She shared with me the location where to pick the peaches, she shared the history of the orchard, and she also picked me a watermelon. I don't typically buy them and don't know how to pick them. This location isn't where right off the main road. It's like a Farmer's Market. You get to try some fruit that they have labeled. It's really nice and I will be back before the season is over.

Instead of just answering, I was met with a judgmental look and told, "Yes, but theres a surcharge-and we don't take EBT or food vouchers". That response was unnecessary and honestly offensive. I didn't ask about assistance programs, and there was no reason to bring that up. If felt like an assumption was made about me the moment I walked in. Let me be clear: there is nothing wrong with people who use EBT or need assistance. What is wrong is making assumptions about someone and speaking to them in a way that reflects bias or prejudice. For context, I'm a regsitered nurse-someone who works hard, contributes to my community and deserves to be treated with the same respect as anyone else who walks through that door. If you run a business-especially one that depends on the community-how you treat people matters. Respect should never be optional. Do better.

All kinds of relishes, apple and pear butter, maple syrup(that I'm going back to get after my blood work) Vidalia onion relish, tomatoes, fresh turnip greens, corn, watermelons, peaches, zucchini, yellow squash and small Vidalia onions are only a few of the items they have. These grits get their natural, lighter, creaminess from the grits and proper cooking (stirring continuously) resulting in more corn flavor and a natural creaminess that doesn't overpower the dish. These grits result is an authentic bowl of creamy grits with complex and subtle corn notes that all too often is lost when chef's load up the cream and butter. I've heard it said that grits take on the flavor of what is added into them - well not if it starts with the "right" grits and knowing how to properly cook them. We also enjoy Rio Bertolini's Fresh pasta - their shrimp, corn, and bacon ravioli; their braised beef short rib ravioli, the lobster truffle ravioli; sage brown butter sauce; sweet potato gnocchi, and garlic gnocchi are some favorites. 3 doz en ravioli for $20, freezes well. Twin Creeks Lavender is a lavender farm with 7,000 organically grown plants located in Anderson. Their lavender candles are a delight. They also sell a variety of lavender potpourri, scents, soaps, etc. There are several farm stands represented, vegetables organic poultry, beef, pork. Lots of crafts and flowers. One of our most intriguing favorites is Forx Farms Cheeses, a couple who have introduced organic, hand crafted cheeses of all kinds into the local market reflecting their heritage from the Netherlands. Fresh cream cheese, no preservatives, same with Parmesan, cottage cheese, pimento cheese, aged Gouda, smoked Gouda, and my favorite - Leyden, a Dutch, semi hard cheese with cumin and caraway seed. This is such an outstanding market and a pleasure to visit, open every Saturday 8-noon from May 1 to last Saturday in October. It covers both sides of three blocks of Main Street from E McBee to Court Street.

(Zucchini, squash, lettuce and onions.) They had other items too. The bread vendor had a nice assortment of sweet and savory items to choose from. I bought a giant loaf of cheddar cheese bread that is delicious. I noticed peaches were also available and lots of desserts, sauces and seasonings. I plan to go again next week to see what's new!!!

We made sure to check the website before driving mode to this market. Market it states that…read morewell-behaved leash pads are welcomed in outdoor market areas but are not allowed inside any of the buildings, sheds or shops. That is totally reasonable so we made the truck over. When we arrived however, I thought we were in the wrong place. It has an industrial feel, not a farmers market feel, and there were no markets going on outside. As a matter of fact, the only market was indoor with about a dozen or so stalls. We were disappointed, but I wanted to check it out so my husband remained in the vehicle with our dog. I looked at every market stall inside and I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Having produce doesn't make something a farmers market. It just felt like walking around local grocery store. About a third of the vendors were fruits and vegetables and the rest were knick-knacks and t-shirts and miscellaneous items. Also, it was incredibly empty. I mean I understand why. I did find a new cider to try but knowing what I know now, I would most likely not make the drive again. I realize I'm not from the area, but this was no different than any local grocery stores to me.

We were pleasantly surprised by the superb quality of their offerings. Their zucchini and squash were flawlessly presented. They had beautiful strawberries by the bucket. Their frozen meat products were plentiful and they had an array of honeys, jams, and relishes. Ice cream is very much on the menu at the farm whether it be on a cone, cup, or in a shake. The best part was going in the back with my wife where she picked wild flowers (no charge), along with sunflowers (huge). I highly recommend visiting the Johnson Family Farm. Because they…read moreare conveniently located on HWY 25 and their produce is so good I don't mind delaying my trip home just so I can pick up either strawberries or peaches to take home with me. The strawberries, I believe, come from Strawberry Hill which has some of the best tasting strawberries. Last month I stopped at the Country Corner to pick up peaches for my trip home. The peaches where better than any I can find in Ohio. In fact, when I arrived home with my peaches there were peaches at my home from aunt who had visited from Michigan while I was away. The SC peaches were so much better. The flavor of the SC peaches from Country Corner had so much more and better flavor. I also tried their Peach tea. It was better than tea from brands found in large grocery stores. The folks who operate the store are down to earth, friendly, and very helpful.
