call out in this review are called out in other reviews on the site. Methinks this organization whined about my review. I worked with Joe "T" and Phillip "C" to get my CA house refinanced awhile back. The Good: Good with documents, e-signatures and all that for convenience. He's reasonably good about staying in touch. Joe had the knowledge of whatever secret handshake was required to get my 2nd mortgage subordinated. Subordinating means that I didn't have to pay off the 2nd, but that it just carried over when I refinanced. The Bad: I specifically asked Joe if I should get a rate lock and was told no. Well that little mistake has been costing me about $150 a month since. Telling me that he was sorry doesn't quite cut it. I was relying on expertise, not a shrug and a WAG. Also, I said their communication is pretty good, that is until they screw something up. Then things kind of go quiet. They would get zero stars, but Yelp doesn't let me give that and Joe "C" helped get the 2nd mortgage subordinated. I supposed that even a stopped clock is right twice a day. You're mileage may vary, but that's how mine went down. I'm not sure what these guys bring to the table that would justify the risk of another screw up. If I could do it again I would not have used these guys. read more

My husband and I bought our first home with the help of Ann Bose. The experience of buying a home is very stressful but with the guidance and professionalism that Ann provided us with, made the process great. Our questions were answered clearly and with the details we needed. I would highly recommend Ann to anyone buying a home. read more

Skyline provided the best mortgage lending experience to date. Chris H. is knowledgeable, trustworthy and is lightening quick to respond. I was extremely impressed that he was able to predict what documents the underwriters were going to require which eliminated any surprises. He proposed a timeline and ensured the refinance stayed on track. He guided us through process and treated us as if we were family. It doesn't get any better than that. read more

I worked with Joe Tishkoff and Philup Chu at Skyline Home Loans. I never expected such an amazing experience and overview of how mortgages work and the best way to strategize. Joe spent so much time with me explaining EVERYTHING. We did countless calculations and after diligently reviewing all my financials we decided to go with a primary 30 year fix mortgage followed by a secondary HELOC loan. By deciding to go with this method I am now saving thousands of dollars in taxes and not wasting away money through an unneeded mortgage insurance. I am guessing this method caused Joe much more work, but because it benefited me he put in the extra time and got me exactly what best fit my needs. I would recommend both Mr. Tishkoff and Mr. Chu to anyone who needs a mortgage. This review does not do the two of them justice, because I could write pages on how amazing my experience was from start to finish. I honestly can't think of one negative about these two. They go the extra mile for you and the knowledge they possess separates them from your average mortgage broker. When and if I plan on refinancing my house it is a guarantee I will call them. Thank you so much for everything!!! read more

My wife and recently refinanced our home with the assistance of Paul from skyline. Friends of ours had raved about his knowledge and fairness. Well, after completing our deal, I would have to agree. Everything about the process was smooth. Him and his staff were knowledgable, extremely efficient and easy to communicate with. I plan on doing all of my future business here, and advise you to consider them too! Keep up the honest work! read more

Josh L. at Skyline came recommended by our real estate agent, along with two other folks. Josh was on top of things form the first minute. Quick responses to my emails and in depth answers to questions. We met a few days later and he took the time to help educate me on the realities of obtaining a loan. Josh clearly outlined the process, made us aware of all the pitfalls and options to position ourselves as the best buyer in any situation. Ultimately, his guidance was on the money, getting us into the house we wanted with minimal fuss. Oh, and he's honest. he SAID there would be a lot of paperwork, and he hit that bullseye as well...LOL The bottom line for us was that Josh worked hard to get us the mortgage we wanted, when we needed it. :) read more

Had the worst experience with this company. They were always asking for documents at the last minute and then me and my husband were forced to rush around and get them what they needed. Our closing date was pushed back 2 weeks because of them. Its like, if this is what you do on a daily basis, how do you not have checklists of what you will need for each transaction?! They dropped the ball on more than one occasion. The only reason why we used them was because it was part of the seller's conditions in order for them to cover closing costs otherwise, we would have gone through someone else for sure. Definitely would not recommend. read more

Don't talk to these people, and save yourselves trouble down the road. How would you like to find out your taxes were miscalculated, and you have been underpaying your mortgage for almost a year? Our payment went up over $400! Not acceptable! Not acceptable! Not acceptable! read more

We were asked to cross qualify with Skyline to get our house. They gave us a SIGNIFICANTLY better deal than the other person was offering. We worked with Brian McKim & Shant who were personable, available, and wonderful. At the last moment, right before closing, the homeowner didn't do some of the termite work they'd agreed to do (and appeared to be doing), and on the day of closing, it looked like the escrow company was going to have to send the money back, creating a hassle for Skyline, where they would have to do extra work on the loan. Both Brian and Shant were AMAZING during this process. They were both very calm and supportive. I highly recommend them. read more

Josh and Mark were fantastic and extremely helpful and informative throughout every step of the home buying process. Josh is super funny and kind and went above and beyond in ensuring I met all criteria so that my loan would be approved. I'm very grateful for the Mark Klein team over and Skyline loans. Literally everyone involved from their office was pleasant to work with. I highly recommend Josh Lampel and the entire Skyline team for your mortgage needs. Pro tip: go into the office, they have candy! read more

Kevin Gusinow was a great help in getting our jumbo loan at a very good rate with minimal points. He is trustworthy, professional and gets the job done in a timely manner. Also he knows exactly what is available on the market. We are very happy with our loan and monthly payment; we plan to continue to use Kevin for future loans. read more

I had the privilege of working with Michael Razak on a loan for a clients of mine who were first time buyers. As tough as it is to work with new home buyers, Michael handled ALL of the lending questions and made my clients feel comfortable with the process. Although we lost out on a few other homes, Michael came up with solutions to help make our offer look better than other offers. Not only did he give us favorable contingency times (which he met), he actually had done deals with the other agent and knew that if Michael was the loan consultant...the loan would be funded. Thank you Michael for taking on some of the stress of being a Realtor and allowing me to do what I do best. I could not have done it without you. This is the first loan in a long time that actually closed on-time. read more

My husband and I worked with Joe Tishkoff and Philip Chu on purchasing our first home. They were both such amazing mortgage brokers, and made this process so clear. We feel so fortunate to have had the pleasure of working with both him and Philip Chu. Joe and Philip spent so much of his time thoroughly explaining every detail to us and we came up with a great strategy that will save us thousands of dollars over time. The knowledge they possess about the real estate industry in uncanny and utilized with perfection to help get us exactly what we needed. Everything was submitted timely and Joe Tishkoff even went the extra mile to obtain information that I was having trouble receiving (old tax liens from Santa Barbara, and removing two items on our credit score) He knew exactly what to do in every situation. We feel so blessed to have found such a talented and amazing broker. We highly recommend Joe Tishkoff and Philip Chu to everyone!!! Thank you Gentlemen read more

Having been in real estate for over 20 years, I have worked with my share of lenders. Joe Tishkoff, Philip Chu and Zach Sher at Skyline Home Loans are the BEST! In the last 10 years of working with them our clients are consistently pleased with their performance. They are very polite, professional and creative particularly when it comes to self employed and 1099 borrowers. In today's challenging market it's important to work with a reputable direct lender like Joe Tishkoff! read more

Had a great seamless experience w. Daniel, Holly & team. Holly in particular was incredibly helpful and always on top of things. She helped us draft letters of explanation when needed & made buying our first home a breeze. As a new home buyer with a lot of questions, she would always answer pleasantly & promptly. When we ended up canceling our first deal after we'd done inspections & appraisals, Daniel waived the appraisal fee for the home we ended up purchasing. This team was rock solid & helped guide us through the loan process every step of the way. Highly recommend! read more

This was my first home purchase ever and Joe T. did a fantastic job of walking me through the process every step of the way. We looked at the numbers and different loan options in many different ways. Thank you, Joe T. and the Skyline Home Loan team, for making this such an enjoyable process in a very stressful but exciting time! read more

My experience with Skyline was great even though I didn't end up doing business with them. Aaron Sattler was the ultimate professional and a pleasure to work with when I was shopping for a mortgage. Within an hour of my initial call he had numbers prepared and was incredibly helpful. The rates and closing costs he offered were the best out there and matched the Godfather "offer I couldn't refuse" I ended up going with. Despite not actually doing a deal with him he was so pleasant that I will look to work with him in the future and recommend him to anyone looking for a mortgage, starting with anyone that searches Skyline on yelp. read more

We worked with Ann Bose and Holly Gibson for our initial purchase and couldn't be happier. They both kept us informed and answered all of our questions in a timely manner, being first-time buyers we had MANY questions. Our purchase presented many obstacles (from the seller), up to the day of closing. Ann and Holly made special arrangements to make sure we closed in time with a pressing deadline. We recently refinanced our house and without hesitation we chose to work with them again! Both are easily available to answer questions, and are very supportive throughout the process. read more

My experience with Skyline was excellent.I thought the communication was great! Skyler Young was our broker and he was very professional. The rates were almost a point lower than what our previous lender had quoted(for a refi). The process was amazingly quick as well.I'd highly recommend Skyler young to friends and family! Also,It turned out that my previous lender had made an error on my grant deed and Skyline caught the error and facilitated the steps to correct it. I will use them again if we refinance in the future . read more

Getting a reverse mortgage through Sean Diaz was quite different from mortgage experiences we had decades ago. He was the exact opposite of what we had come to expect. Upon first meeting, we found him to be low key, honest, forthcoming, and very competent. Throughout our process, Sean anticipated issues and recommended resolutions that kept things moving steadily. He told us in advance what to do to keep the appraiser happy, and he had a decades old hiccup on our title record erased. We never dealt with anyone but Sean at Skyline; I suspected we might be handed off to someone in the office, but Sean was our exclusive contact every step of the way. He stayed in touch with us and told us when things would be happening; we never had to call him to find out what was going on. There are so many government protections built into the reverse mortgage process that a lot of paperwork is required; through it all, Sean was patient and maintained his sense of humor to keep us in our comfort zone. Our reverse mortgage has given us peace of mind that we can handle any health care issues that arise in the future - we owe Sean for giving us that assurance. We recommend him highly. read more

They should really fire Victoria A. She was extremely rude on the phone. She promised a follow up phone call but it has been over 2 weeks now and no contact. Every time I call and have to deal with her I never get what I wanted accomplished. I do not understand how a company can hire an incompetent person to represent their business. I will take my business elsewhere and suggest others to do the same. read more

Joe Tishkoff is a miracle worker. Putting it simply. I started my process before meeting him with what I THOUGHT was just a simple refinance with Nationstar (look up that review). After going through what was a complete nightmare and having Nationstar even erroneously report a payment late I was finally introduced to Joe. He went so far and above what anyone had done in the year prior I cannot even say thank you enough. He helped me get the whole thing FINALLY straightened out and then persevered with a loan fraught with glitches that popped up along the way - from the city having the house wrong on the title - to wrong square footage listed - to homeowners insurance that the company did incorrectly on the house - to dealing with a borrower (me) who works from home for a company in Australia. With each incidence, he persevered - got it put to right and in the end successfully got my refinance finished. Add to that they make the process easy with online paperwork and docusign and great communication all the way through. And in the end for the "wet signing" he had someone out to my house on my crazy schedule through rain and traffic all to get the loan through as quickly as possible. And all of this done without drama or fanfare. If you need a great mortgage broker do yourself a favor - dont do the online - skip the hundred people blowing up your phone line to talk to you about your interest in a loan and just call Joe. He is truly the best and I will continue to recommend him online and by word of mouth to everyone I know. read more

Joe Tishkoff from Skyline helped us with financing our first home. His hard work, dedication, excellent communication, and thorough diligence throughout this rigorous was tremendously critical in making this dream a reality for us. Terrible service now, that Phillip Chu no longer working for Joe Tishkoff. I certainly did not get a loan I signed up for, with MCC program for first time buyers to get 20% credit back for tax purposes. This means lots of money and Mr. TIshkoff was all promises and no action. After 45 days of escrow and with 40% downpayment and 830 fico score this guy couldn't even close on time. His inactions and incompetence cost me an opportunity to ever get benefits as a first time buyer. Don't do business with this guy. Worst experience with a mortgage lender - refinance loan closed in April 2015. Lender collected homeowner's insurance premium at closing. June 2015 we received a notice indicating the homeowner's insurance was cancelled due to non-payment. As of this date Skyline has still not paid the insurance premium but are holding almost $1,000 in escrow account. Unfortunately borrower is in her 80's and cannot understand why a lender who agrees to pay insurance (and collects a premium at closing as well as 1/12th each month) refuses to pay. read more
